I have the same issue today morning. Did you manage to resolve it?

1- You have to install LG Phone drivers and Android.sdk
2- Download TWRP for LG G2 and paste it to platform-tools folder in android.sdk direction on your PC
3- Go to recovery and plug the phone to PC
4- Next, in your phone recovery CWM you have to choose install zip and install.zip from sideload. Then wait for install the drivers of phone on your PC.
5- Open console in folder platform-tools (shift + PPM) and type adb sideload nameofTWRPfile.zip
6- Then reboot phone
7- Next enter to another time to recovery (now will be TWRP recovery)
8- Enter advanced and terminal console
9- Choose select and type the second option from this site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2451696
10- Reboot phone
In my case is everything ok, but you have to remember that you can't install any OTA on custom ROM !
Sorry, but my english is not so good

When I try to sideload the TWRP zip, I get the following error message.
assert failed: run_program("/tmp/loki.sh") == 0
E:Error in /tmp/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Any clue how to fix it?

Device Driver software not successfully installed
Got my solution to that but I am now getting the same error as the guy above me.

I tried fixing it with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302599 guide.
This did not fix it for me I now get:
"Restarting adbd...

Opening update package...

So I fixed the error but now the install won't complete. haha....

Hey guys, this is a cross-post from the OPPO forums.
One of the guys needs some help, here's the story:
Okay, here is BUMBUMBUM's story:
"ok well first started yesterday by rooting my device then downloading goomanager from the playstore and using that to install TWRP recovery once I had that installed I downloaded a cm nightly and flashed it using TWRP it worked realized that stock firmware provided better battery life so I started searching for ways to unroot and return to stock saw a couple post about just flashing the stock rom so I went ahead and did it after I restarted my device noticed I still had TWRP so I went into recocvery and started wiping the dalvik/cache hoping it would return to stock didnt work so after couuntless wipes I think it was when I wiped the system that it started saying I had no OS"
"after I tried to connect my device to my computer to see if i could transfer the rom.zip that way but my computer wasnt recognizing the device so I went on the forums and xda and searched, I came across this post and followed the steps. But when I try to sideload it gives me the error *cannot read 'sideload* and if I try to push it to my device using adb push I get an error that I can not stat the file.."
I've tried to help him but I didn't succeed. As far as I know he did everything right..
He has all the drivers/the ROM and the correct settings but we still couldn't get it working.
Do any of you have any ideas?
Steps we went through:
1. Connect your phone make sure it's actually connected and you have the drivers.
If you don't have the drivers check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983470
2. Rename the ROM you want to flash to something basic, I used Find5.zip
3. Open CMD (command prompt), navigate it to the folder you placed the ROM
(e.g. code: cd C:\Users\Jelle\Downloads\ will navigate to my Downloads folder)
4. Boot to recovery on your phone and enable the ADB sideload function.
5. in CMD type adb sideload Find5.zip
6. Let TWRP or CWM flash the zip and prompt for reboot.
7. Reboot and be happy, your phone is fixed!
Found a way to get ADB Push working!
Hey Guys,
after I accidentially made quite the same mistake as posted above with my Find 5 I tried everything to get a Firmware on my Device.
Finally I got it working!
So here is how I did it:
1. Get all Drivers - google for ADB Driver for all Devices
2. Get the ADB Driver for the Find 5 ([oppo.com/index.php?q=software/view&sw_id=631) and unzip them!
3. Connect your Find 5 (While in TWRP) to your Computer important is not to select "adb sideload" just leave it like you got into recovery!!! then --> go to "Device Manager" and look for Android. The must be a warning. So rightclick on your device and click on install/update driver. Then after your computer can't find the driver go to the directory where you downloaded the Oppo Find 5 ADB drivers. Then select "manually search for local files" and choose the unzipped folder of the drivers. Then click next. After your PC installed the drivers download the Android SDK and try to get the ADB Shell working.
4. Download the latest Stock Rom and rename it to e.g. "stock".
5. Goto your cmd with running ADB and do "adb push /[path to your file]/stock.zip /sdcard
6. Hit Enter and wait for about 3 Minutes! (Don't Panic the file is large :silly
7. After the file was transfered succesfully, click on "Install" on your Phone and select the "stock.zip"
8. After installing reboot and enjoy your Find 5! :good:
Cheers,
Bent

I thought about windows console. Push shift and PPM in the same time, on the free space in the folder "platform-tools" on your PC and choose the option "open window console" or similar. In polish this option called "Otwórz okno polecenia tutaj".
Yes that is the code (second frame)

[Q] stuck on recovery screen.

Hello,
I've rooted my device and installed the hellfire Kitkat rom. Since I was not fully satisfied I wanted to go back to stock rom and then install the latest update from LG.
But now the device only boots into recovery (CWM V6.0.4.7)
I can install a backup ROM but when I reboot it enters recovery again.
I tried entering download mode by pressing "volume UP key" and then plugin usb but it enters recovery again.
Can someone help me please?!

I'm going to be cautious replying here because I'm a noob, but did you try using ADB to issue commands through adb sideload in cwm? If you go to "load zip" (or something along those lines) then "load using adb" (or something similar) in CWM, you can use adb to issue these commands with your computer and it should fix it (at least, it fixed a boot loop for me when I was stuck with TWRP). Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
First of all. DON'T PANIC!
And even before that - make a nandroid backup! Go in CWM and make a full backup.
You have recovery working so you should be able to load System on it ok.
I am not an expert but let me try to guide you step by step.
1. Make a backup!
2. Download a rom on your computer. MAKE SURE ITS FOR YOUR MODEL # of LG G2
List of roms here:
3. Make sure you have over 70% battery
4. Go into recovery CWM
5. Use Wipe > Swipe to Factory Wipe
(go back on bottom right corner)
6. Go Advanced from HOME screen of CWM
7. Click ADB sideload
7b. (I assume you have the drivers loaded. If not make sure ADB is loaded in windows and device manager shows it. Download basic ADB package so you have "adb.exe" file in it)
8. put your rom in the same folder where you have "Adb.exe"
9. Open command prompt on windows. Goto the folder where ADB.exe is. Then Type "adb push (filename) /sdcard/(filename)". Example, "adb push rom.zip /sdcard/rom.zip"
10. Wait until it finishes its transfer(a message will appear saying the filename, file size and the speed of the transfer per sec when it finishes)
11. Wait for a while or reboot your cwm so that the filename will appear
12. just reflash the file in CWM (Install > choose file). Wipe after again.
13. Voila!
By any chance did you successfully go back to stock 4.2.2 and then took the OTA and then got the recovery loop? If so this will help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696

I did manage to restore the backup rom of 4.2.2 Then I downloaded the 4.4 OTA update and installed it. Then it hangs in recovery.
Do I need to have TWRP installed or does this work with CWM too?!

Basically what you need is a root shell whether it's via adb or built into recovery (cwm or twrp)
Searching the forum for "cwm bootloop ota" might give you detailed instructions for your case

I need to know whether your partitions are okay or not. Please answer my questions below:
1. What's the model of your device? T00F/T00J?
2. Can you reboot into fastboot?
3. What was the last thing you did to it before bricking?
4. Does it flash the fastboot.img file successfully?
5. Which firmware were you using before sideload push? I mean when the device was fine, what was your firmware version?
6. Which version you were trying to push while you bricked it?

I got same problem (solved)
I have advice for you according my experience.
My device is T00F/A500CG
I assume you can enter bootloader or recovery mode, your pc installed all needed driver to do command adb sideload.
1. Download official ZenFone 5 firmware from ASUS website. Just go to Google and type keyword "download ZenFone firmware".
2. Download firmware 5.3.3.3 and 5.2.2.2 (apply same SKU according your device). because my device use WW sku, so I downloaded firmware WW_5.3.3.3 and WW_5.2.2.2.
3. Place those firmware inside adb folder in your pc.
4. Go to recovery mode on your ZenFone 5.
5. Connect your ZenFone to pc using USB cable.
6. Select menu "apply update from adb" on recovery mode.
7. Open cmd at your adb folder.
8. Check whether your device connected or not by using command "adb device". Make sure your device listed as attached.
9. Flash your firmware 5.3.3.3 using adb sideload command.
10. At recovery mode, select clear cache and user data (optional).
11. Once again, enter menu "apply update from adb" at recovery mode and flash firmware 5.2.2.2 using adb sideload command.
12. Do clear cache and user data at recovery mode. Then restart your device. Its will take time to load operating system for the first time, so be patient. Once you done, your device will be running on kit Kat.
This is other way. If you still want to use lollipop on your ZenFone 5.
Follow the step above until step 10. Once it done, restart your device (it will take time for the first time). You will be on lollipop because firmware 5.3.3.3 itself based on lollipop. And of you want to use latest update lollipop (firmware 3.24.40.87) don't do adb sideload from firmware 5.3.3.3 or it will be fail at 54% and you need to repeat step above from step 1.
If you want to proceed to firmware 3.24.40.87, do this:
1. Download ZenFone assists (I recommend this tool).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/development/zenfone-assist-t3401996
2. Place downloaded file in a folder and extract it.
3. Run the *.exe file. (Active internet connection needed for next step).
4. Activate "developer option" on your ZenFone, active USB debuging and then Connect your ZenFone using USB cable to your pc.
5. Click on "root" menu at ZenFone assists. ( application will download some file for first time usage).
6. When it done, click on " I'm on android" and your device will reboot and automatically enter fastboot mode.
7. When your ZenFone at fastboot mode, click on "execute" on ZenFone assists.
8. Done, reboot your device and if there is no super SU app installed, don't worry, your device has been successfully rooted. Check using root checker if you doubt that.
9. Successfully rooted, now use ZenFone assists to unlock your bootloader( use menu "unlock bootloader" at ZenFone assists). The processes will be similar
As process 5-7.
10. Install TWRP using ZenFone assists. Its also similar with process 5-7.
11. Download moded stock firmware 3.24.40.87 from here
drive.google.com/open?id=0B7Py5ad2aHwKMHRsZ1NJM0tfLTQ
(Source thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/help/how-to-revert-to-stock-firmware-t3303654)
This firmware is completely same as official firmware from ASUS, only changed in Meta.inf file so make it able to flash through TWRP.
12. Place downloaded firmware in your SD card.
13. Reboot your device to fastboot mode and enter recovery mode.
14. Your official recovery now replaced by TWRP.
15. Just touch "install from zip" menu at TWRP and select storage where you place the firmware. Do the flashing process, be patient and wait until done.
16. When its done, using TWRP wipe your cache and reboot your device. It will take time for first boot, be patient.
To restore your device all into normal (relock bootloader and replace TWRP with original recovery). Do this:
1. Enable developer option on your device then connect it to your pc using USB cable.
2. Open zenfone assists and select menu "relock bootloader". I assume you already familiar with this process.
3. Open downloaded firmware 3.24.40.87 and extract droidboot.img, boot.img, and recovery.img from inside the zip file and place them inside adb folder.
4. Reboot your ZenFone to fastboot mode, open cmd in adb device folder.
5. Flash fastboot using command fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img
6. Flash recovery using command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
7. Flash kernel using command fastboot flash boot boot.img
8. Enter recovery mode then wipe cache and user data (optional).
9. Or just reboot your device.
10. Done, enjoy.

At lease 10 minutes it will take for the first boot. Don't worry, stay cool.
How about without root,if same method can do?
