Difference with SuperiorAuto Mod with different 4.3 Firmwares( Must look) - Xperia Z1 General

Yes you don't hear wrong. Sony did this.Different firmware and different SuperiorAuto resolution. Check below for the samples...
This is Vodafone-UK Firmware and 20MP in SuperiorAuto Mod.And Picture is 7,17 MB(5248x3936).I flashed with Flashtool.

And this is Original Firmware in Turkey and 8MP in SuperiorAuto Mod..And Picture is 2.86 MB(3840x2160)I updated with SE Update Service.
Flash This Firmware and see difference http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572053..

I flashed this one. The quality look worse than before. A lot of noise and lose detail when zoom in.

So it's true. I don't know if there is any improvement.

Maybe it's vodafone who did something rather than Sony? we need more samples than 2 different firmwares in order to know exactly what is going on, since we're comparing a branded UK firmware with what I'm guessing is an unbranded turkish one?
Ideal would be comparing the vodafone UK firmware with a O2 firmware, or a unbranded UK one to se if they all do 20mb, or if it's only vodafone

a simple question is vodafone firmware better ?

I have tried Generic UK and We and both use 8mp rather than 20mp for SuperiorAuto sadly.

It is only better if you use Superior Auto. I get better results from Manual anyway, but it is just stupid that Supauto is limited to 8 rather than 20...

Where did you get generic UK?

The only good reason to switch from Nordic to Vodafone-UK is the Camera in iAuto to make pictures with 20.7mpx. But Vodafone-UK if full of Vodafone bloatware and on 4.3 still problems to root if you want try to remove all the unnecessary apps. Also the Nordic have amazing battery improvement and I do not want lose that so I will think twice to switch to another FTF just for the camera.

Same here..i hope there is unbranded ftf that supports this two:
1.default 20MP in superior auto or better if we can change the MP manually in superior auto in their next release firmware..
2. Better battery life and saves more ram in firmware.
Correct me if im wrong..

I had to factory reset to fix the settings in sound enhancements from crashing, once I did that all was fine. Audio seems a little louder, quality was always good for me so don't notice much of a difference compared to 4.2.2. Battery life is fantastic thus far but still need to give it a few more days to get a better feel for it.

Well that's good for you..just let us know after trying your battery life within this days.ok?

I don't get why 20 MP on a miniscule chip are considered a good thing. Just means more noise. I think the 8 MP are just perfect for what I realistically 'shoot' with the Z1 - snapshots when I don't have a real camera with me.

Agree, but why not? I will like to have this options can be useful sometime. What I don't understand yet is how Vodafone FTF is set up to do that and many FTF don't. It's a choice of Vodafone or Sony?

Can someone post pic samples with LB and UB and how much the quality decreases?
Also if I unlock the bootloader and relock it after restoring TA, would Bionz work again normally?

I can notice a noticable difference in noise levels in my photos in lowlight with UBL vs LB. It's quite a bit worse. In daytime it's not that much different, but in lowlight it's evident that it's not as good. I might relock my bootloader now, the camera is a really important feature to me :\

I got confirmation from another person in the Unlock bootloader thread that if you restore your TA backup you get back BIONZ. I already relocked my bootloader and there is an immediate difference in camera quality. Unfortunately I don't have any low light shots...i was too stupid to take some before relocking :\ . I do have some outdoor shots though that I'll compare with tomorrow.

Then you're out of luck, sorry. The TA backup should've been done when the bootloader was locked, you lose it when you unlock the BL. You can still lock your BL without your TA but none of your DRM keys come back.
Here's a quick comparison between unlocked bootloader vs locked bootloader in outdoor light. Overall there's not much difference, but LB is slightly better, especially in the colors and sometimes in sharpness. Where there's a big difference is in low light, UBL pictures have horrible sharpness and noise, LB is much better but unfortunately I don't have comparisons for those...
First image is unlocked bootloader, 2nd image is locked bootloader. Using 8mp superior auto for both. Time is slightly different, so slightly different sun angles but not by much.

Antutu Score Comparison [ Stock - No root ]

Well, yesterday i received my Z3, first thing i did - i installed Antutu Benchmark to see how "bad" is my lovely (rooted only, stock) Z.
I'm interested which results you reach with your Z3 - STOCK and NOT rooted, to avoid this thread becomes a comparison thread between Custom Roms, which is against the rules of XDA.
So, feel free to post your results, and pls specify your FW version, region and perhaps the Cust. No.

How to get the best benchmark results, as possible.
Reboot your phone, let it settle for about 5 minutes
turn off auto sync, so it doesn't try to do something mid test.
Stop as many applications from running (force stop from settings, apps), like facebook which sync separately. This also has the effect to release memory back to the phone.
Place the phone on a flat surface and don't touch it during test, otherwise you accelerometer will be active (slow your CPU)
I have also noted that the benchmarks are always slower with charger connected, uses kernel power, plus heats the phone, in turn heating the CPU = slower CPU.
See how that goes
Honestly, I couldn't care less about any benchmark results, though I posted mine above as well for the fun of it. My Z3C is lightning fast in day to day application and that's all what really counts.

From what I have heard others had issues after flashing generic on the D6616.
I don't know about the Z3 but for some other devices like the LG G2 flashing firmware of a 16GB device on a 32GB one reduced the storage by half and it's a mess trying to get that back.

Next update will come in June acording to Rickard, Community Manager.
Look at this forum theme about bloetooth audio stutter problem.
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperi...after-marshmallow-update/td-p/1103796/page/21
And on this page there is his post.
This coud be 32.2.A.0.224 firmware Android 6.0.1.
It shall be done by mid of June according to leaked update road map that is out for months now, but seems i cannot find it again. But i know it stands for MR1 with Stamina function and version numbers do confirm that. Along this, in June both M4Aqua and M5 should be upgraded to MM
Man I hope it's 6.0.1, with the newest security patches. In its current state, the Z5 is still vulnerable to Stagefright
EDIT: Already rolling out for some devices it seems: http://www.xperiablog.net/2016/06/02/xperia-z5-firmware-update-32-2-a-0-224/
"At the time of writing, the update is available to the Xperia Z5 (E6603), Xperia Z5 Dual (E6683) and Xperia Z5 Compact (E5803, E5823), but we expect the Xperia Z5 Premium to go live shortly too. "

They just added a new and revamped stamina mode.
Id recommend not to use it as it is likely to limit our device performance.

It is real stamina, just revamped.
It does reduce brightness and stuff like that so it is not the same as doze.

Then try android s power save. Oh wait. Its not here. But it was there at 5.1. Then decompress stamina. Ta taa you find powersave. Why? Cuz the stamina isnt real. Are both attach same? Absolutely not.

Can I use AAC codec for a Bluetooth device not included in the Qualcomm Whitelist? (airpods, wf 1000x, qcy t1....)
For other manufacturers, codecs are available. Sony is not possible. Qualcomm told the manufacturer to change the settings. Sony has not changed the settings. Did sony update this at this time?
Camera look like so as in 2.33

Oh… I didn't notice it. My apologies. Let me edit my post.
I've noticed overall system performance is alot snappier and responsive. apps open/close and swap quite fluidly now.

I'd like to root my XZ premium too and install the xz2 camera for better quality photos/videos. Is there a guide for Android pie?
Also I have just got the xz premium (was on the Xperia z5 before I smashed the screen), is there anything I should know? Which cases do you guys recommend? And which Rom options are there that are Android 9?
Many thanks

I don't have lens on stock latest rom.
Unfortunately I installed Pie on my Xperia XZ Premium. Phone is now completely useless becouse I cannot even change volume of ringer. Is it any way to repair xz premium without unlocking bootloader? I wonder back to Android Oreo or Nougat? I have bought fully working phone without silly limitation from Android 9.0. Maybe the best way is to send phone on RMA where they repair phone or send phone directly to seller and request another one without defect known as Android Pie?
