Strange behavior after rooting my device - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey folks.
I've just gotten aware of the fact that Superuser does not really work on my device.
Not that the apps dont have root, it's that theres no Superuser popup when an app wants it.
Also, the app-list in Superuser is blank. No entry whatsoever.
Apps that use root work w/o any problems. (Titanium Backup, Adaway, Adblock for example)
I've used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448887 to root. ioroot8 at that time if I remember right.
Superuser itself says that the new binarys(checking for update) wont work.
So I assume that my whole freakin phone runs with root-access. Any tips? Delete Superuser and reroot ?

I had this after giving super user access in one application then changing my super user app. To fix it I downloaded supersu and went to options then choose uninstall and change super user app. Then I downloaded supersu from market and used titanium backup top clear it's cache. Coincidentally you can setup most su apps to allow root without notification. You can go this as long as you only user apks from market and ones you trust.

[Q] have root access but SuperUser denies everything

Hello all,
I have root access (I can rename/edit files owned by root user, using ADB) but whenever I launch any app that requires root access, SuperUser denies it.
I already tried changing the settings for SuperUser from prompt to always allow and the other options. Nothing worked.
I am running 2.3.3 OTA updated.
Any ideas?
Thanks
You can try to use other su managment app, find in market SuperSu and remove Superuser.

You can also try to update your su binary via Super User.

[Q] Superuser does not asks for permissions

Hola
I rooted my phone since the beginning, all working well!
Although... when I use a root required app, it just grants the permissions.
There's no window asking for permission of something like that.
I checked the setting from superuser, I checked ''ask permission'' but still nothing.
Any ideas?
Download supersu from playstore, problem fixed.

I have tried this and everything says that the phone is rooted, however, when I open apps they are not asking for permission. Is there something else that I need to do? Apps that work only on rooted phones are working fine so I am kind of stumped. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

That's the way it works and part of the reason the exploit is scary, apps don't ask for permission.

I have SuperSu installed and I do get prompts for granting or denying apps permission, but yeah if you don't have a Superuser access management tool, apps are granted root permissions immediately. If you don't want that custom boot logo and that's why you uninstalled SuperSu (if you even had it), you can use Wanam exposed and Xposed framework to fake system status and set it to official.

I have SuperSU installed and that is what is confusing me. Sometimes it asks me to grant permission for apps I open and then other apps will open without asking any permissions.

Do the apps that open without notification need root permission? If they don't they won't ask for it.

Here is what i am trying to do...I used to be able to get music from Google Play to Doubletwist with my rooted phone. I had to unroot it and then root it again. Doubletwist used to ask for permission, however now does not. Nor will the music move over. Long story short, that is what I am working on. Unsuccessfully, I might add. Last time I rooted the phone, I used the SD Card method and this time I used towelroot. Not sure if that would make a difference or not.

[Q] I dont have full root aces. Can you help me?

I have LG optimus one and Iam try new rom Omnirom beta 7 and beta 7.1. Iam saw ther isnt any superuser app and Iam try flash SuperSU (chainfire) and SuperUser (CloakWorkMod) with cwm recowery 6.4.0.6 and twrp 2.7.0.0.
Now I can run some apps like a total commander with superuser aces, Rom manager, but Iam style not can run titanium backup and lot of more. Sorry my English. Thanks for all reply.
Just FYI it is recommended to run twrp and su. Regarding you question: can you use the functionality that requires root in the apps you mentioned to be working? If not you simply have no su access at all. In case you can run them go into the su UI under settings and see if you can manually grant su permission to TiB and the like. It seems strange to me that super user should only work for some of your apps. I might be wrong though, I'm no expert.
