[Q] Stuck in bootloop and nothing I tried works! - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

UPADTE: My nvram folder is also gone. Is there anything at all to be done? Or have I purchased a paperweight?
UPDATE: Found out its my IMEI which has disappeared during the OTA from 4.2.2 to 4.3. This happened while 100% stock. Anyway I can get it back? Or at least boot Kitkat?
So my Nexus 4 stopped working after I finally decided to update it to 4.4.2. It was stuck at the starting apps loader then shut off. I proceeded to turn it back on but it got stuck in a bootloop. I’ve tried re flashing 4.3 through fastboot. It seems to flash fine (With the added error that "x".sig was not found) but again gets stuck at a bootloop. Ive tried flashing 4.4.2 the same way (with the same added error) to the same result. I also tried adb sideloading them but it either gave me a "status 7" or "E: signature verification failed". When I tried to "Fastboot update" it gave me the error that the partition to flash it on did not exist. im stumped. Don't know what else to try. Anything?
Note:
-I am not rooted
-USB debugging is not enabled (and now I cant since it doesn’t boot to OS)
-I'm on Ubuntu 13.10
-Also got Windows
- I got the files that I tried to install from here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Thanks! :good:

I had the same issue and the solution was flashing stock android by Ncry (http://goo.gl/l0iuEn). If you havent used this software, go to the one click menu with the phone on bootloader mode.
Hope this helps!

Did you try wiping cache, Dalvik, and data? Factory reset?

I did. Even tried from fastboot. What if I reinstall the system. And then apply an update from sideload?

Can you copy the list of text from the command window when you do the flash-all.bat.

I think I bricked my NS

I was flashing CM7. This is what I did:
Rooted, ClockworkMod v3.0.0.5 from Rom Manager.
From recovery did a BackUp (seems useless because it doesn't do anything.)
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe Cache partition
Install zip from sdcard - selected cm7 - got a Status Error 7
Now the phone won't boot, stays on the Google screen, I can get into the recovery though.
Any ideas? I am downloading the Stock 2.3.3 image.
Thanks!

I tried doing that from ClockworkMod, gave me an error, it was a ridiculously small file, doesn't seem like a backup.
Even the stock gives me a Status Error 7.
Any ideas?
you didnt brick, just download a a new rom, sounds like it was a bad download.. if the phone shows a screen it isnt bricked...

I'm downloading it again. Should I rename it to update.zip? Odin, that's the software right?
I think your problem is because you are using the clockwork mod for I9020, where as for rogers you should be using clockwork for i9023 -- at least this was my case, I have i9020a rogers
you can get it from this link 2nd file.
after using this one you shouldn't be getting "E: can't mount cache" and you shall be able to repeat rooting/flashing steps.

I was feeling so, either the ROM or the recovery. I'm just flashing the recovery, thanks for your help.
Also, how do I manually install ClockworkMod?
What is your computer OS? do you have android sdk?
In general everything you need is in this post

It worked, I used fastoot and Terminal. Worked like a charm. Thanks again.

What can be the problem when rooting?

I used wugfresh's tool kit for unlocking and rooting my N7.
Unlocking went fine, but when I clicked to root, it just stayed on bootloader until I pressed the power button after 2 hours to kick out of it.
It just stayed on that screen.
Its defo unlocked as the lock symbol comes up during reboot.
However, I tried to "flash stock+unroot" but again it just stayed on the bootloader screen which means that the device is unlocked but not rooted as there's no superuser files or busybox installed.
Can anyone help me solve this problem as its really annoying me?
Thanks.
Anyone?
Don't use toolkits. Just flash a recovery with fastboot.
Code:
fast boot flash recovery recovery.IMG
then flash a superuser.zip. done

Not a problem. Give me a second to find the Adb and fast boot executables
Edit: couldn't find the sperate files.
Install the android SDK and use PDAnet to install the android drivers for fast boot and Adb. Then use Adb reboot boot loader then the command I said in the first post.

[Q] Can't boot any ROM!

Well, I think I need some help with this one.
So, I have been using Resurrection Remix as my daily driver for a while now (to be able to run lollipop). As I noticed the G2 now has an official lollipop build, so I wanted to install that(cam sucks on most ROMs and overall stability isn't always great). Since I figured the best way would be to go back to stock, and then run the OTA updates.
I made a backup of my current rom, found this, and tried the TOT method. Everything ran fine, but when the 85% reboot thing happened, it booted straight into TWRP. Decided to reboot to system via TWRP, but after showing the LG logo for about 5-10s, it goed straight back into recovery. Since i figured the install failed or something I decided to factory reset, and restore from my backup. TWRP says the restore is succesful, but it still won't boot into my ROM. Reinstalling any ROM doesn't work either
Already tried this, no result(, and I'm afraid of trying the above guide again, but let me know if i should just try again)!
I do have access to my recovery and download, and ADB still works. The only thing I see is that instead of this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Mine says this:
(My PC is in Dutch )
(The LG Driver on the guide was an older version than the one on my pc still, but I don't think that will cause a problem).
Hope my phone isn't gone forever, and thanks for helping in advance!!
-Scrytal
EDIT:
Tried the above TOT method again, apparatly it skips a lot of things, and is done in like 30s, so it's not doing its job. I have no idea what's causing that though!
EDIT2:
IF ANYONE STILL FINDS THIS, this was the solution for me. I didn't know LG had a 'official' tool for fixing our sh*t . Hope it still helps you!
You should edit the title to include the word (solved) or (fixed).

No 6p drivers after 7.1.2 update

Hello,

Have tried unninstalling, installing again, installing drivers from Android Studio, installing some I found on internet supposedly to the 6p and no luck. Can't connect My 6p to Windows again.
Am I the only one facing this issue?
Windows 7 Pro 64bits.
Nexus 6p stock.
Regards.
Try to install manually. If you have a yellow exclamation mark on the device choose to manually install it and to choose from the list. pick the mobile device and you should see two drivers already installed. mtp and usb mtp. pick the usb mtp and you should be good to go.

Never re-lock your bootloader. Once it is unlocked, leave it this way. This is a good way to brick your phone. Especially now that your phone is spontaneously bootlooping!

Little Help needed to get my 6p alive again

please help me.
I have completely wiped my device. nothing is there in internal storage. Just the TWRP folder.
it has unlocked bootloader and twrp installed
but it is the unrooted device.
so please tell me what is best for me?
shall I root it or can I directly go to stock Oero?
I have already downloaded stock file '8.1.0 (OPM6.171019.030.E1, Jul 2018)- angler-opm6.171019.030.e1-factory-1abcb2f1.zip'
I am confused, how should I proceed?
please explain me stepwise, so I can save my phone.

You will be fine I wipe my internal from time to time. Just make sure you update your bootloader and vendor. If you use the flash all I'm pretty sure it's done for you but if using fastboot method follow the steps in the hiesenberg guide. Just so you know once on the latest Oreo builds from what I've read can no longer downgrade. I haven't verified or read up on it myself but maybe look into if you think you might want to go back to nougat .

i have tried that earlier, but still i got the red triangle.
since i failed to go to stock today i installed latest twrp-3.2.2-0-angler using latest SDK tool.
then i flashed Magisk-v16.0 and then ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.4-20161008-angler and it immediately went to google logo and stuck there.
just use this to get back to stock https://developers.google.com/android/images
all you do is boot in to fast boot plug into pc and run flash all
there are ways to save data but you already wiped so no need
if your still confused just look up a guide of how to flash factory images and install the usb drivers

It looks good but didn't seem to flash radio and bootloader maybe just not in screen shot should boot but if it still won't boot in to the stock recovery and factory reset might help
You could have the bad big cores try flashing one of the 4 core fixes. Also I wait to flash magisk until after first boot. It can hang you on the Google screen .
