I am using Handcent an can't get it to light up. I have turned on notifications and changed colors a few times. I f i don't have "turn on screen for popups" selected. i won't know that i have a text.

If you newly setup the Phone and selected "restore form Google Account" there's a bug preventing your LED to light up for 3rd Party Apps.
Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.ledwidget
Put the Widget on your Desktop and switch LED Lights on. Afterwards you can delete the Widget.
Had the same problem once

Completely disable notification light

Is this possible? There's an app called LEDs Hack in the market but it sucks.
If you use cm7, you can go into settings and disable every light that comes out of your phone, even tweak the dim/notification levels etc. I've yet to see an app in the market do this. Led hacks only kills the bottom lights on my evo I believe.

If you are using a sense rom, you can go to menu>settings >display>notification flash. Unchecked them all. I might imagine that you'd also have to disable settings in 3rd party apps, possibly.

Thanks, but for most apps you can only turn notifications on or off. You can't disable the flashing LED but leave notifications on.
Black electrical tape?
Lisa: Hey dad, that light says check engine...
Homer: Uh oh... the tape must have fallen off.... there, problem solved.

Capacitive button notifications

Is there an app that will make the capacitive buttons blink for notifications like messages and calls and emails?

Its called back light notifications (bld) and requires a custom kernel to work.
There are similar apps though they turn the screen on. NoLED I believe its called.
First of all you need a modified kernel with BLN functions.
I use LightFlow app to program the events that will engage light on capacitive buttons.
There is no such thing possible
Do you really care that I'm using a Nexus S?

Have u tried block mode? U can disable led and sound at specific time. No need 3rd party apps.

If rooted LightFlow allows for times in which the LED is on, as well as custom colours for each of the apps.
The app "LIGHT MANAGER" allows full control over led notifications. You can specify the colors, and blink rates for evry single app separately. It also allows a "NIGHT MODE" where you specify the hours whenre no leds blink

WhatsApp Led, LightFlow led not working. Only the default LEDs are working

Hi
I'm on D802 International version. Whatever color I set using wither WhatsApp or even LightFlow does not work. Led does not glow when I get a msg on WhatsApp.
Even the Test mode in LightFlow does not work, I've given it the Accessibility privilege.
The default LG settings so work so It must be a software issue.
Am I missing something?

[Q] How to prevent screen on with SMS?

Is there any way to prevent the screen from turning on when I receive a text message? Thank you!
Download Textra. In the app settings you get that option.

Default app
Thanks. I was hoping to stick with the default app, as I really like what Samsung had done with the pop-up notification.

Maybe the Lightflow app have settings for this and can override the default settings. Originally Lightflow lets you change light on the LED notification, but I have seen other settings in that app too. Worth a try.
Textra also has a pop-up notification. Not sure how it compares to Samsung's though
