Did anyone noticed any Youtube improvements? (stuttering / 1080p playback)
The static noise that was present at low volume disappeared for me, so as a result, clearer audio.
The transparent bars in landscape and portrait mode for the lock screen (I think this was not present in 4.4)

Yep static noise is definitely less audible at low volume. Nice fix.
Anyone still get the random reboot issue after this update?

that's discouraging.
Has anyone else noticed the date doesn't show up on the bootup initial lock screen, but reappears once you unlock and relock, also with the translucent bars they've corrected the spacing in the displayed date, in 4.4 it didn't have spaces.
Performance in Asphalt 8 seems to dropped also, maybe a placibo effect but it feels like the fps has gone down 10 frames
So there is no listing anywhere of a changelog or what all this OTA involves, fixes and changes?

updated already and now will observe if the random reboots are still occurring.
didn't see any immediately visible change. for instance on the homescreen, the transparent status above and home keys below weren't translucent like that of Nexus 5. on the lockscreen though, the status bar became translucent.
To those people with random reboot:
-Did you check your apps first? Try booting in safe mode and use your tablet for a day; if there is no reboot then that means some of your apps did that.
-Did your disabled any of Google app sync? Try enabling the sync again.
Personally I have never experience random reboot on this tablet. On my N7 2012 there were countless times the reboot occurs but that was definitely due to lack of ram.
Just updated to KOT49E. Video performance has improved. My Beweather animations aren't stuttering anymore.

My tablet can reboot twice a day and then no more reboot for 1 week... So it's very hard to make any test.
About 2 reboots on 3 is when the tablet is not in use and the screen is closed.
If I was almost alone with this issue... I could test some installed apps, however since many people is having the same issue, I don't think it is related to any "installed" app.

I expect many other nexus 7 users have installed any app you've installed. The fact that this impacts multiple users doesn't rule out a problem with installed apps.

What bugs?
Screen flickering ,random lags when accessing settings or apps.

Chrome seems laggier than it should be, hope there is some issue there than can be fixed to improve performance.
Every Nexus 7 I've had so far (that'd be 4) have all had washed out looking greens and yellows and over saturated whites. Hoping that is something a patch can fix.
Tegra 3's Prism smart dimmer feature causes the screen to look over exposed while and after videos play (fades away after a few seconds). I've disabled the smart dimmer, so it's okay for me, but seems like an issue that needs a patch.
I have seen nothing in JB 4.1.1 that would require an update at this point.
Might as well expect an update for dark pixels.

Screen flickering is a known hardware issue
Mine lags bad from time to time. I wonder if it has to do with google now because my galaxy nexus lags just as bad if not worse when i tap the google now search bar. I was trying to find and app (shazam) and thought it would be faster to look for it through now, but it lagged and lagged and lagged. By the time I got the app open, the song was over and I couldn't tag it.
My Gnexus is great, fast ,no complains at all,Google now is quick I got no lag, but on the nexus 7 it becomes a problem to the point that I have to switch it off and use the browser.

I use dropbox which is pretty much the same in terms of resources. I have play movies, music, currents, books. I have pandora on there, google now, generally everything you could need. I've done this on both stock 4.1.1 and on Paranoid Android (every iteration). Literally NO lag. Even being slightly underclocked.

Nope, it's from a poorly soldered wifi chip, that is drawing power away from the screen when wifi is low.
I had this issue, and called Google personally for support, and the person confirmed that the screen flickering was hardware, not software.

Never had any of that so I doubt its a "software issue". If it is its likely something you installed.
quick update about the lag on the nexus7:
i used Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.2 to root and install recovery about 4 times ,and in all this times i had problems with lag ,so two days ago i decided to restart again and root the n7 with Galaxy Nexus ToolKit v2.0 but without installing the custom recovery.
now it very quick and as no lag at all,and yes i loaded the identical apps all the previous time.
ideas???

I think most of the lag is because of a bad app or a setting somewhere. Glad to hear you got it sorted out. I'm just looking forward to the update that fixes the bootloader issues with accessing recovery without the usb cable or using terminal commands/adb/apps.

Must either be bad silicone, or a bad rogue app... You can try a factory reset and try again! Also this needs to be in the Q&A section, this is not a general topic.
I had it reboot after I took a picture, then I swiped to left to see the picture while in camera mode. Zoomed in on the picture, heard some screeching sounds (probably from auto focus of camera?) and then it rebooted.
I hasn't tried to reproduce it, but I do hear the screeching once in a while if I go into picture view from camera mode.
I have had random reboots with my nexus 7 on 4.2, so I think it's more of a software issue than anything else.

I have random reboots. As of yesterday, my phone rebooted 3 times. This morning I woke up, luckily before my alarm normally goes off, and notices my phone screen was on, but nothing was actually on the screen. I pressed the power button a few times and nothing happened. I unplugged the phone from the charger, tried it again, and notice the screen flicker, and then reboot. This morning it's already rebooted once.
Most of the time I was in Google Play Store, so I cleared the cache and data, and let it update to the newest version, so hopefully that fixes it. I sure hope I don't have a lemon. I really hope that the phone acting weird doesn't happen again, I can't afford to miss my alarm going off.
Mine has turned off on me twice since I got it. I think I was using bluetooth both times, but I can't be sure. Anyways, the Galaxy Nexus had issues like this when it first came out and the new Windows Phones have rebooting issues as well. I think Google rushed Android 4.2 out, but I'm sure everything will be stable after another OTA or two. That's the worst and best part about having a Nexus. You get brand new software first, so you sometimes feel like a beta tester, but you also get the fixes extremely quickly.
Glad I'm not the only one having random reboots. My n4 has rebooted twice this morning (within 2hrs). One hot and one cold.

Same happened to me today but i wasnt able to recreate issue.
I heard some screeching sound and then screen frozen and there it rebooted.
But after that i tryed to take pictures and i heard that screeching again but it not rebooted.
This was my frist time that Nexus 4 rebooted.
So
Software or Hardware issue?
I didn't have a reboot but shut off. First time yesterday and had the phone since Nov 20th. It wouldn't turn back on, not even charge .. Took maybe 30mins then it turned on. I was just texting, put the phone down.. Screen shutoff, wanted to text again and nothing. I have it unlocked and rooted only.. Stock everything.

My nexus 4 now on 4.2.2 just randomly rebooted for the 1st time.
I 'm dissapointed. Waited for this OTA for a couple months now for it to just fix this issue and it's still here? :/
I just can't be angry at the device cause i 'm absolutely in love with it. Best device ever made and 4.2.1 (and 4.2.2) are amazingly consistent and stable, but for this issue.
pff just hope that we don't have to wait till KLP for this to be worked out.
well, i just recieved my Nexus on Thursday and really satified. But, after 2 days using, it freeze and reboot for several times, today is 3. Just wondering is it because of hardware or firmware and is there someone have the same problem?

Can u list some?
This device is blazing fast most of the time, but it will inexplicably lock up, completely, for a few minutes at a time for seemingly no reason. Right now it's frozen on a youtube video and I can't turn it off or use the screen. The device is also unusable really when installing apps, and will lag heavily in Google Now sometimes.
Is this just me? Or 4.2.1?
Just you. My N7 is still operating at warp speed and doesn't lock up..

Are you stock? If so I heard people saying turning off the sync for currents will help, for Google now lag I feel its performs better if you turn off the hot word in setting. But with that you can't say Google and start voice search

I'm stock 4.2.1 and don't have those issues. I do have currents (and various other apps) disabled, so like previous response said try that. Otherwise maybe go with a factory reset.
When my gnex updated to 4.2 it's performance suffered until I factory reset, now it's been much better.

My best guess would be you have installed an app that is not compatible with 4.2.
How about posting a list of what you have installed, if you use multi-user, and if you are stock (not rooted), and we can give comments.
I agree. I'm running PA and rock solid. I was also rock solid on stock.
I've never had it lock up. I flashed a Trinity kernel once that caused sleep of death... but it was a known issue.

I have a pretty decent amount of apps installed. I'll post them in a minute, but no, I'm not multi-user, and I'm stock. I'll root and put a new rom on this thing if it's worth it, I figured it'd be fine the way it came.

thanks, I'll try disabling those.
Over 100 apps in total, my andronbench write speed is clearly an error so just compare read and app open macros.
My apps open much faster than yours, which I'd put down to PA ROM and kernel. Maybe your write speed is a bit slow?
Can you download "forever gone" from market and try a full fill and delete? Apparently helps reset the memory controller to improve performance.

This just started happening the other day. Randomly during the day it will not allow me to adjust the volume ( ie from vibrate to loud). The status bar moves when i move them but it doesn't actually do anything. Also when this starts happening, voice input no longer works. I cant do voice text voice searches etc etc.
I have to shut it down and restart it, then everything will work again. But it only lasts for a few hours and then i have to do it again.
I am stock and not rooted.
Thoughts?
It doesn't happen to me on my modded and tweaked Slim Bean Beta2. I would recommend doing a factory reset and see if that fixes your problem.

factory reset my phone and then install that backup or would that defeat the purpose of resetting it.
