Hi, I would like to install this rom, but I did not found a clear instruction. As I am not so familiar with flashing, I would appreciate if someone can explain step by step what a newcomer has to do, like: how to start, where to download the tools and roms and a step by step installation.
I searched the internet and some forums have instructions like this:
1. Unlock/root your device and install Clockwork Recovery via ROM Manager or Amon_RA's recovery image (You MUST be NAND unlocked!)
2. Do a Nandroid backup!
3. Update your radio if necessary
4. WIPE
5. Install the ROM
5. Optionally install the Google Addon
but this installation steps are not clear. For example: Unlock (how, which tools, where to download), Clockwork recover and Rom Manager (where can I get the latest one, how do I use them), what is NAND unlocked, how do I do an Nandroid backup, how can I update my radio, how do I wipe, how do I instal the ROM and more important where do I get the latest ROM, what are the google addons and where can I found and download them?
I suppose, there are more people like me who will appreciate a clear and easy to understand installation!
Thanks in advance,
M.

In my thread there are more relevant instructions.
Hi
I try to figure out how exactly I can flash. As I am not familiar with a lot of things like wording, I don´t really know how to do it and the way of explaining is for me not clear enough to start flashing my wildfire.
For example I visit your thread [2.6.32.21] HCDR.Kernel v4 (Donate) and download the V4 Kernel. I thought it is on file which I start under windows and it does an automatic flash, like the Buzz Rom I used to remove the Vodafone branding - but I realized it is not like this.
I suppose I have to go more deep inside the topic and I wanted to avoid this.
The debrand thing you used is RUU. CM6 is not, so it's not automatic.

flashing instructions
I wouldn't mind seeing some more detailed instructions for various things as well. I have flashed my mobile a few times but \i want to flash the kernal so \I can OC on a stock ROM. Unfortunately, there isn't any detailed info on that which I can find.

That's exactly the info i am looking for as well.
Go to the hcdr kernel thread, read the instructions which clearly tell you version 4 and above is flashable to any rom... Dl and flash normally

true, but then again, we are looking for detailed info on how to do this.
like a tutorial for dummies, and that thread is not, they talk about compiling and stuff, i know what it is, but no idea how to do it.

you don't need to compile anything, that was for the previous versions and is for devs only, just flash the kernel v4.1 normally :S, if you read the OP carefully in that thread, you would understand...

I see what you mean.
So 4.1 can be flashed to any rom, and it is oc ready, it does not need to be compiled, it already is, the compiling story is for devs only, not us mere mortals.
and if i understood it correctly, then when htc pushes their 2.2 update out, it will install with no problem even tho you have another kernal.
I am so sure that Jacobs Thread covers any step of what to do.

Actually, it does not, it might do in a tech kinda way.
But where i had my doubts was knowing that flashing a kernel or installing another rom is done the same way, i thought it was two different procedures.
very simple to understand if you ask me. No tech knowledge needed

Hi, i hope the answer to this is not anywhere else. I cannot recover my nook simple touch (glowlight). Here is what i did
1) I tried to root the device with this guide (not knowing that this is not for glowlight version)
http://nookdevs.com/Nook_Simple_Touch/Rooting
-> the process stopped at the instructions page and i rebooted
-> after that the device did this endless loop where i think it reboots during the moving dots
2) When i found out that i should have used this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1675706
I followed that procedure as well but the device did not boot as it should after the installation of glownooter-1-5-26.zip
3) Then i found the guide to do the 8x reboot recover which did not work (or I did something wrong)
4) as everything failed I tried the reboot recover from CVM framework which resulted in a page saying: install failed
So my question is: is there a way to still recover my device? what can i do? if i missed some inportant info, plz ask.
Thx for any help
greets cloud

I'm in a similar situation with a bricked nook glow that won't get past "install failed" screen. Tried both methods described in the page you linked, but neither worked.
Is there anything else that can be done to revive the device? I tried almost every method I could find in the forums....
TIA
no glowlight

Anybody done it before? As lollipop really suck big times, i rather stick with kitkat.
Im using Yoga tablet 2 830LC
If u do please help to provide detail tutoria
Many thanks in advance.
you must have root before continuing, go and download these two files, you will need them later:
1. your archive with the files for restoring the 830LC bios (while the name says 830F the bios is identical with the 830LC /i have checked/ so you can use it with no worries, DO NOT EXPERIMENT however with other files)
2. the 830LC stock rom
now go and follow the steps provided here (what you need to do, especially in step A can very easy hardbrick your device if not careful), after you complete step A in the post, follow the step B using your stock rom downloaded (at 2. above) the intel flash tool and the drivers are in the "tools" folder of the already downloaded stock rom so you only need the two archives/files already downloaded. the 830F has the same kitkat bios as 830LC (all base model numbers share the same bios eg: 830L(C) bios = 830F, but not different numbers, ie 1050F has not the same bios with 1380F)
be careful, and do not experiment, especially the step A (flashing the bios) can very easy hardbrick your device (with no software recovery possible) and you will have to send it at lenovo for repairing... if you are not sure of something better ask
TODO:
update with something more straightforward (and safer for the casual user)
Thank you very much, this is a very big help, very much appreciated.

Thanks pal.
One more favor, does 'Root ghe yoga 8/10' meyhod work for 830LC as well?
Just need to clarify to avoid bricking mt tab.
Thanks again.

what details you need? just do exactly as it says in step A, but then again if you still need details maybe it's safer for you to stay on Lollipop or try to find other ways to downgrade
it's just a matter of moving around some files and typing some commands in the android shell (you have a terminal installed?)
Installed terminal emulator, but don't know how to use.

you should stay on lollipop until some form of official downgrade will appear
if you don't know how to use a term most likely you will brick your tab
Thanks for you advice
Can someone suggest another forum where I can go for help?
The last 5 or 6 times I've posted questions here, I've gotten no answers at all. I really need help. My tablet was bricked because I lost ADB connection while updating the system partition. I know there is a way around this - I have a custom recovery and an unlocked bootloader - but I need help from someone who knows more than I do. No one here is going to help me, I know. Where do I go? Where can I find someone knowledgeable and helpful?

Have you tried booting to recovery from bootloader and regaining an ADB connection? This should be all you need.

I was updating my Nexus 10 tablet - had gotten to the system partition - when I lost the ADB connection. I've since learned that's a problem with newer Macs (I was connected to Windows through Parallels). Here's a link to a thread about that:
https://code.google.com/p/android/i...Stars Reporter Opened&groupby=&sort=&id=65301
Because of the lost connection, the system partition did not flash and my tablet is bricked. There is no operating system so it can't boot into Android, but it can boot into the Bootloader and Recovery mode. All the other partitions are fine.
I have a custom recovery (TWRP) and an unlocked bootloader, but I'm at a loss to figure out how to flash the system.img file. I can't boot to Android so I can't connect through ADB in Fastboot mode to flash the ordinary way. I am connected through ADB when I'm in Recovery mode, but I can't use the flash command in Recovery mode. Nor can I figure out a way to make TWRP flash the partition by running it as a zip file - mainly because I can't figure out what the update.zip file should consist of. There was an OTA update file on my device when I started the manual update (manual updates fail), but I didn't look at it and didn't save it.
I tried pushing the system.img file to the Nexus 10 using the Linux dd command, but that doesn't work with the system partition, which uses a special format. The details are explained here, but I don't fully understand it:
http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/327661-how-to-backup-the-systemimg-bootimg-and-recoveryimg/
After spending about 8 hours on this last night, I believe the only way I can fix it is to create an update.zip file that uses a Linux script to flash the system partition, but this is way beyond my skill set and I can't find a model for how to do this anywhere. All tutorials I've found for creating zip files for flashing are for installing apps, not flashing a system partition - which is even more complicated than flashing, say, a boot partition. Nor can I find an update.zip file from someone's cache (sure wish I'd saved mine) to use as a model. I'm looking for someone with this kind of high level knowledge who can give me guidance - or someone who can refer me to someone who has this kind of knowledge.
I solved this problem.
Help! I need dump (full image) for 306sh made with EMMCRAW tool 1.4.0.0. ( Easy to make by your own)
In the whole web it is simply impossible to dig it out. I beg you 306sh owners to respond.
If you share with me a dump, then I'll post a step by step detailed recovery instruction from qhsusb 9006 with files (If phone just stuck on it).
Thanks in advance!
Bump:
Well, I bought another motherboard, made a full image and restored my motherboard.
I will not attach the instruction in this case, but I don’t mind sharing the file if someone needs it.
