Is this possible? There's an app called LEDs Hack in the market but it sucks.
If you use cm7, you can go into settings and disable every light that comes out of your phone, even tweak the dim/notification levels etc. I've yet to see an app in the market do this. Led hacks only kills the bottom lights on my evo I believe.

If you are using a sense rom, you can go to menu>settings >display>notification flash. Unchecked them all. I might imagine that you'd also have to disable settings in 3rd party apps, possibly.

Thanks, but for most apps you can only turn notifications on or off. You can't disable the flashing LED but leave notifications on.
Black electrical tape?
Lisa: Hey dad, that light says check engine...
Homer: Uh oh... the tape must have fallen off.... there, problem solved.

When you scrolll all the way to the rightmost screen at the top there are 5 symbols. THe first one on the left is wifi then next is bluetooth then the other 3 symbols idk what they mean.
One sort of looks like crosshairs, the other one has two arrows bent in the shape of a circle and the last one if the letter A in the middle of a symbol that look like the sun.

Thanks alot, WHen the GPS is lashing at the top what exactly does that mean, Is it just the phone getting its location or something? And what does backgraound data do. WHat is the difference between having it off or on?
Just to be clear the 2 arrows in a circle is auto sync, even with it deselected background data remains checked.

When its flashing it means its currently being used, if its not flashing then no application is using it. Your phone only uses the GPS when an app needs it
I think background data and auto sync means your weather, Facebook, e mails, etc. update by themselves every 30 mins or so

Im assuming you're using CM7.. this is customizable.
Settings -> CM Settings -> Interface -> Notification power widget
Want it off? Uncheck Notification power widget
To change whats there: Widget buttons.
Re-order: Widget button order.
When theres a light below it.... its on
No light.. its off.
Pretty much self-explanatory.

I'm running the EVO-NonSense ROM, and recently I've noticed that the 4g turns on every time I reboot my phone. Is there a way that I can disable this?
I'm also having skype start now too, I'd like to disable that as well.
That is usually caused by a 3rd party widget, be it SwitchPro or System Info Widget. Are you using either of those? In the past all I had to do was delete and reinstall and that problem went away.
I am not using either or those two or anything similar to my knowledge.
Well what widget are you using to turn on and off your 4G?
In the drag down of the notification bar, there is a 4g toggle. I use that to turn it off when it's turned on at startup.
Hmmm not sure then. Do you have beautiful widgets installed? Not sure if that has a 4G widget or not but thats the only other thing I can think of.

Is there an app that will make the capacitive buttons blink for notifications like messages and calls and emails?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
Its called back light notifications (bld) and requires a custom kernel to work.
There are similar apps though they turn the screen on. NoLED I believe its called.
First of all you need a modified kernel with BLN functions.
I use LightFlow app to program the events that will engage light on capacitive buttons.
There is no such thing possible
Do you really care that I'm using a Nexus S?

I'm on CM 10.1 M2, and the address bar on the stock browser doesn't auto-hide at all when I scroll down pages. It has been like this for me for a while now (on CM nightlies prior to this new M2 build), but I'm not fully sure the exact time it started behaving like this.
I've done a search through XDA and the closest thing I could find in relation to this problem is having LightFlow installed - which I don't.
Does anyone have any knowledge of what causes this to happen, or how to fix this?

Strange. Works fine on AOKP. If you don't mind using pie controls for the browser, it will also hide the address bar. menu > settings > labs > quick controls

Tried out the pie controls, not really a fan. Hmm.. Might have to end up factory restting and testing to see if it works without all of my apps being there. But I can't see how that could affect it.
Are you using light flow op?
If so, that is the culprit on why it's not auto hiding.

Yep, I uninstalled lightflow because of the aosp browser issue.

Dunno. It works fine for me. Its probably a app causing it for you. When I use Light Flow LED, it disables the autohide.
Uninstall or freeze Light Flow... it hides.
I'm using accessibility for light flow and tasker and it worked when I turned them off.
Damn isn't there some way to get it to work with them being on. Can't really live without tasker n lightflow. I wonder why they conflict with the browser anyway :/

*brainwave* so it's to do with Accessibility! I just turned off the WhatsApp extension for DashClock, and voila .. the URL bar auto-hides.

I know I'm bumping an old thread but just wanted to say thank you for just solving my issue.
Is there a fix for this? Like some kind of flashable zip file that would instruct android to disable all accessibility extentions when the browser is open and reenable them upon changing to a different application?
For me it was also in settings/accessibility app called Floating notifications.. So it seems that everything in this section have to cause it if enabled (yeah, Captain obvious).. BTW. Cm 10.1
Sry for pushing this old thread but I found it through google.
For my this does not solve the problem. I don't have any app listed in accessibility installed and the bar won't hide itself :/
This is still a bug in the most recent CM LP releases. So has not been fixed in 3 years.
Whenever I turn on my screen, there's a Location Found notification appearing on my lockscreen. Any clue how I can disable that?

Is the location switch in the drop done menu on /
if yes, then turn it off and the issue should stop.
If no, then you need to find which app is asking for a location fix. It could be weather app.

Definitely want to keep location settings on. Curious how I could tell what app is prompting the notification though.

what apps do you have that rely on location ?
try disabling one by one till the notification does not appear.
Do you have a partner as I use this to see where my wife is using the android built in app, and when I do this comes up on her phone, so maybe someone is checking up on you?
