Snap Dragon is the name of a cpu company and it works as a battery saver which have that cpu. The I9500 has exynos processor and I9505 has snap Dragon. If u wanna use a battery saving app try juice defender. It's awesome for me and better than most battery savour.

Most of these apps just manage wifi/mobile data and claim to improve battery life, well , i hardly have those on, i mostly use my phone for normal things, like calling or playing games or listening to music when out ..
Hi all
I noticed that the battery runs out quickly.
It holds only 12 hours in normal use.
While I was at 48 hours with my Huawei mate 8
Is there a solution to this problem?
I have attached the phone version if it can help.
Wait bro, your firmware version is outdated, latest Lollipop firmware is 2.20.40.184, but yours is still running 2.20.40.90, update your firmware first then compare your battery stats from your previous firmware version.
How long is your SoT(Screen on Time)? Well, on a daily usage my Zenfone 2 lasts for up to 6hrs SoT(with wifi browsing, some gaming, 2g/3g texting including standby for almost 12hrs as well) so i think your experiencing average for this kind of handset.
Also note that you've posted on a wrong section, this thread should be posted on the "Q&A, Help, Troubleshooting section".
This phone generally has **** battery life for majority of people, there are every few people who see any decent battery life (like above). There are no solutions for good battery life for this phone.

I wouldn't recommend somebody (even less a new XDA user) to flash a beta firmware. Only the user itself should decide if he /she really wants to try beta software.

Comparing this phone's battery to a Huawei battery is like comparing a Prius to a Tesla. I can go 3 days on my Huawei Ascend Mate 2 but it's a 4000mAh battery and a Snapdragon chip compared to a 3000mAh battery and an Intel chip. The ZF2 battery will never get better unfortunately
I was getting some serious battery drainage on stock rom - I upgraded to the CM13 ROM with Android 6.0.1 - Set it on Root and installed Greenify + Xposed Framework - Smart Booster - Battery Doctor - Configured them all and keep my brightness on low when in doors and automatic when outside. My battery seems to be holding much better now. I haven't used that Stock rom Beta release of 6.0.1 yet so I'm not sure if that'll help. Good luck!
P.S - I only installed the mini version of GApps.

Check for the running apps and disable those that are not of use to you.. There are apps that run in the background, just run those that you think you will be using always.

Disable touch gestures, the ones that let's you double tap to wake it up, I disabled mine and during the night, with wifi on, it only used 1% battery.
Also, disabling LED notifications would help.
To replace the double tap to lock screen I use Greenify's widget, need to find a way to let me wake it up by volume buttons too.
Any other battery saving tips would be great.

Turns out it was 2 AM when I removed the charger, so it was about 4 hours and a half.

But still, that's very good. I probably won't get this low because I have crappy reception at home, but I'll check it anyway.
zenfone 2 is best for performance lag free most of the time .....but battery life sucks.... and about that ferrari and prius thing... my friends sony xperia z series especialy z ultra has awesome battery life it is also quad core processor phone ...it is also a beast phone ...but there stamina mode saves a lot of battery ... 8 to 10 hr SOT is normal for z ultra..... so clearly power managment is very poor for zenfone 2. i am using marshmellow cm 13 .. greenify... .. overnight drop is 3 to 4 %... but as soon as i start using it battery starts to drain quickly..... i have searched whole xda forum.. but everybody is talking about wakelocks, thats fine but during actual use also it is consuming a lot of battery....i am tired of searching
Hello,
Please help , I 'm new in this forum .
My English is not good and therefore it is for me very laboriously to search the points all the posts .
I bought a new Yotaphone . 2
It is installed following firmware: the build number is : KTU84L.4.4.3 - S01-003 - VIT.0.3.50a
There is no automatic firmware update .
Yotaphone informed me that this is a Vodafone firmware and therefore there is no update .
I want to use the Yotaphone to 90 % of GPS navigation with the E - Ink display on my mountain bike .
Therefore is important for me, that is the ROM stable and has little battery drain .
What Firmware version can you recommend me .
I live in Germany and the menu language should be in German .
I have read that is to be flashing with the tool YotaPhoneFlasher .
Where there is a detailed guide , so that nothing 's wrong when flashing and the unit is then scrap .
(wrote with Google Translate)
Thanks
Dieter
There is no one to help me?
Can you go into settings then tap about phone and tell me what android version you are running? Are you running android 4.4.3?
A lot of people have said that KitKat (android version 4.4.3) is better then other firmwares for battery life. So if your running 4.4.3 then stay there for now.
I haven't used KitKat on yotaphone (android version 4.4.3) but I can tell you don't update to lollipop (android version 5.0) if you need good battery life.
Use RU ROM they are updating very frequently.
Battery life on Marshmallow Beta seems quite good to me, so that's something to try

I just upgraded to RU 1.31. How much SOT do you get? And, whats the idle drain per hour I can expect?
Is it better or worser than 4.4.3?

Currently battery is at 60% and sot is at 2h30min, which is more than enough for me. Idle drain I don't know about.

2.5 hours with 60% Battery Left - That is very good.
I upgraded only today early morning with literally no extra applications installed except WhatsApp. In fact, with Titanium Backup, I uninstalled few Google and Yota Apps which I never use. Waiting to evaluate the battery life in few days.
Hi there,
EPD + GPS for sunlight-navigation sounds like a good idea with the yotaphone 2. Especially in direct sunlight.
I had great experiences with that phone regarding battery life using EPD only.
BUT you should keep in mind that yotaphone has a rather small battery (2500mAh) compared to similar phones on the market at the moment.
GPS navigation uses alot of power for GPS itself and CPU power for navigation. So a normal screen would only cause 30-40% on normal displays with full brightness in summary.
If you compare pure battery power with other cheap phones like xiaomi redmi 4 pro/prime (4200mAh) and a decent LCD IPS this could also work out for you + better bad light/night time usability.
€dit: would still go with the yotaphone since it has a galaxy S5 grade AMOLED display
So lately my phone has been doing "meh" battery wise , and since i use it alot when i'm outside, actually working or playing ( still have the Pokemon Go hype ), i was wondering what was the best ROMs battery-wise ? Thank you for answering my question !
Most people will just tell you to use their favourite ROM, so it's impossible to know which one is actually best for battery life. All you can do is try different ROMs.
I have also tried a few roms and find this one here is best :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/rom-superstock-rom-v1-0-aroma-t3496531
SuperStock rom form Tkkg1994 wiht SuperStock Kernel .
He is a great dev and also very active .
Im a middle to heavy user and have no problems to get 2 days battery life with roundabout 6 hours sot (wifi / 4G combined) and without aod.
It depends strongly on the user and what one expects ...
im very satisfied for now ...

Hi guys,
I'm proud user of galaxy s5 and I dont want to switch to another phone. I have a problem with battery performance. I already bought new battery and calibrated it. I also made some free space on internal storage. Now on power saving mode it lasts almost 16 hours when i don't use any apps. When I start to use apps like messenger or 9gag it drops to 6 hours.
I mostly use phone to browse some news and play small games. I don't need huge performance for these games. I want to focus on battery performance. Currently I'm running Phoenix ROM v15.
So finally here is my question. What experiences with ROM's you have? Which you are using and how is your battery performance on it? Is there good custom ROM for me or should I go back to stock ROM?
Thanks!
