Normally get that after flashing something but should not do it after every reboot

I did factory reset and install all apps from scratch, however the symptom still persist.
Any idea?

Hi,
I had a S3, which I rooted, and ran on a mod rom, I used xposed, that phone showed the same message at every boot, never paid much attention, cause I thought it was due to the rom I flashed.
But now, I have a n900w8 note 3, I rooted it, installed xposed, kept stock rom, no cwm recovery to keep knox 0x0, and, the same message pops out, so, a modified rom is not the cause, or cwm, the only possibilities are, SU or xposed, I really dont pay much attention to the ANDROID IS UPDATING, because I lived with it for more than a year on my S3, I had no troubles at all, but now I also would like to know whats ithis message is all about

After rooting and installing Xposed/Wanam still there is NO message. So rooting and Xposed/Wanam are not the cause.
I notice that it happen after using Autostarts app to disable some startup items. Do you install Autostarts app too?

Something is clearing your cache.... I know it has something to do with exposed and all the sub-trees such as wanam because i had this issue before, but i dont remember what was the exact culprit.

Pull battery
Wait one minute
Reinsert battery
Boot into recovery

No. My phone is stock rom, CWM recovery and rooted. That's all.
I think the issue comes from Wanam Xposed or Autostarts (I used Autostarts to disable some apps from auto-startup).
How about u

Flash stock.
No data lost.
I did after i screwed my autostarts with some app from gplay and got bootloop -> flash stock -> note 3 back on (zero data lost)

We are all waiting for the official builds of CM7 for the Atrix right? Yes. Well I took the source and compiled it for my self (because I'm a curious george) and IT WORKS! I take no credit for doing anything except compiling the source. Please thank the Atrix Development Team for this https://github.com/Atrix-Dev-Team.

I dunno. It might work. But as I said before, I have found that you need to use Tenfar's ClockWork Mod Recovery to flash this. I tried it with the one that comes with ROM Manager, and it didn't work. If you are going to try to wipe with fastboot, also try putting tenfar's CWM on, and then re-flash.
Yeah ill confirm tomorrow after using tenfars

I've been waiting for this new recovery to come out ever since I got my Kindle Fire(we're a bit limited with only 1 physical button). This was just released a few minutes ago, but it's been in development for a year or so.
I have no affiliation with the team, but I thought others would be interested in trying this out. Luckily, the Atrix was included in the initial wave of supported devices. More pics below.
Video of it in action on a tablet. It really shows the potential for an XML-based recovery. Could mean some very nice ROM installs among other things.
TWRP 2.0 for Motorola Atrix 4G
TWRP 2.0 General Info
Themers, keep your eye on this page. Atrix is not listed, yet.
Install instructions with fastboot:
1. Place twrp-olympus-2.0.0RC0.img in fastboot folder.
2. Open command prompt and cd to directory from step 1
3. Put phone in fastboot mode and connect to computer.
4. fastboot devices
5. fastboot erase recovery
6. fastboot flash recovery twrp-olympus-2.0.0RC0.img
7. fastboot reboot
Note to CM7 users: It doesn't look like the internal storage naming (/emmc) used by CM7 is supported yet, so you will be limited to just using /sdcard.
*Edit*
Looks like there's an official thread over in development now.

Sorry, I wasn't sure if I should post it there since I wasn't the one to develop it. Mods, please feel free to move. Thanks.
Just flashed to my CM7 atrix, and tried flashing a .zip (radio update) and seemed to work just fine! Touchscreen recovery, the way it should be!
Just flashed it to mine, and I have to say its quite impressive. Methinks my volume buttons are going to see a lot less wear on them now.
Only issue is that it doesnt look like you can backup/restore your PDS partition, but thats not something you need to mess with often so you could probably just flash another recovery temporarily if needed.

What ROM are you on currently? I'm on CM7 so I'm wondering if sdcard naming might be an issue for non-blur roms. I just wanted to prepare myself for possible issues once I get it flashed.

I'm on cm7 as well. I'm thinking the problem lies in the previous recovery image I had, I was using cwm prior to flashing this. Wonder if I wiped recovery in fastboot prior to flashing the new recovery if that'd fix it.

I am using CM7 Weekly 3, and i switched from RomRacers recovery. I used the fastboot erase recovery prior to flashing this, and it doesnt seem to have any problems in the limited testing I have done with it. In the log at the bottom of the screen it says error mounting sd-ext but it is able to flash .zip files from it, so...
Will try again tomorrow. I gotta hit the sack. Amazing job tho by the devs on this. Truly revolutionary work. Night all.

Ok, this is the first CWM zip I've ever tried putting together so please let me know if you have any problems. I took an existing .zip and edited the updater script. I just tried it coming from romracer's CWM, and it worked for me.
If it works for others I will add it to the OP. Happy flashing!
*Edit*
Btw, when using TWRP I tried to reboot into bootloader but it seemed to put me in fastboot mode. Just wanted to put that out there in case others get stuck on "Unlocked" screen.
I can't get this to work so frustrating. I flash with fastboot, it boots into recovery. Its a great touch screen interface. But there are no files populating. I can click the bottom middle button and see a bunch or errors about being able to mount my SD card and such. What step am I missing here.

So when you tap on "Install" it doesn't take you to the root of your external sdcard? For me, that is the only directory I have access to at the moment since I'm on CM7. All of the actions are defaulting to /sdcard.
What boxes are checked for you when you go into "Mount"? I was unable to check sdcard-ext from there, but everything else was selectable.

I've tried to install this ROM many times and failed it seems. I've backed everything up (just in case it didn't work), ran a factory reset, wiped battery stats dalvik cache and formatted /system, then proceeded to install this. I used the CWM you stated in the post and tried a few other versions. Phone is just stuck on the boot screen, and keeps resetting. =/

Sky go - Root - WORKING?!

So yea, Sky go now has support finally for the Nexus 4 and jellybean!!! but it doesnt work on rooted phones , even using temp unroot, it still sees at i am rooted..
So any way around this?
And if not, can i just unroot and flash root when i need it
Looks like stock only at the moment unless someone patches the apk
Ok so i did something kinda strange, but its working...
I uninstalled root using the full uninstall root in the SuperUS app
I then restored root with temunroot in the otaroatkeeper app,
Now i dont have Super SU, but iv verified root using apps and also sky go is working!

}
The only issue is now it just gives apps root access that want it . it doesn't bother asking me obviously because the app is no longer there..
But that surely means sky go is looking for supersu apk
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
So iv got it to work ...
1) ota rootkeeper temp unroot
2) superSU app and use Full uninstall ( This deletes SuperSU apk)
3) back to otarootkeeper and restore root
4) tested root using root checker ... says rooted but no SuperSU app as you can see from the pic
5) tested sky go... works on every channel
Now i tested root with titanium and root checker, both say rooted, HOWEVER, both dont ask for permisson to use root, as the APP is gone, so it seems to just grant it access automatically ( could be risky)
Also iv noticed that if im currently in rooted mode, i.e not tempunrooted in otaroot keeper, and the app reloads, i get the your rooted error , please kindly F off..
If i temp unroot and make sure the ap reloads again, i get Sweat apple pie!
have you tried disabling the superuser app whilst using sky go? that might be a good way to go

Good question, i havent.. may give it a go
i bet it's a matter of changing a string that looks like "check for root" true to false. Or maybe not....

Lol i dont think its that easy...
its been a problem for ages, basically if your on a custom kernel or rom my method doesnt work.. so it obviously checks a few things rather than just the presence of the superuser.apk

I used CF-root to root my phone but did no further modifications, does that mean I would have a custom kernel (cwm?)?

Does anyone else tried this method on the HOX? I've tried but no joy. after most of the unroot/temp unroot operations in SuperSU and Voodoo the phone reboots itself for me then SuperSU is restored and starts responding to root requests again. Where am i going wrong?
Hi,
I too are having this issue with my rooted HOX, I have attempted all the suggestions to un-root etc, but Sky Go still does not work for me.
Is there anyone that can get this working at all?

I've now got my jelly bean OTA and lost root. SuperSU is still installed though but doesn't work. All my apps report no rot but sky go still won't work (if you delete the app data/cache you get loading bar before failure). Tonight after work I think i'll remove the supersu .apk and see if that works as I can only think that sky gp must actively look for a super user app as well as root. If that works I'll see if restoring root with voodoo has the same effect as its had for the nexus 4

Can confirm lilvfr400boy's method works. Clearing the app data in sky go removes its root search history so stream loads after hiding root with voodoo and clearing the app data. Username and password isn't lost either.

Status 7 usually relates to a recovery error. Not an actual error due to the flash.
Have you tried installing the newest recovery?
I recommend twrp:
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/grouper
Download the newest one.
Which is openrecovery-twrp-2.4.1.0-grouper.img
Then reboot to bootloader:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.4.1.0-grouper.img
Reboot to recovery and try to re-flash.
PS - If this doesn't work, re-download what your flashing, as once you've updated your recovery, the only other thing that relates to "Status 7" errors are a bad script/zip being flashed.

100% wrong. Stop giving people bad advice.
Did you actually look at the error message? It's right in front of you!
The trouble is that /system/app/BrowserProviderProxy.odex was either altered or removed. Installing a different recovery isn't going to change that!
I needed stock browser (bad google!) please help me out. I know I sound desperate but I can't even download from play store anymore .

If you saw a status 7 error message, the OTA install altered nothing. Read that again - it did nothing. The OTA installer performs literally hundreds of individual checks before it begins, and if any one of them fails, it stops immediately ... with a Status 7 error.
That means not only that it did nothing, but also there could be more altered files present that it has yet to discover a problem with. ( Could be zero or more )
None of this changes the fact that OTAs are for use with 100% pure stock ROMs and stock recovery. PERIOD
If your ROM is now boot looping, I suppose that is because of something you have done since your OP - and yet you failed to mention it.
Restore your ROM from a Nandroid backup and do a little more reading.
PS If I recall correctly, the OTA installer also performs a checksum on the boot partition - so even if you fix up all changed files in /system, the OTA is still going to abort (without making any changes) as you indicated you had a custom kernel installed.

I didn't boot loop, it just took ten minutes, I'm running Franco with stock ROM.

So you're on 4.2.1 wanting to manually update to 4.2.2, but you're getting an Error 7 due to a stock file (.odex) missing, and running a custom kernel.
If that's the case, you CANNOT do what you are trying to do here, as you are getting errors due to files missing, and if you were to fix that, you'll get an error due to the kernel being custom.
You'll either need to do one of two things:
Download a 4.2.2 custom ROM, flash it in recovery. This means re-setting up everything (downloading apps, setting them up, etc). Easier of the two methods.
Flash the official Google images to get back to 100% stock 4.2.2 (via fastboot command is recommended, others may use a toolkit of some type). Again, you'll loose all information on the internal sd card (pictures, music, etc) and apps with app data. More advanced of the two methods.

Bear in mind that a "factory reset" only restores things back to "as the device came from the factory" for devices that were never rooted.
It only erases /data and /cache - that is all. If you've put cruft into, or deleted files from /system (system partition), installed a custom kernel (boot partition), or installed a custom recovery (recovery partition), all of that will remain the same after the "factory reset".
You could try over flashing a 4.2.2 ROM without performing a wipe first and see if you are happy with the result - but for dog's sake make a full Android backup before you begin! You can't recover from mistakes without a backup.
I'm really a complete tool at android, if you can give more detailed information, you'd be an angel.

As previously stated, yes, that is exactly why. It also will not work with a custom kernel (which you said you installed Franco's).
But how would i be able to fix Google play..?

Have you tried going into Settings - Apps - under the All heading - selecting both Google Play Store and Google Play Services, clearing both of their cache/data and Force Stopping them, then trying to open Google Play again?
Can you not download anything with Google Play, or ?
Nope it doesn't work after I flashed.
