I have recently installed cyanogenmod 11-20131124-albinoman887-jfltexx onto my galaxy s4, and I am having issues with facebook not showing any images and messenger not working properly as well. Everything else seems to work fine. Facebook did initially work well, but (i think) after I accidently clicking update for the facebook app from blackmarket appstore, it started to not show any images. Is there a fix for this? This might be an obscure situation.
also I did try clearing cache and data, uninstalling and reinstalling, ect. maybe its the problem with the rom?

I had a quick look through this area and didn't see anything about it so hopefully someone will be able to help.
I was running stock 4.2.1 unlocked and rooted on my Nexus 7 and everything had been fine but in the last couple of days 3 apps haven't been able to update properly.
The Play app tried to update Nexus Media Importer, BBC iPlayer and Facebook but every time it tried it left a message for each saying:
"Update for <app name> could not be downloaded due to an error (Error while retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0])"
Everything else seems to work OK and my Nexus has just updated to 4.2.2 but the error persists.
I tried uninstalling Nexus Media Importer but get a similar error when trying to reinstall it.
I looked in 'Storage' and found that somehow it was using .98GB of my RAM so I uninstalled some stuff and got it down to 748MB (still a lot?) but still I cannot install Nexus Media Importer or update BBC iPlayer and Facebook - same error.
Any ideas? I can browse and do everything else so my Internet connection is fine and my 'phone updated BBC iPlayer and Facebook without any problems so it's definitely local to the Nexus.
Also what does 'Apps (app data and media content)' refer to other than the obvious? It shows pictures, videos, downloads, etc. separately and I don't have that many apps installed so I'm bothered as to why it's using so much RAM. (All cache is cleared, BTW)
Searching here I found something about stopping Google Services Framework and clearing data followed by a restart but that didn't do it, also I have a second Google Play account so I switched to that but it was the same.
In case anyone goes looking for the same problem in future, the cure was to delete the main email account that the Play store uses (Settings / Accounts / Google), then recreate it and all will be well. It will delete emails, calendar entries, etc. but they'll be reloaded when you log back in so nothing will be lost.
Hi,
I have no idea why, but I don't get any push notifications from Facebook Messenger. There is no sound, no vibraitions, nothing in notications. And yet, in the app itself I see that someone wrote to me.
Symptoms:
No notifactions
No chatheads
Full Facebook app itself does notifactions: it tells me about new friends, birthdays etc. Also: when I open a new conversation via Facebook app, it creates that chathead bubble. And with that pinned to my screen I can get atleast some sounds.
When I manage apps, under Messenger, I usually have two services: ChatHeadService and MqttPushService (sometimes also EventService and
I still get notifications from other apps, like SMS, Facebook itself, Google Play etc.
What I did:
I cleared all the cache and app data for Facebook and Messenger (multiple times!)
I reinstalled both Facebook and Messenger
I restarted my phone and did Wipe Cache via Recovery.
I double checked if I have notifications enabled both in my Messenger app and in Application Settings
I have enabled synchronization.
Nothing worked. And yes, until... I have no idea what, everything worked just great.
I'm using Galaxy S4 i9505 with I9505XXUEMJ7. And Messenger/Facebook are the newest, freshly installed versions from the market.
Do you have ANY idea how to fix my problem? Maybe there is some KNOX block or whatever that I'm not aware of?
Out of the Blue, the exact same symptoms. Everything was working fine until a few weeks ago. Suddenly, facebook messenger gives me no notifications at all.
What I tried more was installing older facebook and messenger versions without any luck!
My device is Galaxy S4 i9505 with XXUFNB9 no root
My problem was on Facebook side.
Try creating totally new account and log in with it into your Phone. Check if you recieve notifications.
If yes, go to Facebook settings and delete all (ALL) apps that you have connected. From what I gathered the problem was in one of the apps that probably was stealing all the attention.
Yeap! I disabled all apps from Facebook settings and... blink! Notifications! Don't know which app did the trick but don't really mind. Thank you for your time!!

Hi All,
I have a rooted 4.3 Galaxy s4 at&t. I had fb messenger and snapchat for months and everything have been working fine. All of a sudden both app notification stop working. I have tried everything possible, using older version of the app, reinstalling and clearing data.. Nothing seems to works.
Any1 have any idea please let help me out.
I Just got the International S7 edge two days ago, prior to getting this phone, I had no experience with rooting, or root apps. I looked into rooting, and found out how useful it can be so today I decided to root for the first time. First thing I installed titanium backup made a backup of all apps and started deleting away any duplicate google apps that I wasn't using. Gmail, Play Videos, books, etc etc, nothing major I thought. I saw contacts storage by google, and right above that I had the stock contacts app, so I thought I wouldn't need it. I uninstalled google contacts storage and my phone right away started acting up, giving me the error, "android.process. acore". I have looked all over google for answers with other phones, and tried everything but nothing has worked.
I have tried:
Erasing contacts data and cache
[*]Reinstalling google contacts
Actually it gets stuck on the installation cursor when I click install BUT when i reboot my phone the app seems to have been installed however the error regarding "android.process.acore" resumes coming up incessantly. At first I thought there was something wrong with my app, so I tried to reinstall another app and same thing, it got stuck again, I suspect the issue is HERE, but I have no clue how to get past this issue. I tried to buy the pro version of titanium back up and I went into prerferences and changed AUTO/direct to AUTO/indirect but still the same issue remained. If anyone knows anything regarding that please let me know
[*] LAST OPTION: to flash a stock rom for SM-G935F (couldn't find one though)
When contacts storage is uninstalled there is no error but I cannot sync contacts from ANY other account, like my microsoft account. I can't even add contacts into my contacts book manually when it's uninstalled. I haven't tried much when it is installed because the rate that the "anroid.process.acore" error comes up make it fking impossible to do anything on the phone!
I am really hoping someone on here can help me. I have been looking all night for a solution, browsing forums, but nothing has worked for me. If anyone can link me to a stock rom for SM-G935F, I will have to just try that.
I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you, but if you get your phone working again always us TiB to freeze apps, and make sure things still work, before you actually delete them. Good luck.
The Gmail app keeps closing. It just started doing this today. Cleared the storage, uninstalled updates, disabled and re-enabled the app, and I also cleared the storage on play services. Anyone else having this issue? I really don't want to do a phone reset.
No, been using mine off & on today without anything unusual...
Sounds like you did everything to check it and assuming you rebooted. kinda weird
uninstall updates for android system webviewer. gmail, banking apps, facebook was force closing. once i did that everything is working fine

I uninstalled this and it worked. All of the sudden this evening Gmail stopped working as did the Google app. Thanks for the fix, but why did this happen in the first place, lol. I just want my OnePlus 9 pro!!
