Hi all,
Does anyone else feel that the S Voice wake command function is too sensitive? I've had S Voice launch while watching TV, listening to the radio, having a conversation, etc, with no mention of "Hi, Galaxy".
If there's no way to change the sensitivity, is there a way to modify the launch command to something else?
Thanks all,
Mike
I agree. I had to turn mine off. It would randomly start in my pocket even.

does it work?
it works fine, only problem I had was a force close when trying to find weather. I only played with it for a few minutes.

Same here, only weather started to work after a while, like if I only said "weather" instead of the whole phrase. Only real problems I'm noticing so far is that talk back can be iffy (only works sometimes) and I get a fc every time I try to set a wake command in settings. I'm sure there is more to report, only played with it a bit.

It doesn't know where to hide a dead body
Gues I'll have to ask someone with an iphone to help me..
what makes this any different than voice actions, jeannie, or vlingo? actually those seem to work better than s-voice....
It seems to only handle small requests. Like "open music" and open "XDA". Its faster to just open the app from the drawer. It is pretty funny trying to send SMS and looking at what it thinks you said. Or just messing around, like "Text *blank* message o I c u 8 1 2. Try turning up your media volume in volumes menu and unchecking "link volumes" to get talk back.

Hey
It isnt really a problem, but it kinda disturb me-when clicking on someone's name on contacts it immediatly calls him, is there any way to disable that ? for example, in galaxy S4-when you swipe the contact to the right it calls him and when you press it it shows info about him.
Please help me disabling that, thanks
Press on the contact image for options, use a 3rd party contacts application if that is useless to you.

That actually only occurs if you go through the Phone application. If you launch the People application instead, pressing on the contact takes you to the contact info.
Go for exDialer. Hands down the best, detailed and smoothest contacts/phone app replacement around.. For me at least. Try it.

Call Confirm.
When I say "Hi Galaxy" with the screen off, S-Voice opens, but does not listen until I say the phrase a second time. Has anyone else encountered this? I am rooted, with Xposed installed.
Edit:
I'd really like to get to the bottom of this issue, if someone with some experience could give me some feedback. I believe I first attempted to use S-Voice after rooting with root de la vega. It has never opened in listening mode (launched from app drawer or with the screen off feature), even after upgrading to MJ7 (kept root with survival mode in SuperSU), or flashing Beans Rom in SafeStrap. This has led me to believe this is a hardware or kernel issue, but I'm not the most knowledgeable person about these things. Therefore, any feedback would be much appreciated! TIA
Thank you for your feedback

Update: From what I've seen, when I open S-Voice from the app drawer, it should open in listening mode. Anyone have an idea why mine does not?

Update 2: I now use Tasker to close S-Voice when it opens, and start Google Voice Search! Doesn't listen as quickly as the Moto X, takes about 3 seconds, but no complaints here!

I am also having the issue. When I say "Hi Galaxy" or when I just open S Voice it does not open in listen mode. Any ideas?
Same issue here, no luck with clearing data or cash for the app. I'd be fine with the Tasker to Google Search deal but I was having fun with the turning on/off bluetooth and wifi using voice and a few other features S-Voice has, despite being not as reliable. I just went ahead and installed utter to be able to get the functionality of both, but I can't say my battery life is all that great with so many different things going on at once now.

You might not want to close S-voice, but rather just open Google now on top of it. If you close it, I don't think the screen-off "Hi galaxy" command will work next time around.
I have the same issue... Then I realized something. I have Pebble app for my SmartWatch. I disabled the accessibility service for pebble and it works now. So is it pebble or s voice?

Can you share that tasker profile please. I can't use that damn app to save my life. I started using automateit pro because it dumbs it down but that app won't open voice search only the regular Google app.

Create a profile, select application, select S-voice, delect new task, new task, name it .. In the task edit screen, create action, app, load app, and select Voice Search, and don't make any changes in the action edit screen.. make sure it's active on the profile tab, and try it out.. xda has a great tasker tutorial on youtube! Check it out!

I was worried about that when I created that task.. Tasker could not seem to close S-voice so it didn't effect me. When I realized it wasn't closing, I removed that action. I am interested in how the note 3s always listening feature differs from Motos 8x technology. And if Utter! has the potential of being this energy efficient?

Bump - OP updated
Hi all,
I love being able to add pauses to numbers, to enable me to redirect our support telephone at work from anywhere. But there is a snag. This is the number:
0211xxxxxxxxx,**700xxxxx#,#1

(x is a number, sorry, but wouldn't want anyone to use this)
This worked fine on my old Galaxy S2, with stock rom and with custom rom. On my Galaxy S5 it kind of works.
When I dial it from my contact list it does its thing and seems to stop at the second comma (this is only a guess...), after that the call stops and the redirection is not working.
If I do the same while on speaker, it works as expected.
Now I guess, that no one here will be able to solve my problem from this vague description, but you might have ideas to send me in the right direction. Could it be, that pauses on speaker differ from those not on speaker, for example in length?
Thank you for your ideas
Sven
I used to do the same for making Google voice calls for specific numbers, dial my gv # then pause, then 2, then pause, then dial then number I wanted to call, then press #.
I found on my S5 I had to do three comas before the 2 and two comas after it, or it would not work.
Also, try using the wait option in the "sym" menu

Hi finndo,
Thank you very much for your enlightening post! I was very surprised when I read about three commas, but I'm definitely going to try
The only thing I can't find is the 'sym' menu, where can I find that?
Thank you very much
Sven

EDIT: just getting rid of some erroneous words
On the dialer screen in a contact, when adding the phone number, should be in the bottom right, second one up.

So for some reason all of a sudden I can't get the "OK google" voice command to work. I'm running stock KitKat and I've tried it in both the LG ui and Nova Launcher. Has anyone else had this trouble? Any ideas on how to fix would be great, thanks in advance.

Did you enable it inside Google now settings, so that it allows you to use it from any screen?
I tried to set it up to work from any homescreen but it won't respond when I try to go through the voice recognition steps.

When I try to train it, it doesn't react when I say the OK google command 3x. Conversely, I tried it on a galaxy s4 I have and I could train it just fine and make the command work from any home screen.
