Hey guys,
I would like to find out the optimal settings for gps for our n9005 for europe.
I looked at the gps.conf and instead of using a "normal" ntp server like the one for europe, it uses some test server instead?
Also, there is no AGPS activated and also no supl server etc.
Is this unnecessary since we got lte or would it help with a faster fix?
---
Would like to find the optimal settings....
So please let me know if you know anything about it.

Hey i had purchased the galaxy 3 months ago.In the stock firmware i get the gps lock in around 3-4 minutes in india. But the moment i had changed the gps server from north-america.pool.ntp.org to in.pool.ntp.org i get the gps lock in 5 sec with 10 sat's.
For your region gps server do visit the website pool.ntp.org
did someone try it?
I found a special fasterfix program that does the same...
where to change the gps server???
my phone is rooted i only need the location of the file
Will be nice to post how u did that?
@Humpie - if there is a program doing that same please share with us its name
I'm not full of strange to start digging in internal android files without know what to do
use root explorer (or similar) and navigate to /system/etc/. set it to read/write mode (in the upper right corner there is a button for that) and edit the gps.conf file as written above
whatever i do i cannot get a lock it's saying that it cannot get a fix on my location
i changed it from europe to india(in)
am using a custom rom-kyrillos v4 rRC

Hello everyone ...
I upgraded to Gingerbread, I realized that there was no longer among the programs the compass ... So after downloading it again, opening it, I realized that was not working properly, so I had to calibrate ... Then I also downloaded fasterfix from the market ...
Result GPS and FIX my SGS are back to work!
In the hope of being useful to you I apologize for the English translation is not so accurate!
Let me know if this suggestion helped you solve your problems with GPS and FIX!!
I downloaded a free aps called Gps Aids (from Market) and now the GPS on my SGS (froyo) works beautifully.
what about 2.3.4 FW?
I use fasterfix on 2.3.4
Alwais remember to calibrate your compass... And if u don't know how try search on google... ;-)
GPS Aids is the best apk for GPS fix...

I dunno about all the above gps applications as to how good they are, cos they workat different levels of efficiency at different times, but I have seen that if you have the correct gps.conf file based on the geographical location (continent preferably) it has always given me a within 30 sec lock and a <30 m accuracy everytime.
Hi, sorry if this is covered elsewhere. Mods feel free to remove if I missed it.
I got very frustrated with a silly problem this week after I updated to the 4.3 leak. Everything seemed fine except the Play Store and Google Music wouldn't work over 3G. It had no problems on Wifi and I could see both apps and tracks but none would download or play over the air.
I tried editing the APN settings but the options were greyed out and I couldn't add any more as they wouldn't save. I only thought to try Three's own page for an over-the-air text yesterday, and fortunately all is now well.
If you have this problem just visit http://www.three.co.uk/settings and put in your details. The list isn't logical but N7100 is in there.
So it seems the 4.3 leak doesn't have the correct Three UK APN settings. It may apply to other operators too. Let me know if you think there's any use in trying to build a definitive list of global operator APN settings pages and I'll start one as a general XDA thread.
There's this... On Google Play
It's an international APN setting database (thanks Dr Ketan) but I don't think it would have helped me as I couldn't amend my own settings.
there's a very good list of APN values here: http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html

That's really useful, thanks. Wouldn't have worked for me this time, as I couldn't enter any values, but will be worth keeping.

I recently got a Tmobile Note 3 that I unlocked via unlock code and since first boot, I've noticed few things that I don't understand or seen on any other phone.
1) There are a number of apps that are there that I don't believe come with stock phone and I would like to know if its OK to remove/disable them. Also would like to know what they do?
VoLTE Configuration Menu
SSConfig
[/LIST
2) Secondly, everytime I boot or restart the phone, phone shows all the different commands that it is running. I'm sure there is setting somewhere to disable that but I don't see it in Dev Tools.
Thanks

VoLTE = http://www.radio-electronics.com/in...-long-term-evolution/voice-over-lte-volte.php
SS config I have no clue, assume it's to do with building configs/development etc
The different commands that the phone is running at boot up must be due to the unlock (bootloader?) - a reflash of stock firmware may fix this

It's difficult to take the picture of the commands that are running as they only show up for a brief second or so but I will give it a try later today.
Apart from above mentioned apps, there is another app called "Samsung Keystring". Is it OK to delete/disable these apps?

I think the keystring is for service modes, like connecting to networks etc, can't really see to much about it though. I wouldn't delete it just incase
