What is this menu for?
Please help!!!!!!!!!:crying:

Hi.
I´m no crack...
but have you installed CWM? then you should try pressing POWER + Vol+, after appearing LG-Logo release and immediately press both again. Then you´re in hard reset mode, press POWER 2x to enter CWM (or if not installed hard reset your device).
Or you try flashing back to stock ROM as described here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Good luck!!!

Its about unbricking F320!

You enter download mode by holding Vol+ while plugging into usb, not holding power and Vol+.

yes, could be the easiest solution!

I've tried pressing POWER + Vol+, after appearing LG-Logo release and immediately press both again.
But this has no effect: LG logo is still hanging there.

I bricked my d801 and this method worked for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471370&highlight=unbrick. I was stuck on the LG logo as well with the LED flashing. Not sure if it will work for yours, but can't hurt to give it a shot.
Try powering off without pulling the battery. The way to do that is to hold volume down + power and hold it for about 10-15 seconds after the logo disappears. The logo may reappear but keep holding the buttons down and the screen should go blank pretty quickly. Make sure you have the updated drivers installed on your computer. Then follow the instructions in that post. Make sure you go to the Options menu and select upgrade recovery. Good luck!
As for reading Korean, use the photo recognition function in Google Translate. It does a decent job.

That ain't no brick. You're in the recovery console. You have to hit a buton combination to get out of it.
Press one of the volume keys together with the power on button (red phone). I think it was those. Could be another combo though.
Still not working sir I used vol down + power not happend anything, when vol up + power my tattoo start blank screen and green led indicator only ...

I can (very cheap) buy a HTC Tattoo which is broken.
The problem is (seller says) : When he try to turn on HTC Tattoo its just vibrating.
Can anyone say me is it hardware or software problem?

Hi, the easiest option is to remove the battery n replace it, then turn the phone on. The other option is to keep pressing the buttons home and call end, together.

Is there a hard reset or turning Tattoo in DFU mode (something like that) for flashing?

Sorry for the late response, you can go to the boot screen by pressing the home button and end button together... This method will only work if the phone is rooted. Else, create a Gold card and get into the fast boot mode by pressing vol down and end button simultaneously lemme know if it worked.

Madaleno, looking at the attachment it shows that your phone is not rooted, which means that you cant apply update via SD card.. it will give u an error message. Create a gold card by grabbing a smart phone from someone, it can be windows mobile or android based.... Once a gold card is created, you can flash a stock ROM. To navigate on the menu, based on ur attachment, use volume up and down keys and call button to select.
If it is not rooted maybe you still have warranty for the phone so you can send it to free service.
Well... no warranty...
And volume up/down does nothing...

You don't need your tattoo to make a gold card.
Ask someone with a Android device, and put you sd card and do it.
Cheers
Got GOLD!
I've used a symbian to read CID and created a goldcard
Can someone give me some guidelines what to do next?
With your phone turned off, press power + volume down buttons at the same time.
Then wait a litle and press back until appears "FASTBOOT" in the screen.
Then connect the usb cable and flash the stock ROM.

Recovery from a completely dead phone / captivate with no power

This should be a sticky or added to a existing sticky.
Do you get no power when you turn on your phone? Nothing shows up on the screen at all. You have the worst brick possible that is recoverable. I wished this post came out before I did a warranty swap.
Here's how to fix: Credit goes to OP
- You need Odin program before starting.
1. Remove the battery, external SD card and SIM card.
2. Wait 10 seconds.
3. Open odin3
4. Insert battery.
5. Connect usb cable.
6. HOLD VOL+ and VOL- while plugging in USB
Got download screen and flashed with ODIN..
Let ODin finish.
*** This program recovered my dead phone with no power, nothing shows up on my screen. - Dead and also a stuck boot up screen.
I saw another post that has the similar set of instructions 6. HOLD VOL+ and VOL- and then press the power button. Nothing happens.
I am curious how people this post has helped. Can you respond when you these directions gets your phone up. Thank you.
this is cOLD. and has been posted numerous times.
A.K.A. Check [STOCK] Odin 1 click. and this does not recover from a completely dead phone that doesn't have button combo to download mode.

Jtag is usefull for empty or totally corrupted ROM recovery.
But if you see this, your phone is FAR from brick !
Just press the keys, bring it back to download mode
Then plug to cable and flash a working firmware again.
No special tools is needed,
No need to waste time and money send for repair,
Don't waste your good phone and don't break it for jtag.

Are you seeing the Phone-!-PC symbol? I was in a situation where my phone wouldn't accept the the up/down key press to enter download mode. I ended up having to make a jig which basically will force the phone into download mode. You can search the forums on how to make one.

This is what most people always do to enter dl mode.
However, many phones shipped without the button combos needed for it to work. In that case it is possible to make a USB jig to trigger download mode manually. see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551

I had the exact same "phone - ! - PC" brick screen and vol up + vol down + power only took me to "unknown upload mode". I eventually figured out by myself that holding ONLY vol down + power for 10 sec is what takes you to download mode from that particular screen.
Summary: Anyone who's getting "Phone--!--PC" and the three-button combo takes you to "unknown upload mode", try holding vol down + power for 10 seconds.

Your description is really hard to understand. The screen you are posting about means NO Death.Actually i have had it a few times, and download mode is accessible from this screen, recovery mode is not though. This screen refers to a bad connection while flashing which is usually not harmful(unless you are updating bootloaders) and it is easy to recover from it.

Umm.. Maybe its because you were pressing the wrong keys in the first place. I'm surprised you got that combo working in 2.1 (which is what you are implying)..
Also, the picture you showed I've had a few times, and I never needed a jig. You simply pull the power, use Home+Vol down+power, and THEN plug the phone in by USB. JIG's are RARELY needed, and in some cases, people who think they need a jig might just have a faulty phone, or may simply not be willing to experiment to get it working again.
Sorry, its good that you are contributing, but I myself recall posting similar posts to the forum many times in the past, and many others have as well. But nevertheless, good to hear that you got it working!

Nexus 4 wont start

Hello
The device was working nicely until a month ago. Then suddenly, it stopped turning on.
Since yesterday, I've tried the methods suggested on http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-4/312151-solved-nexus-4-won-t-turn-charge.html, but that has not solved the problem. Only that now, the google screen and then the cross screen comes up, but then nothing. It stays that way forever.
I tried using Odin to connect, then nexus root toolkit, but both donot connect to the device.
Please help.
thanks

You should see if you can do a factory reset. Hold volume down and turn the phone on, it should go into bootloader mode. From there choose recovery mode with the volume keys. Once you're at a screen saying 'no command' hold volume up and tap the power button, then select factory reset.
No, it doesnt go into the bootloader mode at all.
My Nexus 4 is on and in the boot animation. It's been in this animation for about 30 minutes now and I don't know what's wrong with it. I cleared the Cache and did a factory reset. Other then that it seems to work fine. Running Lollipop.
Anyone?

It's actually as follows to get into recovery.
- Press and hold Volume Up and Volume Down
- Press and hold the power button until you reach the boot-loader
- Use volume keys to select 'Recovery Mode'
- Press and hold Power button for about 2 seconds and then tap the Volume UP button
- Continue through your Recovery Options as normal
* Also, I think pressing and holding power button powers the device off.

I think I see the problem...It happened to me once, too. I just kept retrying and it eventually worked. I'm not sure exactly, but try doing the following commands;
- Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down keys
- Press and hold the Power button
- Release the Volume key
*And once again, good luck! | If all else fails, try pulling the battery and leaving it unplugged for a few minutes.

Wait.. Are you in the Boot-loader and trying the Recovery commands and that pops up, or are you trying to get into the Boot-loader. *Sorry for the confusion, my fault.
well, i listed my steps above. that is what i followed, and now the phone is working ok. it is still charging.

Galaxy A20 - BRICKED NO DOWNLOAD MODE

Hi All,
Apologies if this is not posted in the right forum - ADMINS please move if applicable.
Thank you for all the great MODS and Support received over the years, you have supplied me with great reading material and DIY tips.
I have been flashing and modding since the Galaxy S2 and had my fair share of bricked devices , which I always fixed, but this one baffles me as I did not do anything to it, yet!
Little Background
Bought my wife a new Samsung Galaxy A20 (SM-A205F/DS), she dropped it :silly: and screen got broken.
Order new screen and replaced it, before closing I tested device tested and everything was working 100%
Phone worked like it should, then I closed it and now the phone is not booting up.
What have I tried
- Tried the Recovery Mode (Power + Volume Up) - No Go
- Tried to get Download Mode (Power + Volume Up + Volume Down) - No Go
- Tried battery reset (Power + Volume Down) - Phone Starts but gets Black Screen and turns OFF
- Tried battery removal (Remove and Re-connect Battery on Main Board) - No Go
- Tried Data Cable Start - No Go
- Tried ODIN - No Go - Does not detect Phone
- Tried FlashTool - No Go - Does not detect Phone and also does not have MediaTek Chipset
- Tried ADB and Fastboot - Device not detected
Error Code Received
The below only flashes on for 1 sec and ONLY appears when pressing the Power Button - had to record and take photo
Code:
#Reboot Recovery Cause is [BL:Recovery Mode Set by key]#
Support SINGLE-SKU
#Block-Based OTA
Supported API: 3
#MANUAL MODE v1.0.0#
Rebooting....

It responds after 15 seconds, showing the Samsung A20 Logo Secured by Knox, how long should you keep the Volume Up + Volume Down Buttons
If the screen turns on plug it right into the pc and see if it can be detected by Odin or by "adb devices" and try to recover it

Hey, I have tried that already, the screen switches on and stays on for +-20 seconds and then turns off before displaying the Samsung Logo and if you press the Power Button again it displays the Error Code as per my original post and switches off, if you press any other button it does nothing

I got it to work with your suggestion but with a twist.
For the device to get into download mode you must have the USB Cable already connected to your phone and pc.
Odin detects device, will flash software later and give feedback

Yes I plugged it in pretty quick when I did it
Sometimes it doesn't reboot if it's plugged in

Phone rebooted, showed the Blue Screen Android Dude (Installing System) for 1 second and switches off.
Tried to post Picture and Video links but I am not allowed Yet

Hey, ok I tried all different stock firmwares - from earliest to latest and all result with same error state as per the original post.
Code:
#Reboot Recovery Cause is [BL:Recovery Mode Set by key]#
Support SINGLE-SKU
#Block-Based OTA
Supported API: 3
#MANUAL MODE v1.0.0#
Rebooting....
Is there anything else we can try or is this now just an expensive paperweight

I have tried, but as suspected OEM Lock is still Active and there is currently no way of disabling it, as I do not have access to the main os.
Im sorry, if you used Odin and unchecked auto reboot, you have to hold power and down for 10 seconds, then immediately hold volume down and power for recovery then boot to system. If installing twrp that is. That screen doesn't change after a flash with auto reboot off. I'd reflash and reboot to recovery from what I'm seeing
Or
If your good with wires you can short pins 4 and 5 using 333k resistor and plug into phone, it'll get you to download mode
Same Exact Problem
literally the same exact problem / symptoms.
It happened to me immediately after an automatic system update
it seems to me that the aftermarket screen somehow lost full compatibility.
i used odin and also tried installing all the available updates and they were successful but issue remained
please let me know if you come up with a solution i will do the same if i find one.

I have the same issue right now. Without the error message displayed.
