I just bought my New Note 3 from verizon yesterday. As with all of my previous samsung, i decide to root my phone. I tried using root de la vega, via the newest odin, and thats when all hell broke loose for me... I have been trying to to revert back to stock, without any luck. I searched all day long for a fix, and i have not been able to fix my problem
Please somebody lead me the right way.

Next time you make a post like this. You should say how you fixed instead of just saying you got it.
It helps out others as well.

Hey all,
So after flashing a bunch of custom ROMs I reverted back to stock. Once I had stock I ignorantly upgraded OTA...I now have that damn Knox crap. Fine. But all of a sudden I can't hear any sound, anywhere, I can't play any video (YouTube or browser embedded), my camera video recorder doesn't function at all, my phone doesn't work, and who knows what else.
I've flashed back to stock multiple times with Odin, as well as tried my custom ROM of choice (SlimBean) and it's always the same. I have no idea what could have caused this and don't know how to get back to a functioning phone.
With my warranty now void I don't know what to do. TriangleAway said it worked but it didn't, it remains 18...I tried twice. I'm thinking I might just have to say to Telus that after I upgraded with their OTA it got messed so I tried flashing back to stock 18 times lol
Ideas?
I just found out about the Best Buy Samsung centres. I'm going to go to them and see what happens!
UPDATE:
So the Samsung guy played with my phone for a bit and agreed it needed a flash, blah blah blah. He was about to do it and then asked if I rooted. I decided not to lie. He then went on to tell me it was against the integrity of his company to flash it for me. I tried a few different logical angles but he just kept saying no. Pretty lame since him helping wouldn't do anything except give me my phone back. If they don't want people flashing a phone that had previously been flashable then there should be some sort of front-facing warning for customers. If I had known that I would not be able to freely flash my phone I may have reconsidered Samsung.
I downloaded the new "stock" 4.3 and flashed that with Odin. Everything works again. Should I never flash a custom ROM again?!
EDIT:
The file I used was I337MVLUEMK6_I337MOYAEMK6_I337MVLUEMK6_HOME

i had the same issue, but i had no sound, no mic, no wifi, and no signal...
only way i got it back was to use the CDR-I337MUMUAMI1-20131121212713 mexican 4.3 update in odin,
then reflash the RWC-I337MVLUEMK6-20131125124040 canadian 4.3 rogers stock.
everything now works *but* its triggered the 0x1 knox BS..
Fyi... my counter is at 30 for trying everything under the sun i saw to get my phone back to "normal"
hope this helps...:good:
I think the issue with the Knox security crap is the ROM version. Once I flashed 4.3 stock (the one Telus released last week) everything worked fine; if I flashed 4.2.2 (the one that came with the phone) it didn't. After putting 4.3 on, and learning that by using that ROM I could always return to normal, I decided to try SlimKat again. It worked!
I'm happy to have my custom ROM back...it's way better .
I'm waiting until the hackers figure out how to get rid of Knox. It's only a matter of time IMO.

yup.. if you mentioned you were canadian, could have helped you sooner. we have had the 4.3 odin files for a couple weeks now. ( add your location to your profile )
screw knox. its built into the bootloader. and its not stopping us from flashing, it is not a priority at all for anyone to hack. Bootloaders are a pain to hack, and there is no benifit to hacking this UNLOCKED knox bootloader.
my trigger is tripped, i dont care. i have the extended smartphone care plan from bell. if i crack the screen, loose the phone or drop it in water, i get a new phone (or upgrade) for 160$. kinda hard to tell if a phone is tripped its flash counter if you cant read the screen....

I figured having "Telus" as my provider would be enough info. I've added Toronto though, thanks for the pointer
Ya, I don't really care about the Knox flag either. I have the red and yellow warning when my phone boots, but who cares...as long as my custom ROM works, I'm happy!
You pay $5 a month for the priviledge of paying $160 to replace your phone, right?
missed the telus part.. lol
8 bucks but ya. already came in handy. broke my s3 screen after 8 months or so, got my s4 as a replacement for 160$ fee. a new screen off ebay for the s3 was 160$ plus risk of install to keep an s3.... ill upgrade.

That's 160 + (8*8+HST) = $232. Not bad I suppose.
Warranty fraud and discussions promoting it are NOT allowed on XDA. Telling someone tourposely bricking a phone to get a warranty replacement is promotion of warranty fraud.

I got the update and it blew my sound and wifi. I flashed my i337m with stock 4.2 and it was still locked and showed void warranty so I rooted and used triangle away(Paid for on Goog) and it kept rebooting until I held volume up during one of the reboots and it went into stock recovery mode and SUCCESS counter reset. I still had the bootloader lock and no sound but my warranty was back. I updated to 4,3 again in hopes my wifi and sound would return but it did not. I took the phone back to koodo and five days later had it returned with 4.2.2 no bootloader lock!!!! The guy said they replaced the main board. But I'm not suggesting you do this....but this was what happened to me. I wish I took some pictures and documented it better, but I was so pissed at Samsung for yet another DOWNGRADE. We freakin buy these phones and Samsung acts like they still own it.
P.S. Don't forget to unroot.
and turn off the updates on your phone and kies!
Hi all, not sure where to put this but I stupidly updated my MobileIron app last week and now I'm getting messages that my phone is rooted. My phone isn't rooted but I am using a custom ROM. I did the full unroot using SuperSU and it was working perfectly fine the past year until this update. I'm hoping that someone reading this will have not updated their MobileIron and would be able to send me the apk file so I can revert back. I'm on 5.9.0.0.151R so I'll try anything older than that. Post a link or PM me if you have it. I would really appreciate it! Thanks.
As a word of advice for anyone whose company forces them to use MobileIron, if it works for you now, don't update it ever!

lol... had this issue on iOS like 2 years ago, came up with a patch for the Jailbreak detection. im sure there should be one for Android
OK so there's a bit more to it than that but I will try my best to explain,I recently picked up my s4 1337m and decided to root it,all went well so I decided to install cmod11,again all went well but I wanted to go back to to stock so I flashed a recovery in odin and now I have no sound, cannot make calls, cannot recieve calls because the phone lags for awhile and I also cannot update to 4.4 kitkat because when I do the phone is really slow and does not like to respond so I have to go back to 4.2.2.I asked a friend who knows way more than I do and he said it sounded like a modem problem so he found me a modem online and I flashed it,however the phone is in the same state as it has been for two days now.I don't really know what else to write other than the process went like this:I rooted the phone, installed cm11,tried to go back to stock and am now in this situation.I now wish I had never attempted any of this and only want my phone back to the way it was but I am losing hope .I did find a thread on here where the person just kept flashing the stock rom and the sound and everything came back after a few tries but this has not happened for me,please if anyone has any ideas I am open to trying anything. If I did not provide enough info please just ask and I will do my best to answer.I did trip knox if that matters I just hope all is not lost and someone who knows more than me can help.I should add when I put my sim card in I can still text and get texts just cannot call out and I also have no wifi.So in closing I thank anyone in advance who can help me get this phone working again.I should also add it is locked to Bell

Is there anything else that might cause this to happen?
Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well.
I purchased a used G2 a couple weeks ago and activated it on the Sprint (Ting) network. The previous owner seems to have made a failed attempt at rooting the device; There is a SuperSu app in the app drawer but it doesn't work (missing binary) and RootChecker fails.
I've tried using StumpRoot but the "Grind" button is greyed out, as well as IORoot but the flash fails.
If anyone has any tips I'd really appreciate it. Otherwise, if you need any more information about the device just let me know and I'll be sure to post it!
same problem
Android Noob
I just got my g2 ls980zve 4.4.2. My device is not rooted but stump root keep saying your device is rooted. And i couldnt find a proper root guide for this update. Help...!
Best solution: use one of the ZVC tot files and take it back to pure stock, then do the OTA upgrade to ZVD, then ZVE, and use Stump Root nice and clean once you're back on ZVE.
That's my recommendation. Yes it's a bit cumbersome but if you're going to be pure stock (rooted, of course), that's the why I would suggest it be done properly. Trying to "fix" a busted root or one that didn't get done properly could cause more trouble than it's worth. You could do the reflash to pure stock ZVC in a matter of minutes, then the ZVD - ZVE update in a few more and have zero issues whatsoever.
Or flash the zve tot and then use stumproot.

Didn't realize there was a proper ZVE tot file available, would have suggested that if I did but yep, that's even easier and the best solution overall.
Neat...
I am having the same issue, glad to see a solution.
It may be a stupid question, but since I do not know the answer... Where do I find the ZVE, or ZVC files to load? If someone has a link for a thread kn this subject that would be very helpful. In the mean time I will be doing some more searching.
Thanks!
Thanks for the responses guys, really appreciate the pointers!
I'll definitely be trying some of these suggestions when I have time First week back at Uni is kicking my ass so far lol!
Rynglade there is a guide to restore to factory in the lg g2 general section at the top. Internetcommand. if the previous owner attempted root then failed, stumproot will not work as it still detects the phone as rooted. the only way to get it to work is to do a restore with lg flash tool.
@broadband and rularn
Thanks dudes
Hey guys, quick update as I've finally found time to try working on this:
The only issue I'm having right now is that my phone will NOT go into download mode. I've tried several times and nothing seems to get through.
I really don't know what to do from here since I can't flash a stock firmware without going into download mode...
Hey guys,
Great site. I have the lag problem with my S7 edge after root. Downloaded fix file from link in other in (Rooting Problem). Not sure what to do now. Do I flash zip with Flashfire? Leave it in the zip state? I realize this is elementary to most, just been a very long time for me. Hated to ask the question again. Wouldn't let me ask it in the thread I mention.
Never mind, figured it out. Thanks for the 37 views without advice.
Well what file did you download and did you use flashfire to install? I don't have root just curious

There's a file on the Verizon forum that helps most if not all the issues with root. Just flash it once and you're good to go. OP just doesn't understand people here aren't obligated to help him, self entitled privilege at it's best.

Sorry guy. You are right. I should of explained. I followed directions from this youtube video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kqb-p2JO5I4 ). Worked , but was lagging and wifi issues. Came here, found and flashed with Flashfire., the wifi fix file , which I can't seem to find here now. Everything worked great. Until next morning it was stucked on AT&T logo. Only could get it into download mod. Had to do a factory rest. Want to youtube to look for a different way to root. Found this ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcFEcycZZnU ) followed directions and seem to work great right now. But time will tell. Sorry for the rushed details, busy day. Thanks.
Update. Yesterday got stucked on AT&T logo AGAIN. I decided the heck with this root, 4th time I had to set phone up from start. I did a factory reset. Set my phone back up. Lost my root according to Root Checker. But I am getting security warning, and when it reboots. It still shows custom and unlocked. Any ideals? As so, I tried to do the AT&T update, but it fails.
If it is showing custom & unlocked, you might have a custom recovery and/or unlocked bootloader. Just got the S7 edge, so I haven't really messed around with the internals yet (or anything dealing with rooting or unrooting), but that's usually what that means in my experience. The fix is usually an odin flash to the stock image, but as I said, I haven't really gotten too involved with it yet. A factory reset will set the system back to stock, but I don't think it does anything with the other partitions. Good luck and if I can find anything out that might help, I'll come back by.
So far as the update, do you have all the prerequisite stock bloatware installed? There are apps that are required for an update to work. If you uninstalled any it will freeze you out of getting updates.
And my signature is so out of date it is funny.
