[Q] Superuser does not asks for permissions - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hola
I rooted my phone since the beginning, all working well!
Although... when I use a root required app, it just grants the permissions.
There's no window asking for permission of something like that.
I checked the setting from superuser, I checked ''ask permission'' but still nothing.
Any ideas?

Download supersu from playstore, problem fixed.

[Q] have root access but SuperUser denies everything

Hello all,
I have root access (I can rename/edit files owned by root user, using ADB) but whenever I launch any app that requires root access, SuperUser denies it.
I already tried changing the settings for SuperUser from prompt to always allow and the other options. Nothing worked.
I am running 2.3.3 OTA updated.
Any ideas?
Thanks
You can try to use other su managment app, find in market SuperSu and remove Superuser.

You can also try to update your su binary via Super User.

[Q] SuperSU vs Superuser

Which one is better on the Nexus 7?
Thanks...
supersu
They are damn near the same thing lol. Both of them work great. I have Superuser and have never had an issue.

SuperSu is supposed to be a better version but I don't really see much of a difference. Both are great! The rom that I'm running on my evo lte suddenly un installed super user and installed SuperSu and I've been on it ever since

+1 superuser... :victory:
I purchased supersu a while back and to be honest they seem to be the same. I mean the primary function of these apps is to grant superuser access. With supersu you can log, which I haven't really used and probably don't know how to anyway. But superuser elite probably has this feature too.

SuperSU is better because on certain devices such as the Galaxy Nexus it will grant Permissions much faster than SuperUser. I remember having issues with opening Es File Explorer and it asking permissions while it granting permissions to my Kernel app and causing the phone to freeze and reboot. Whereas with SuperSU the kernel app was given permissions upon boot up and opening another root application didnt cause conflict.

yup. and ive encountered this issue with suoeruser and jelly bean only, on my ns, gnex, and n7. needless to say, supersu is on all my devices at the moment now.
Supersu seems to respond faster and better than supetuser for me.
Big vote for shanks and superuser.

There is a reason it has Super in its name.

I prefer supersu mainly for the logging features, if I grant an app superuser permissions I damn well want to know what its doing with them.
Also superuser and JB don't get along as nicely.

I've used both and they both seem to perform fine, I bought elite and it doesn't really make a difference and the features aren't that useful to me. I just use whatever one is included in the ROM I'm currently running.
Superuser for anything below JellyBean and SuperSU for 4.1 and above it seems
SuperSU has a smaller memory footprint.
Another vote for SuperSU. But both have worked fine for me.

Super su starts up way faster. I also love how fast chain fire responds to changes like 4.2 great dev support!
Supersu is king for 4.2 right now, but besides that, I've used both and havebt noticed a difference

SuperSU doesn't give superuser rights to Samba filesharing while Superuser does. SuperSu log says that that function is only available to the pro version.

Strange behavior after rooting my device

Hey folks.
I've just gotten aware of the fact that Superuser does not really work on my device.
Not that the apps dont have root, it's that theres no Superuser popup when an app wants it.
Also, the app-list in Superuser is blank. No entry whatsoever.
Apps that use root work w/o any problems. (Titanium Backup, Adaway, Adblock for example)
I've used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448887 to root. ioroot8 at that time if I remember right.
Superuser itself says that the new binarys(checking for update) wont work.
So I assume that my whole freakin phone runs with root-access. Any tips? Delete Superuser and reroot ?
I had this after giving super user access in one application then changing my super user app. To fix it I downloaded supersu and went to options then choose uninstall and change super user app. Then I downloaded supersu from market and used titanium backup top clear it's cache. Coincidentally you can setup most su apps to allow root without notification. You can go this as long as you only user apks from market and ones you trust.

[Q] I dont have full root aces. Can you help me?

I have LG optimus one and Iam try new rom Omnirom beta 7 and beta 7.1. Iam saw ther isnt any superuser app and Iam try flash SuperSU (chainfire) and SuperUser (CloakWorkMod) with cwm recowery 6.4.0.6 and twrp 2.7.0.0.
Now I can run some apps like a total commander with superuser aces, Rom manager, but Iam style not can run titanium backup and lot of more. Sorry my English. Thanks for all reply.
Just FYI it is recommended to run twrp and su. Regarding you question: can you use the functionality that requires root in the apps you mentioned to be working? If not you simply have no su access at all. In case you can run them go into the su UI under settings and see if you can manually grant su permission to TiB and the like. It seems strange to me that super user should only work for some of your apps. I might be wrong though, I'm no expert.
