Yes. I had the same issue. JIC, make sure you always use the cable & charger that was provided with Glass. Google has a warning about this & I can tell you first hand that it has caused me several headaches.
Otherwise, for some reason, this time I had this issue even with the stock cable/charger. Device became sluggish & a warning appeared, telling me to cool down the device or it might remain unresponsive.
Once the update was finished, I rebooted the device & it has been normal since, but it did get seriously hot.
OK just making sure I wasn't the only 1 and yes I always use the stock ac adapter and USB cable

Mine randomly gets hot when being used for extended time, but was doing it before xe12. No hotness with any types of chargers I've tried
B4 that it only ever got warm when playing spellista for a long period of time (longer than 5 minutes)

when you plug the phone in, the screen lights up..why? its so often you'd just plug in the phone and drop it on your bed, or charge it while driving trying to get back some % cause we all know it dies too fast anyway.. you need to press the lock button to get the screen off, otherwise itll just stay lit forever.. totally defeating the outpost purpose of charging it in the first place.. and if you go over a bump and the charger breaks connection and reconnects, it will light up and at the end of your drive it won't be anymore charged than when you started the drive.. I, can't believe nobody is tackling this issue, but yet we have a fix for the phone vibrating when its done charging..

No one is tackling it because maybe your the only one with the issue? Easy to blame other people for not fixing problems isnt it?
Like the post above me. When I plug it in, screen dims then goes off.
really? how long is, your screen set to dim for? "dim after ... " setting, on both firmwares I tried I get this issue

30 seconds.
I remember this was happening to me when I first got the phone a month ago. Seems to be working fine now though...
Since then I've upgraded to KE2 and then KE7, so perhaps that fixed it. I used to use a longer screen timeout though so maybe I just never gave it enough time to shut off.
im on KE2 and the screens turns off when charging after exactly 1 min, as i set it to
I think the question/wish of the OP is that the phone shouldn't come on when plugged in, if it's on standby, which is annoying nonetheless.
My Samsung galaxy 3 screen is pressing itself. ie, certain screen portions become "touched" automatically!
When browsing, page zooms in and out, icons are pressed and I cannot do anything.
If I just lock screen using power key and again unlocked, problem goes for some time.
But after that It again comes back.
Someone plz help....

Try doing a factory reset...

I did a factory reset and then changed ROM
Problem is most severe when I use phone while it is charging. ( can there be a link between charging and this screen problem ?)
But some times the problem is present even when not charging the phone

It could happen due to heat

has ur g3 ever got water logged or ever got any contact with water or has ever water entered the circuits through the chrging plug or so??
Unfortunately that's a HW problem.
Some weeks ago my SG3 has started to make the same things: "Simulating clicks in some areas of the screen, specially on the left border". At first, the touchscreen works sometimes and sometimes no, but after a few days it finally was unusable.
Finally, I've sent it to the samsung SAT and after two weeks I've received my G3 with a new touchscreen and all works pretty well since this time!
Will Samsung replace the touchscreen or will they argue that I did some damage? !!
Phone was never water logged.
Battery showing 35°C
I used to browse net alot while it was plugged in...is this harmful to phone?

Called Samsung Customer care today.
They said they would replace screen free of cost only after checking if i had done any physical damage to hardware.
^Hey mate, were you able to get it replaced for free? Kindly let me know if you did, because even I've been facing the same problem for about a week now.
Also I did go to the Samsung Service Center, and even after my phone being under warranty period, they are asking me 1.5k for replacing the touchpad because according to them, the hardware parts don't come under warranty.
My fascinate has started doing something strange. I can open an app and use it for a couple of minutes and the keyboard will suddenly appear then usually the app will close. Sometimes I can hit the back button and the app will stay running but usually the app will close. It does this on mainly resource hungry apps like XDA or Market though it has done it on about all of the apps. I thought I had a rom or kernel issue but I've gone all the way back to stock and it still does it. I'm beginning to think I've got a touchscreen problem but I don't know for sure. The phone is still under warranty but I want to be sure its not the way I've got something set or an app problem. It just did it on the home screen, keyboard popped up and I hit the back button and it went away. Ever heard of this?

I have a touchscreen problem as well(I think), but please try to post questions in the Q&A section. Just sayin'
had the same problem, took it into verizon, told them I was having that issue and the missed call issue and they sent me a new phone. New phone not having any problems yet (fingers crossed)
I just ordered my second replacement due to "phantom" button presses. But mine was always mimicking the home, back, or menu key. Wouldn't even have to be touching the phone when it happened.
You may be having a similar issue. although I'm not sure how you'd get the keyboard from the home screen unless your cursor is in google search our something.
Anyway, I've read of similar issues on fascinate, charge, and original droid. All required new hardware. Most commonly blamed on 3rd party chargers and possibly buggy charging code. Ends up damaging the touchscreen over time.

Interesting about chargers. I sometimes use a non-samsung charger that came with an LG phone. I'll stop using it just in case. Mine also will act up without me even touching the phone. I just got a replacement in the last 10 minutes and will see how things go. Thanks for the replies.
I have phantom button presses, too, but I've ALWAYS used my stock charger. I did notice that removing my otter box case helped cut back on
It

It took me forever to figure out why i could not get odin to detect my phone or why my phone would never show up as being USB connected. I was using an LG USB charging cable. I bought a new microUSB cable and it worked like a charm. I swear those LG cables are about as reliable as their phones (see LG Voyager)
Temp fix on post 7
Hey, I've owned my phone for
about 6 months. It has been fine till about a week ago when I flashed a miui rom (Mintberry). At first, it was just occasional flickering, everyday or two for a few seconds, but now it's turned into a fair bit more.
If I don't use my phone heavily for about 3 hours, and go back to the phone, the screen has turned completely grey. When this happens, no matter what state my phone is in the screen flickers. It generally begins flickering very fast then after 5 seconds the screen is completely grey (even once rebooted).
I have dropped my phone a few times like everyone does, nothing severe or even close though. I didn't drop it then have it instantly happen.
I have since tried a few things...
Changed pixel density in rom toolbox (works once rebooted, but only till I stop using)
Changed from miui to ICS (no difference, but took an hour for it to start)
Am I looking at buying a new screen?
Edit: tried another battery, no success (didn't expect much)

I had similar issue with my phone. I do not think it has anything to do with software.. but yours is far worse thn mine.. I only had minor flickering which could only be seen sometimes and you really need to notice it with black or white background.. I tired diffrent roms it was on all of them.. I switched back to original rom.. and then got my screen replaced underwarranty... working fine since then..
OK thanks, ill give them a call today.

Had mine flickering in the same fashion. Out of warranty. Took it to a repair place and apparently it was just the screen connection was loose - thats what they told me anyway - $80 later everything worked again - probably ripped me off but im not a hardware tech so didnt want to screw with it myself
I'll have a look at a disassemble guide today, see if I can fix the cable. Thanks man, generally screen flickering is from a loose cable.

Well today I found a fix...
I accidently left my phone in the car when it was pretty hot. Seemed fine when i used it for a few minutes so i assumed it was water damage and decided to take the battery out and leave it for a while.
Came back to the phone after i had done the shopping to see if it was still working. Nope... It was noticably colder though as the car was now in the shade.
I ended up getting a heat bag and wrapping it around the phone. The screen almost immediately started working and the screen was perfect.

So I accidentally depleted my phones battery low enough that when I plugged my phone in to charge it, it was blinking red. But it charged and is back working again, so its all good. But now when I turned my phone on, there's a Google watermark Almost on my screen. I've taken screen shots and looked at them on my computer and it didn't have it, so it much be the screen? Its in the same spot and size as the Google logo when you start up. I only let it charge for about an hour, and the first time I turned it on, it was on its charger and I didn't get the boot animation, the screen was off, I could tell because it was really black, if I display a black screen on my phone while its on, I can still tell its on because of the backlight. Did I break it... ?

It's definitely burned into the LCD, was the phone heated up when it happened? were you using intensive tasks? though, Either way it wouldn't matter. The only thing you could do about it currently is to take it back to LG for them to replace your screen.
What charger you used ? Stock ?
I'd give it about a week to return to normal.
The phone was warm, but not hot. I used stock charger and stock cable. Its actually gone already. I can't notice it at least.

Looks like a screen burn in.. You probably have really high brightness? Or your device was taking long during the boot up at the Google icon stage?

This happened to me when an app required to restart my phone and a weird static image showed up on my screen. The Google logo was temporarily burned in. I shut the phone down for a few minutes, turned it back on and it was gone
