you messed up your Pit file, no biggie just go to the development section and download the Pit file and MJE tar. once you have those flash using odin 3.09, put Pit in the pit section and mje in the AP section, hit start and profit. Easiest root method is kingo
can i download the mj7+pit file and flash those? Or it must be MJE? Also could I have the links for the correct file, kinda freaking out and do not want to odin any other bad files .
Thanks!

It has to be MJE. You can't downgrade. Follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483380
And don't use that root method. It only worked on the mi9. The only way to root MJE is with kingo. Google it. Good luck!
Sorry to jump in this thread, but ill be in the same boat unless someone can help out. I am rooted mj9, is there anyway to upgrade to mje other than odin? I have unistalled frameworks, wanam, safestrap, everything unfroze, but still cannot get update to install?
Should i just follow the above?
Thanks

If the ota is not working, odin to MJ7 (you may need to factory reset also), install the ota, then use kingo to root.
Odin
Odin is the easiest way to do all this. If your having troubles Odin back to stock, there is a file to do that, it's 2 gigs. Once your stock again, use Kingo to root. There is also a better superuser.apk than what comes with Kingo, just google it, then flash that after your rooted.
There are no shortcuts, do it the way you see in this thread or you could have issues.

Ok, if that is the best option, should i just simply odin to MJE instead of MJ7? or better to stick to the MJ7 that im currently on?
Thanks again,

Some people are reporting the upload is corrupt though. The uploader said he would upload another version sometime today.

Here is a link to the thread with a download of the MJE odin file.

Personally, I used Odin to get back to stock MJ7, took the update, rooted with Kingo, installed chainfires superuser, then installed safestrap and flashed the ROM I use back on my stock slot. I would definitely replace the superuser app that comes with Kingo though, just to be cautious. Hope this helps.

Was having a few bugs on baja 16 so i figured i would wipe data cache and system and do a reboot. However when im rebooting its getting stuck at the samsung custom screen. Am i going to have to use odin to restore my phone? Or is there a way to get back into safestrap recovery from here

Try booting into downoad mode, then cancel it and reboot. You can also try booting into the stock recovery and doing a factory reset.

I tried the download mode cancel, but it just goes to the custom screen directly after that. I just dont feel like using odin to flash a stock tar and then have to reroot.
I also did a factory reset in the stock recovery but it looks like its going to stay frozen on the screen. I was on baja 16 with the nc4 radio, is there a nc2 rooted stock rom i can flash via odin?

Unfortunately there isn't an NC2 tar that can be flashed through Odin. Just flash MJE, root with TowelRoot, install SU, BusyBox and SS 3.65 then upgrade.

TowelRoot is an app which works a lot better and only takes a few seconds. There is no concern with the possibility of spyware or whatnot like there is with Kingo.

You need to install the ROM first (while still on SS 3.65) then immediately boot from recovery to download mode to flash the firmware in Odin, then reboot and install SS 3.75.

Before rooting your phone, you had to Odin the NC1 kernel. Did you Odin the NJ4 kernel after you rooted?
You may want to Odin it again, just to be safe.
You can grab it from here.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...to-root-i337ucufnj4-4-4-4-11-13-2014-t2939553

Hi-and thank you for responding.
Are you saying to re-root my phone? Because my phone is rooted. The information provided in the link, is the procedure I followed. I did have a problem when I first tried flashing the NC1, but I download the file again and it worked, other than that, everting is worked fine except for the Wi-Fi and Samsung Kies. I did read where it was posted, to re-flash the NC4 kernel again, which I didn’t try, didn’t make much sense seeing that it is rooted. I also have FX, Root Checker and SuperSU installed.
Should I try re-flashing the NJ4 again?
Or try rooting again? If so do I have to un-root my phone?
Thank you for your quick response.

The directions to root NJ4 are
1. Odin the NC1 kernel
2. Root with towelroot
3. Odin the NJ4 kernel.
My suggestion is to complete the root process by doing step 3. Once you do that, wifi will work again.

Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
I ran into the same problem, flashed TWRP 3 times and KNOX remained 0x0 and recovery remained stock
Ended up having to use CF Auto Root to gain root, then use TWRP Manager to flash TWRP
