I know that a lot of people are having this problem right now but I accidentally the OTA update and now I'm stuck in a recovery bootloop and I can't ADB and I tried doing the install zip with sideload in CWM to flash a TWRP zip because I know that you can fix this from TWRP but ADB wasnt working... I really just don't know what to do now but I have to fix my phone tonight and I would be willing to do a factory reset because I have a backup on my SD card but I am on Ubuntu but I have access to a windows machine if thats what is neccessary. If anyone can point me in the right direction of a fix for this in CWM or how to factory reset with ubuntu that would be incredible. Thank you.
Does your cwm support sideload and if it does try reading through the link below that I posted about my experience of same problem and solution. Now this is for att but don't know if it will work for u. Good luck.

Hi guys im sort of new to the android scene and im having problems with my nexus 4, i downloaded the newest cyanogenmod nightly and flashed it, it messed up part way through. i rebooted the phone and now its just stuck at boot animation. i have wiped the cache the dalvik cache and done a factory restore.
i have tried reflashing the nightly but it stick stops part way through, i want to add the new rom to the /sdcard but i dont know how, its not showing in android file manager and i have tried using adb push command.
im sure its a noob question but any ideas?
P.s sorry i know there are posts similar to mine but tried them and wont work
If adb push won't work in recovery you might try flashing the factory images with fastboot. System.img is really all you'd need.

AW: [Q] Nexus 4 wont work after new cyanogenmod update
You can try to sideload a new ROM via 'adb sideload' in the recovery.

Follow the steps, but only flash the system.img. Once it boots, move your ROM over. Reboot into recovery. Flash.
Hey errbody, sorry if this has been asked somewhere already but it's hard to sift through the hundreds of pages of good questions! But I seem to have a slightly handicapped TWRP thing going on in that it successfully makes backups but upon restoring then when needed, it says failed and then factory resets my phone when I boot into system...Anybody getting this weird vibe?
I've never experienced that before. Are you using the correct TWRP for your phone? Have you tried CWM recovery? Use flashify and flash an older version of TWRP... you should not be having this issue.
I'm unable to restore from Nandroid backups either. No idea how to remedy the problem. This is the 5th phone I've successfully rooted and put a recovery on so I'm not a noob, just can't figure this one out. Have you found a solution yet?

Have you try to do a full wipe? In any case, yoy can download other rom that works sure and put in the sdcard using adb when you are in recovery mode...
Check if when you flash the rom, you are getting an error related with loky-... (Something like this)...
Why don't you try to install back cwm if you still have your cwm backup. Then after that restore your backup.

How can i install back to CWM? if i cant get out of Recovery?? I would just download another rom but computer wont show my phone since stuck in recovery, As you can tell i have limited access to computer privileges due to using a work computer, so I do not have any of the tools on the computer.

Yes i did a full wipe, when i flash AOKP 2/16 its successful but stays boot looping, but PA and CM11 says failed, but nothing mentioning loki.
Can you not mount in twrp? Or go into download mode and adb push another ROM onto the phone? If your in a bootloop just wipe everything twice. Mount or adb push a new ROM AFTER checking md5. Both those have worked for me :$

Is your TWRP out of date? You can update TWRP while in TWRP. Or just adp sideload another ROM.
How do you update twrp while in recovery? When flashing the other two roms its saying something about binary?? And how do you side load, yes im real new to the g2 root game, my nexus's were so much easier and never delt with adb sdk really, ill have more luck tomorrow when im on computer i can actually download stuff , when i flash aokp i see all the files through file manager but just won't boot

By using ADB. If your pc does not detect phone. Try installing lg drivers or those on pdanet drivers.
Link for universal drivers to get ADB working.

Adb is the way to go if your stuck in recovery. And even if you're a newb its easy to learn as there are countless tutorials out there. Just read up on it and then you can either push a new ROM or push cwm and restore your old backup

I had this problem using Philz Recovery, and ultimately sideloaded a zip with ADB and was able to flash that.
Being that it's TWRP, the process will be slightly different.

the phone has been sitting at starting adb sideloadm feature for a while now, does it take a while to load up?
now i cant for the life of me get adb to recognize my device, Ive installed the drivers with no luck
will the rom zip show up in my file list in twrp? or does adb install the rom?
Adb installs it with a push command. You have to put the rom in the same folder as your adb on pc.

Finally got it, thanks for the info
Hi,
I believe i've bricked my phone today.
I stupidly didn't have any backup. I had an encrypted phone, running L preview beta, another stupidity, I had some problems with the beta-2 i had flashed since yesterday, so i though of flashing beta-4 today. I rebooted in cwm and wiped data/factory reset, it failed, i formatted /system that worked. Tried flashing from zip, it couldn't access /sdcard. i thought let's reunlock oem, that will do the factory reset, i did. Now i don't have a working fastboot link, a corrupt cwm barely working and the screen's stuck at Google, when trying to boot. I can use adb, i've tried adb sideload, but it doesn't work ! The file is copied but the screen is still stuck at Google logo, without booting.
Can anything be done ? I've searched and couldn't find anything that works ! Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks, I'm on it
EDIT :
It worked. I had to sideload the zip file, but mounting /sdcard helped me access it which i couldn't earlier.
Phone's up and working now. Thanks for the help. Appreciate it !
