Error flashing Savie #73REV Kernel - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

I keep getting this in the aroma installer after i try to flash i.e -
script aborted: assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "GT-S5360"
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "GT-S5360"
Installer Error (Status 7)
What should I do? Do i have to edit anything in build.prop?

Are you download the zip properly? Try redownload the zip and flash the zip file again
Hit thanks if i helped!

I did :-\ didn't work

are you using cm7? if you are it wont work as the build prop will be totoro not 5360
you would have to rewrite the update script of the kernel zip or flash a stock rom then flash the kernel

Re downloads the zip then flash

You have to flash stock via Odin first.....:good:

I don't understand you people.
You make a new thread to describe an error which is already discussed and solved on the thread from which you download the rom.
You just need to read the 3-4 last pages to find the answers.

How to update Kernel?

Hey guys,
i have this rom installed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917590
If im not wrong, the Kernel version installed is GL_Core_v5b?
Now i want to update it to v11 wich u cn find in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966786
i download:
Download CWM ZIPs FOR NON TYPHOON ROMS (*series A*)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=408
put the V_11.zip into the root of my sd and updatet via clockworkmod.
after that the phone is in an boot loop and i get the error: nand kernel open failed.
Wehre is my failure?
You can try again, or maybe the kernel is incompatible with your build. or the kernel zip you downloaded is incomplete/corrupt so you need to redownload and try again. You can try search to see if the kernel has install.bat method and try that method instead if CWM fails.

[Q] assert failed: write_raw_image("temp/boot.img","boot")

hi i m trying to update my gt540 from cyanogenmod (swiftdroid v2.0 M4) to cyanogenmod (swiftdroid v2.0 M5).this shows error assert failed: write_raw_image("temp/boot.img","boot") .please help .i m wondering what to do???
This is a known bug with M5. The update has installed, but the boot.img hasn't been flashed. Here is what you need to do.
Extract boot.img from the update .zip file. If you can boot into swiftdroid, use YaffsExpert to flash the boot.img.
Hope it helps,
Jack

is there a version that already has the fix applied? i tried the one on the main thread that was supposed to be fixed, but it still gave this error msg.
Same problem for me.
I don't think the installation completes since the installation seems to abort before system.img is flashed.
I could always try fastboot but I'd wait for a fix.
No it works fine, it aborted at the boot.img. so just reboot and uses the terminal to complete the update.
are you 100% sure? have you tried it? i don't think the phone will boot if the boot.img is corrupt.

If you were to look at the updater-script file in the update.zip file, the system partition is modified first. Also, the boot.img isn't corrupt, the update script has an error in it which aborts the boot.img flash. But if you flash the boot.img via fastboot or YaffsExpert, it works perfectly.

For reference's sake, the issue has been fixed I guess.

[Q] [L7] Can't install CM, Status 7

I've been trying to install the April 7th Nightly of CM 10 on my L7, but the installation aborts on the product check.
Code:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "p700" || getprop ("ro.build.product") == "p700"
The phone is a P700, not a 705 or 708 and is currently running the pre-rooted V20a with CWM v6.0.2.8.
Any advice?
Sorry, found out in the meantime that this seems to be a bug in the touch-based CWM.

Had this problem too, just edit the updater-script and remove that specific line.
Download ROM Manager and install the official CWM recovery and then flash CM. Then you won't get any error.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for next time. For now, I'm using the non-touch CWM.

[SOLVED!] Unable to flash MIUI - Status 7

Hey guys
I've been trying to install MIUI for hours, using both CWM or TWRP, and I'm always receiving the same error message:
Writing recovery
set-perm: some changes failed

I've flashed CM without a problem, and an original stock ROM as well.
Why is MIUI giving me a hard time?
**I already followed this guide: http://en.miui.com/thread-13226-1-1.html**
Thank you!

Use Philz recovery (just flash zip attch in rec) it's something to do with the older binary code-that's why it's status 7 ?
Well, after deciding to fix this problem once and for all, I added a "ui_print" after
every (well not every) line, to see exactly where is the installation failing.
The discovery? It fails at:
set_perm(0, 0, 0555, "/data/local/tmp/relink");
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
The solution?
Change all "/data/local/tmp/relink" into "/tmp/relink" like so:
package_extract_file("META-INF/com/miui/relink", "/tmp/relink");
set_perm(0, 0, 0555, "/tmp/relink");
run_program("/tmp/relink");
delete("/tmp/relink");

Problem solved - clean installation with no errors

1) Extract "updater-script" from the ROM file (using winrar for example)
It's located in META_INF > COM > GOOGLE > ANDROID
2) Change the parts I wrote in the previous post
3) paste the "updater-script" file inside the rom
Good luck
i9500 MIUI Flashing Error
After downloading the MIUI ROM, open with winrar and locate the updater-script
\META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script
and remove the first line of code
getprop("ro.product.device") == "ja3g" || getprop("ro.product.device") == "ja3g" || abort("This package is for "ja3g" devices; this is a "" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "".");
save and update from the winrar app.
Try flashing again but disable the zip verification......Done
