[Q] Galaxy S4 does not synch apps like Whatsapp / Facebook on Wifi - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
Since i flashed the firmware i9505XXUEMKE (android 4.3) on my S4 (i9505) i have an issue with synchronizing apps like whatsapp and facebook on WIFI. The issue is that it takes up to 30 / 60 minutes before the apps synch before I receive new incoming messages. Everything works fine on Mobile Network (LTE).
Do you guys have an suggestions / solutions to solve this issue?

Google account synchronization problem

Hello,
I own the Galaxy S4 I9505 and I have some issues with the synchronization of my google account. It syncs once a day (in the middle of the night) and afterwards I have to do it manually, Often I miss important e-mails and it really bugs me. Do you know how can I fix the issue?
It happens both on 3G network and on WiFi. On my previous phone (Galaxy S2) I had no such problems what so ever.

I also had such an issue with other phones - delete your account on sgs4 and set it up again.
Nope, still doesn't do it by itself, I have to do it manually.

[Q] Mobile data connection problem

I was wondering if i can find help here as all other sources failed
I will try to describe problem as detailed as possible but I'm newb when it comes to android so please be understanding
I'm Samsung Galaxy S4 user, just stock model I9505 running Android 4.4.2.
Using WiFi phone is completely fine but when it comes to mobile data there comes the problem..
I can use internet, browse small websites or use hangouts/fb messanger but i it seems outgoing connection is slow or none.
It happens at random and can last for 1 or more hours.
When i take seedtest, download is fine at 4Mbps but when it gets to upload app stops until <force close>.
Something is wrong with outgoping bandwith.. Ive tried to set up APN manually, restart, clear cache etc nothing works.
Ive been on the phone with operator and they said its all fine on their end.
I'm on unlimited Tmobile 3g tariff.
Anyone faced similar problem or knows how to solve it?

Since the update to Lollipop 5.0.1, my Note 4 cant sync any more with Microsoft exchange over wifi. Over 3g everything works fine. Over wifi the only problem is with exchange since the rest of the services and the Internet works fine. Before the update everything was ok. Already deleted and created the again wifi access points and also deleted and created again the Microsoft exchange account and this bug persists. . I'm also tried full erase of the phone, and still the big BUG in Lollipop continues to happen. Anyone else experience the same problem?

Same problem here, since Lollipop 5.0.1 update can't use my Hotmail / Office 365 work email with Exchange over wifi and works fine over 3G .
I hope the problem will be solved in future updates... :crying:

I had the same problem as well (my boss has a Samsung Note 5 and Lollipop did it to him as well).
The only solution I could find was to purchase 9 Folders as a replacement. It works like a charm and integrates into S-Planner (which means it works with my Gear 2 Watch) so all is well!

Hi all,
I contacted Samsung customer service live chat to solve the problem and through the app "Smart Guardian" a technician has been connected to my phone to check the problem.
It was problem of the APN settings of my mobile operator (Movistar Spain). Erasing the "Proxy" field and saving the changes my email accounts works fine through wifi.
I hope it also work for you too!

Cannot receive calls while on 4G after Lollipop V30B update

Hi,
I have this strange problem with my LG G2: when on default mobile network settings, I cannot receive calls and SMS messages. I can however make calls and send SMS messages. I have to force phone to only select 2G/3G in order to be able to receive calls and texts.
This happened after I upgraded to Lollipop, it happened for a while in V30A and now it happens all the time after upgrading to V30B. Phone is stock, never rooted. I have the International Unlocked version and I am using Orange as my mobile operator (in Europe).
Any idea ? Thanks !
I have a problem that is somewhat similar.
I have data on, and I will lose connection eventhough I have signal and data icon on.
Some applications will work such as Twitter and Facebook Messenger but the rest won't be able to accesss the Internet such as Facebook, Google Chrome, PlayStore, Google+, Youtube, etc.
I have a D802 unlocked version and I have flashed v30b two days ago. I can't remember if I had that problem on v30a.
The only way to make it work again is to disable and reenable the data. What do you guys think? I looks like a DNS problem but I'm not sure.

Whatsapp issue - no connection - G900FD

Hi all,
I have the samsung g900fd, the dual SIM of the Galaxy S5. So far everything is fine. Now I had to stay at hospital the last week, so even a week without wireless.
Midweek then suddenly a problem. Whatsapp gets no online status. Flight Mode on and then off again. Very briefly receiving the messages. Then directly offline in Whatsapp. Not even more then 2 seconds.
I changed nothing till the problems arrived. After that, I deleted WhatsApp and reinstalled it. By verifying my number, i get a system message "there is no internet connection".
At my home WLAN it works, but with mobile data the same issue again - no online status.
After that I tried to test the factory reset. No positiv result. Don't know what to do now.
The configuration:
G900fd currently back to 4.4.2 stock ROM (after issue I updated everything)
Whatsapp the current version
SIM 1: FYVE, Vodafone network only for SMS and phone (GSM) and the registered number for Whatsapp.
SIM 2: Mobilcom Debitel, telecom network for mobile data (LTE)
This has always worked as I said previously. Maybe someone has an idea what it could be?
