I am interested in flashing a custom rom, but this is my first phone without an sd card. Will a data wipe delete all of my music and pictures?

Just slide to perform factory reset that's all you need and it won't touch your sdcard

I thought the g2 didn't have an sd card...
Sent from my VS980 4G using xda app-developers app
It doesn't, he's talking about the internal sd card.
It has internal sdcard but not external

It looks like you have Verizon g2 so are you already rooted and twrp installed.
Sent from my LG-D800 using xda app-developers app
I'm rooted. I don't have a custom recovery yet, but I will obviously need one before switching roms. Thanks for the input!

the droid x, requires a SD card, to flash roms
Sent from my XT894 using xda premium
The only way I could think it might be possible is if you didn't have to wipe data before flashing, but I don't know of any ROM's that don't require that in a jump.
you don't have wipe before, you can wipe after.

are the system files on the lg g2 stock normally? I just flashed back to stock ui after a hangup while trying to install cm 11, and come to find out that the system data is 8.12gb, is this normal or are there "leftovers" from trying to install cm11? Thanks
Do u have a 16gb or 32gb. ...there has been a bug where 16gb gets lost

To all what had been said. Whilst restoring. Or changing ROM's stock vs custom usually, almost always the system partition gets formatted, cleaned so there couldn't be any leftovers anyways. (not in system)

Anyone know how to fix this error? It happens for every ROM.
You need to have TWRP 2.7.

How do u update it. I've looked but didn't quite understand
If you have the correct TWRP 2.7 zip file, install and then reboot Recovery (NOT System.) If you don't have the zip, you should be able to upgrade TWRP using Goo Manager.

Can I download the zip from the TWRP Web site?
The TWRP site has image files for installation via fastboot.

It's Verizon so it's a vs980 but in settings it says D802? Does that matter?
Yes, it does. The VS980 is the only Verizon model. The D802 is a UK model.

How do I change it? Could or be the rom?
Sounds like you flashed a ROM for the wrong model. I'm not an expert on going back to stock for this phone, since I've had it for only a couple of weeks. There is a lot of info in the LG G2 XDA forum on reflashing stock. My advice: research before doing anything further with your phone, and then follow the recommended steps very precisely. In the meantime, charge it to 100%. EDIT: Did you make a nandroid backup of your original stock ROM before flashing the new one? If so, you could factory reset and restore, both using TWRP.
