[Q] Action Memo to Browser stopped working - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So Verizon issued a software up for the Galaxy Note 3 over the weekend (12/14/2013). After updating my phone, I noticed that the Action Memo app is no longer working properly. When I write a note and click the browser link to search the web for what I wrote, I get a message that says "Unfortunately, Action Memo has stopped." All the other Action Memo features, like sending the note to contacts, email, task, etc. is working fine but the browser link won't work. It's driving me crazy and I'm trying so hard not to have to do a factory reset as it is very cumbersome to try and get the phone settings back to the way I have it. One thing I also noticed (not sure if it's related or not), when I click on "Settings", scroll down to Accounts, click on "Samsung account", then click on "Storage usage", then click on "Memo, S Memo, S Note (.snb)", I get a message that says "Unable to open file. There is no application to open it with." Why would it say no app to open with when Action Memo is installed and should open?
Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I had the same issue.
It occurs after Google Search update.
I solved reinstalling Google Search.
Anyway, now Action Memo to Browser now is linked to Google Search.
Anyone knows how to link to i.e. Firefox ?

CALLtrack....

I wondered if anyone had tried calltrack app. It basically logs any call, missed call etc to your google calender. I looked for it on the marketplace but it's not available for me. Probably another tmobile thing with not getting access to some market apps...
ANyone tried it and if it's good, got the apk?

I believe we don't see it because Google STILL has not approved the Desire on the market... and yup, I would like this too...

I messaged the developer as I couldn't get the application from the market due to having a Desire - pfffft!
He sent me the apk which I have posted......
CallTrack logs your phone activity to your Google Calendar. You can select the type of calls to log (incoming, outgoing, and missed) and the calendar to log them in. You can also dump your current call log to your calendar.

Working superbly for me. Suggestion: go to your gmail calender and create a seperate calender called desirecalls or something... then in the options in calltrack, select that!

This is great! I created a new calendar on Google called CallTrack. It showed up on my phone after a few minutes and all my calls are now logged to that calendar. That way they don't clog up my main calendar and, I assume but haven't tried yet, won't show up in Outlook after I sync.

Just grabbed the "Call Track zip-file", installed it and tried to launch it.
Now I get the message:
No Calendars Found
Please open the Calendar App and add a Calendar (Menu > More > My Calendars

I already have my Google Account connectet with a Calendar called "Phone Call" (This one is from a previous Insatllation HTC-Sense with WIN 6.5) There, it worked, but now with Android I´m surely making a tiny mistake.....
Can Somone help me?

Download the new version from market it contains some fixes for froyo.

Thx for the hint....
Marketplace won´t let me download it for some reason (Maybe because I don´t have a DESIRE).
But finally I found a Download somwhere (uhhhh, took me a lot of time to find it....) in the Net with a newer Version (CallTrack_1.10.apk).
Now it works fine!!! Great Tool !

This is an awesome application. I highly recommend it.
I am using this CallTrack app too on my Galaxy S and created a new calendar call "Phone Calls" to track all the calls. However though it seems like I can see all call logs on my Galaxy S "Phone Call" calendar, I cannot seem to sync them onto my main Google Calendar, i.e. if I login to my Gmail through a PC and open up the calendar, it only shows the "Phone Calls" calendar without any entries. Can anyone confirm if this is normal or is this a bug? If I have to reset the Galaxy S and reload all the apps and settings, will the "Phone Call" calendar still shows the historical entries?

Rename your calendar to PhoneCalls. Avoid any space in your calendar name.
I am not able to back up Calltrack1.10 apk. Error says: unauthorized

3 issues

1- when I make a calendar appointment it defaults to my work Microsoft Exchange calendar as opposed to my gmail calendar.
How do I make my gmail the default calendar?
2- I use swype but lately it seems to be gltiched.
Lets say I have swyped the word hello and then pressed SEND in the chat program (Whats app).
Instead of the suggestion box clearing, it'll show me all possible suggestions for the word hello. Like Heli, Jello, Help and so on.
The problem is the other person i am chatting with sees me as "typing...." and waits for me to finish talking to respond. Whereas I have finished but this gltich is fooling the system. I wanted to clear the cache or something but couldn't (maybe because it is a system app?).
3- I use Dolphin Browser Mini. Most of the time when I long pause on a link (to get the menu to open - open in background - bookmark link - save link), I won't get this pop up menu. Instead I will get the smaller menu (select text - gesture - fullscreen - close tab). Even though I am positive I am long pressing on a link not on a blank space on a webpage.

Well i can only help you on the first point but give you some info in the others:
When you make a calendar appointment in s-planner the first box (above title) is to change where you want it to be synced. Justo choose the one you need.
In swype or other introduction method you have the option to let it give you hints, disable them but you mustn't make an erro in your typing/swyping. I don't use swype so it's just an idea...
I tried dolphin browser and deleted the app just because of it, still using stock browser on my note.
Hope it helped or gave you some ideas

In regards to te calendar, yes I realize that I can change it at the time of creating an entry but it defaults to MS Exchange. I want to change default to gmail as I use that 99% of the time.
I don't want to turn of swype suggestions because they are useful. I need to know how to re-install or clear the data in swype because its not working properly.
Can you go to your phone settings>applications>manage applications and go to the exchange app and select "clear defaults"?

I changed only once???????
Regarding swype, go the definitions of text input and click on the mini widget and define your language and other stuff,clear your dictionary, reboot note.
As of gmail being standard: definitions --- accounts and sync --- open you preferred email account--- defintitions----again choose preferred account--- check the box "preferred mail account" (or similiar, it's the second box). At the end of the page mark sync. agenda and task......
back to homescreen and try it out. Sync your e-mail accounts first..

So, if you are not trying solutions, why ask for help?
clear defaults will do no harm, the system will only ask the next time it calls a function/program for you to choose the action to take, and will let you choose the default again.

The swype thing didnt work.
And I can't follow your steps for the gmail issue. When I go to Accounts & Sync I see all my emails there. There is no "definitions" option nor s there "preferred mail account". I don't see these items.

Because you seemed unsure. It was like "hey try this, it may work, or it may not".
Now it seems clearer after you explained that it will ask me to take an action the next time i run the app. Thanks.

[Q] GMail app switches accounts randomly, removes reply info, moves cursor to bottom

Hey everyone,
I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this, but on my Galaxy Note 3 (which I love otherwise) the only problem I'm having is with the GMail app where I have about 10 email accounts I use via Google Apps For Business. When I save a draft replying from one email account, when I go back to that draft it switches the account to my default email account. It also often removes the reply like e.g. "On October 13, [email protected] wrote:". And whenever I open an email draft the cursor jumps to the bottom of the email and I have to scroll back up.
Anyone else having these problems?? This is killing me!

One suggestion (not sure if it will help): go to your App drawer, find the Google folder, then drag the Gmail app up to the "App Info" bar at the top. Inside "App Info", press "Force stop". Then under "Storage", press "Clear data" and below that, press" Clear cache". Then open Gmail again and see if the issue reappears.

Galaxy S4 Google Edition and Facebook App

Hello,
I am using a new Galaxy S4 Google Edition and when searching for the facebook app, the actual app does not appear. Facebook messenger comes up, as well as other facebook apps but the official facebook app does not come up. If I put in a search for facebook, not press the search button, and select the facebook app that appears in the drop down, I get the dreaded "can not retrieve information from server" message. I have tried all of the other tips (clearing cache, uninstalling updates, resetting the phone, etc.) without any success. All other apps that I use are fine.
Any ideas?

[Q] Note 3 S-Planner Issue

Hi, I have the following problem with S-Planner application and do not seem to find a way to fix it - I mainly use S-Planner as an Outlook Calendar and I sync it with MS Exchange, my issue is that I have MS Lync meetings scheduled in it. When I open one of these Lync meetings invites into S-Planner I have a direct URL (link) which directs me directly to the Lync Meeting and automatically opens the Lync app. The issue here is that when I press that link it automatically opens via the stock Samsung browser and does not give me an option to choose what browser to use to open it. The Lync Meeting invite in S-Planner does not work with the Samsung Stock Browser as it does not seem to recognize that Lync is installed on the phone, so nothing ever happens. On the other hand it works perfectly with Firefox and Dolphin browsers, but as I said I do not have an option to make one of them the default browser to open URLs in S-Planner tasks. I checked the Stock Samsung Browser in application manager and no defaults what so ever are set for it, the "defaults" button is also greyed out. I also tried making Firefox the default browser for the phone following many articles, but even though it was set as the default browser, opening a URL from within S-Planner kept on opening with the Samsung Stock browser. Any way around this please, can anything be done to change that ?
Does anyone have an answer to that ? Even if it is not possible, please do let me know.
you have the option in the first time the chice to choose the default browser you can reinstall all the browser app and chose what u need in the first start will give u the choxe to choose ur default browser or go to application to default application and chose what u want

Thank you for your reply but as I mentioned there aren't any defaults set neither on S-Planner nor on the Samsung Stock Browser, I checked both in the application manager and they have both the "No Defaults Set" note on them, the "Clear Defaults" button is greyed out (inactive) on both of them, despite that when I open a URL (web link) from within S-Planner it does not ask me which web browser to use to open it, but goes straight to the Samsung Stock Web Browser despite the fact that it has no defaults set.
