I am having this exact same issue. I've tried EVERYWHERE to find an answer.. XDA, Google, Yahoo, and some other phone sites.. I have done this process over 30 times in different ways, and have re-downloaded/installed the files several times.. Even used rgedit to remove all LG entries from my registry after uninstalls a couple times. I got this to work once, but I don't remember what I did.. and I reset it one more time, because I screwed up the root process somehow. Now I can't get it to go back!!
It will allow me to root, and install TWRP.. but ROMs will NOT install with the D80010d tot.. I haven't tried CWMR yet, but I don't like it as much and am less familiar with it..
The only thing I think I may have done to screw stuff up is I attempted to use the OCT version at one point (that's all I could seem to find at the time), but I can't get root access with that since the root tool tells me that it's a read only file system, and TWRP won't install... I have tried Factory hard resets on a couple attempts on both *.tot files as well with no luck.
The only thing I can think to try is to install TWRP, completely wipe the phone of everything I possibly can through the easy options under "WIPE", delete all the files/folders I can lay hands on in the file manager in TWRP, and then install the proper *.tot file.. is this a bad idea? Will I brick this phone permanently by doing this?
AT&T 2 week old LG-D800 LG G2 currently on Android "4.2.2" Kernel version "3.4.0" with software version "D80010d"...
Please, you Godly community of people.. somebody help me get off this infernal app trap stock ROM that drains my battery faster than need be and slows me down!

Hi Guys,
This was my original FW:
AP: N900UBUBMI5
CP: N900UBUBMI2
CSC: N900UUBBMI2
Model: SM-N900 International version ( no carrier branding etc), FW version was from Uruguay
I flashed the wrong stock yesterday, and when I found the right one and tried to flash back it wouldn't work. I keep on getting a failed message in Odin in the system.img stage. Tried several different stock roms, tried to wipe data in recovery with no luck. Anyone know what I can do?

You have posted the same question twice: (original link) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2489935
I have provided you instructions with a process to ROOT, install TWRP and work with the appropriate ROM files to get things operational. You responded to my PM stating you already had a recovery ROM you tried but it still fails.
Unfortunately, I have a feeling your device is glitched which is why I recommended you follow each section and each step to the letter. I understand this is redundant steps as you would be ROOTING, installing TWRP and going through a similar process as before but it's what we call process of elimination with troubleshooting in case something happened during the ROOT or with the install of your TWRP software. I have provided you with the appropriate ROM file and TWRP files for your device which should hopefully do the trick but downloading them takes time as hotfile limits your download speed.
I'm being a bit direct but your situation is more of a troubleshooting matter which takes time and has no magical/quick answer. Rather than posting twice, please try what is suggested and respond with the outcome so we can further troubleshoot.
Thank you!
Hi,
I really do appriciate all your help but it seems something else is going on. Once you told me the first time I installed TWRP already and that didn't solve the problem. I always get stuck in odin in the flashing of the system.img. I already tried everything you said many times today but it didn't work
Maybe this phone is different than other phones.

I understand you have installed TWRP to try and do a recovery but this is what I'm saying... Maybe the ROOT went sideways and something is glitched in the device. If you follow my instructions which I provided via PM, this involves rooting the phone again, installing TWRP from scratch and going through each step as if it were a new device. It will take about 1 hour to do this process due to hotfile server speeds but once you've gone through this process, if it still hangs then another problem may be occurring. My thoughts are the ROOT itself or the TWRP recovery have become corrupt somehow causing you to get stuck during the flashing process.
Hope this helps!

You might be right, but when I tried to root my device again I got into a boot loop. My phone doesn't have a operational operating system so the root wouldn't work it just boot looped. After that I re installed TWRP and proceeded but again failed in the same place...

OK, when you go into TWRP, from the touch base menus, click on format or wipe and within this menu, click on each option in a clockwise direction twice. This will wipe your device and hopefully come this time, you'll be able to ROOT the device again. Let us know how it works.

Hi! :crying:
I had the bad idea to use this software (EFS by BORIS.X.1 ) and I didn't see the warning at the END of the presentation of the soft...
I clicked on "backup EFS". The phone reboots straight away. (I thought it was maybe normal).
I clicked on "backup NVRAM". The phone reboots again.
Actually, since that, my phone is almost dead. I could boot but after a few second I got a reboot. --> bootloop.
I did a hard reset via the Android recovery. I reflashed my VEGA ROM (packed with the other missing files from the original stock ROM, so I guess it's full wipe anyway).
I did it many times. Nothing changed. On the top of that I can not access to my WIFI, 3G, on voice (SIM NOT FOUND).
I don't know what to do anymore. I have a MI7 rooter 0x0 phone and I would like to keep it so!!
Please help me since I just bought that phone and spent all the day before to manage the URDLV properly.
 Merry Christmas and thank you in advance! :highfive:

Your EFS is corrupted by the sounds of it, can you check settings > general > about device and see if your baseband says "Unknown"? If so then...
Only guarantee to unbrick and get your baseband back properly (without EFS back up) is using a custom recovery (tripping KNOX) and using This - used it myself and it does work - But it only works on the N9005
Aside from that, I'm not 100% sure myself without an EFS backup as to how to fix..Good luck

Thank you. Yes, I know that tip but, before making that step, I want to be sure this is only the EFS :
That's the thing! I can't use my phone and access to the menu "state of the phone". It always reboots before. I have also a error message telling "the process SYSTEM doesn't respond. Do you want to terminate it ?" And most of my softs just crash, even contact. I can't dial on my phone!!
Can we say it's only a EFS problem ? In which proportion the soft I used would have damage my phone ??
Thanks

I was messing around with custom kernels, constant rebooting every 60seconds. Managed to check my baseband which said unknown, so went into TWRP and flashed the EFS fix and it booted straight up, baseband back, 3G signal etc
The good thing would be to get an adaptation of this script for Odin !!
i had the efs issue yesterday, exactly as described.
was playing with custom kernels, phone suddenly rebooted and baseband was gone.
i restored mine from a twrp backup.

Unless we learn more about what that program was trying to do (presumably from the author of the program?) the only other FACT that we know is that writing a custom recovery is GUARANTEED to trip your knox flag; just writing your original Samsung ROM has a good chance to NOT trip knox; if you apply the first then you can never try the 2nd and keep knox, while if you apply the 2nd method and it does not work you still can use the 2nd or something else.

To have some script that can be written in Odin would be nice - as long as it does not trip knox. Something which might be a little more complex than it sounds.
Well Asansam can do it with just a rooted device, no need for custom recovery.
So find one with an Asansam box, and just run the "Restore PB" command.

I am newb to android world.
I have Samsung Note 3 SM-N900.
1. Succesfully installed lollipop 5.0 on this phone after reading for a week on this site.
2. Was planning to root the phone, followed instructions from here:
CF-Auto-Root is pretty much only method for Lollipop at the moment. Yes, it does trigger the KNOX Warranty Void flag though, look it up if you want to know what it means (voids warranty in certain regions apparently, definitely not in EU).
Instructions are in the first post of the CF-Auto-Root topic - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2466423

3. Installed Rom Manager PRO, was trying a custom rom boot animation, which warned but I tried anyway and now phone will not boot.
I am getting series of errors:
Unfortunately Gallery has stopped
Unfortunately text-to-speech engine has stopped
Unfortunately Settings has stopped
Unfortunately System UI has stopped
Unfortunately Task Manager has stopped
Unfortunately Internet Speed meter has stopped
even after clicking ok for several times waiting since last 15 minutes, phone will not boot.
Please help.. sorry for being a newb..
BRO just reflash same russian rom again using odin.... problem will be solved.....
Or try to flash lollipop 5.0 bootloader may be it can solve booting problem
Sent from my SM-N900 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks mahi,
I am able to boot into download mode hoding volume down button and recovery mode holding volume up button. Should i try to do following in present condition without Reflash lollipop rom
Wipe cache
OR
factory reset
Data is not important as I have all my important data on memory card (video/images)
Phone is alive again:
Did following things to recover the phone which was not booting:
1. wipe cache partition
Nothing happened, was still getting those application stop issues, phone was unable to boot.
2. wipe/reset data
Phone came back alive.. all applications got uninstalled except Super-Su Free from Chainfire.
I am able to open the application Super-su properly.
How can i confirm.. If there is nothing wrong and proceeding ahead with setting upon the mobile again.
Edit 2
Went to Recovery Mode and Download Mode, did nothing..
Again started having the same boot issues, all applications getting stopped
WEIRD !!
Probably.. should reflash entire thing again.. ?

Reflash the ROM via odin, then factory reset and clear cache before first boot.
you have one solution go to download mode , go to sammobile download the official firmware for you device and your country connected your device with pc download the lateest version of odin . install and oppen odin go to pda .chose the firmware that you downloaded from sammobile install clik start and the problem soved
Not sure.. How i updated lollipop last time or rooted device . (local mobile repairers who work for rooting when paid are not at all knowledgeable)
I always got STOCK recovery MODE option, just tried to get into recovery MODE on a Note 2, and got same menu options.. like i have in NOTE 3.
Few minutes later, followed all instructions in this thread again:
Thanks to dr.ketan and cryostasis25..
I used same file again = n900-cwm-recovery-6.0.5.0-kk_L5.0(0812).tar
And now I am getting a different recovery MODE option..
(PROBABLY, i have to MYSELF spend more time reading/understanding terms.. before going ahead).
Now top title of recovery mode displays "CWM-based reocovery v6.0.5.0"
Giving few many options to select from list. (I never got this recovery mode before ??? )
All my last wiped applications are intact as well.. (wiped around 6-8 hours ago)

I am not sure still, what i tried/did.. Any guidance shall be a miracle.. for a newb
Tried going to recovery mode/download mode several times now, and phone wont crash
Kindly let me know what/where i did wrong..
Edit 1
I am also getting an option now to install dr.ketan ROM from recovery mode.. will try that for sure
Once I receive some responses (to a newb)
Edit 2
I can still find I am rooted, Chanfire su app still appears installed and runs perfectly fine..

check that out if you werent previously rooted if you were previously rooted then try this
Use Odin to flash the lollipop kernel you were using. Then go into the stock recovery (hold Home + Vol UP and Power) and clear the cache and reboot. If that doesn't work, go back into the stock recovery, clear cache and select factory reset, then reboot. That should allow MOAR (whatever rom you want i stole this post from one of my other topics about when i softbricked mine) to boot, then you can reinstall SafeStrap Lollipop.
If you're getting any kind of logo screen showing up on boot, you are only "soft" bricked (not "hard" or permanently bricked) and you can fix it easily.
If you're only getting a logo, try what Veid71 said in the post above mine. If that doesn't work, then worst case you just need to flash a factory restore image with Odin and start over.
A word of caution, though: if your firmware version was updated to BOE1, BOG5, BOK3, do NOT flash an earlier factory image or you will brick because after BOD the bootloader was locked and you can't downgrade it.

I get the logo screen like it is turning on then it goes to recovery mode options. I can get to Download mode and Odin has a blue port connection but my Win8 and Win7 PCs do not see the device at all, so I cant' flash in Odin. Background - I attempted to root using jrkruse method and got stuck and never rooted. Anyone know a way around this maybe using the external SD card?

When it boots into the recovery mode options, try clearing cache and then reboot. If that doesn't work, do it again, clearing cache and also factory reset. That may allow your phone to boot back up normally.
The SDcard Unbrick method is only needed if your phone cannot boot into Download mode. In this case, it wouldn't help you because your phone is functioning in that regard.
When you have the phone in Download mode, your computer won't show it as a device in "My Computer" because it's not connected as a media device., but software that knows how to look for it can see it. If Odin is lighting up blue in the first ID:COM box, it IS seeing the phone and you will be able to flash to it.
If you're to a point where you need to flash a factory restore image, click the "AP" button in Odin to select it. The image needs to be one that ends with a file extension "tar.md5", or Odin can't see it. If what you've downloaded is a zip archive, the image is inside that and you need to extract it first. Use the image in "step 2" of the root thread
I figured out what went wrong from your response thanks! I had saved the .tar.md5 on the external SD card rather than pc. Now attempting to re-root, .bat sees device but doesn't root.

yeah its really annoying youll have to unplug and plug it back in and x out of the thing like 20 times before it acutually does it
Hi all, I just received my s7 Edge -( Samsung Galaxy SM-935F )
I booted up, finished the initial set up, and rebooted...
Ever since, I'm stuck in bootloop.
Super frustrating, as the device is brand new, no root and no custom rom installed!
I'd prefer not to send it in, because I'd be left without a working mobile for the time... :/
I tried to flash latest stock rom (from sammobile.com) via latest odin, but no luck...
I do get in recovery. Here i've:
1. wiped cache partition
2. did a factory reset
but still no luck.
I also tried to recover to stock rom with SMART SWITCH for pc... still no luck.
When I'm in recovery, and hit 'Reboot system now" I can see the following error:
"E:failed to mount /data (invalid argument)"

for a millisecond just before jumping in boot loop again.
Any ideas are really appreciated! :/ Thank you

Why would you play around trying to recover a brand new new unless you caused the problem?
I would highly suggest that you guys stop trying and send it back before you do something that will trip Knox. LoL
Return the phone. Don't take a chance, especially if the phone is new.

Not sure why you are asking but here is why I'm trying to recover a brand new (bricked) phone:
1. I ain't scared of a soft bricked phone
2. I only went through set up and rebooted
3. was hoping for a tip or maybe even a solution as it boots into recovery
4. Still easter holidays here. shops are closed
5. got it with a contract... So most likely they won't just give me a new one, I will have to send it in
6. I won't have a phone in the meantime
