Note 3 + HDMI + Touchscreen ? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, is there anyway to connect Note 3 to an external monitor and use it's touchscreen ability? I own 23 inch Acer screen with builtin Android, but it's very slow and laggy. It's possible to connect monitor to Windows 7/8 PC and use the touchscreen via USB. Is it possible to do the same with Note 3?

Check on accessories i think you might find a cable

[Q]connect tablet as monitir to windows 8

Is it possible to connect my galaxy tab using HDMI or USB or any other connection to use it as a touch screen monitor with windows 8 PC?
Well i'm sure the answer is yes, as you can do it with android (any version) and W7...... i just forget what the app is called.....
EDIT: iDisplay https://market.android.com/details?id=com.idisplay.virtualscreen&hl=en there's supposed to be a free demo on the dev's site

ICS now allows us to connect USB MIDI controllers to our NOTE!

I upgraded to ICS tonight and one of the best new features for me is the ability to now connect a USB MIDI controller via USB OTG.
This is awesome for me, and one of the areas that iOS absolutely kills Android.
Android still has a long way to go before it can offer anything like iOS for music creation, but this is a big step in the right direction.
I made a quick and rough video to show it working.

If you have a USB controller that is bus powered, then you can play your keyboard anywhere!
We just need more apps that support this feature now. I only know of one (the Grand Piano app I use in the video).
If anyone knows of any others, please let me know.
Cheers,
Rich
PS - I wasn't sure if this belongs in General, Accessories or Apps, so if it's in the wrong place, please move it.
I would kill to have AniMoog on an Android device with a midi controller. I play that APP for hours on end and is the only reason I keep the ipad. I'm an absolute sucker for Analog synth sounds. I may just skip the Ipad next go around and buy a Moog.
I think the display on the Note is too small for that app. Here's hoping Android gets some good synth apps soon.
Yeah, I think for live performance you would a 9 or 10" tablet. Although if you have the hardware controllers to adjust parameters, you just need the processing power of the device and be able to read the screen. You wouldn't need to use the screen to adjust fiddly knobs. But I doubt revs would write an appointment that requires an external device to be used effectively.
But if an app like Caustic had USB midi support, it would great for songwriting or noodling with ideas on the go.
The synthetic screens in that app aren't too cramped on the Note. I was even using it on the Galaxy S without a problem.

Korg Nanopad
I couldn't get the korg nanopad to work, (as in be recognized in USB MIDI Monitor)
This would be sweet for practicing my finger drumming on my lunch break or such.
I also have Maschine, but it blinks twice and then goes dark, I think it draws too much power. I plan to try a powered USB hub when I find the power supply.
Galaxy Note to Yamaha PSR I425
Hi,
I tried to connect my Galaxy note to Y PSR I425 USB using OTG adapter, the USB Midi monitor application detects the presence (as it pops up from the background) of some device, but eventually says "No midi device connected". Any idea? Any other app works with midi devices?
Thanks
Does that Yamaha keyboard allow you to connect as a standard midi controller?
If you plug it into your pc, does windows recognise it, or do you need to install a driver for it?
I haven't found any apps yet except the piano and pipe organ by the same developer

Yes, I am able to connect my PSR-I425 to Windows 7 (64bit) OS. This keyboard uses Midi via USB. Ofcourse you need a driver that comes with the CD (also downloadable I guess).
If you need to install a driver on win7, then it's not a standard usb-midi input device. Standard devices don't need a special driver for windows to recognise it as a midi device.
Android only works with standard usb-midi devices.

vga output
I suppose it depends on each user. For me one of the killing points from the Note (and for tab p7300) is the capability to connect through the right connector an vga projector. This is awesome for me as I use this devices for my work. In parallel I use a pointer connected by blue tooth.

I have a Yamaha motif es 8 that to connect to the computer needs drivers through the USB. What if I connect it through the midi ports with one of those midi usb would that work for android?
I'm not sure.
If you have one available without buying one, then it can't hurt to try...
BTW, the midi implementation on Caustic 3 is pretty cool.

Unfortunately I don't have one handy. Funny thing is I had a USB Host cable and even an otg cable so it's cool I found one on amazon for like $8. Will try the midi USB and report back...

you cant do that! your tv doesnt have the drivers to support the wireless lan adaptor... also your wireless Lan adaptor doesnt have some video output like miracast... so... your only option is to buy a chromecast or somenthing like that. :good:

You can do it.
first: after mounting the WIS12ABGNX Wireless Lan Adaptor to your tivi, you set Lan connection for it
then you turn on : Nearby Devices (In the setting) from your note and you samsung tivi requests to connect to your phone
then you play a video, and press the "Screen Mirroring" button on the stock video player
then you see 2 options, choose your tivi, and enjoy
Hello everyone , my name is Siddharth. I am new to this forum.
I was wondering if I could use Screen Mirroring feature on my Note 3 (SM-N900 , Exynos International model) to stream media wirelessly to a Sony Bravia 42-inch TV (Model: KL V-40S200A) with the help of a Tenda USB WiFi adapter (Model No. W311M).
The TV was brought in February 2008 so it's definitely not a Smart TV or has built-in WiFi. The dongle and was bought in August 2013 to the best of my memory.
It would really help if I could watch photos & videos shot from my phone without connecting those ugly two port MHL or even HDMI cables.

[Q] Help: Screen Mirroring using WIS12ABGNX to Samsung LED UA40C5000

Help: Screen Mirroring using WIS12ABGNX to Samsung LED UA40C5000
Hello,
I'm trying to get Screen Mirroring to work on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 to my Samsung LED TV UA40C5000 using the Samsung dongle WIS12ABGNX through WiFi.
After connecting the dongle to my LED TV, I was able to connect to my WiFi network from my TV. My Note 3 also is connected to WiFi. However, when I try to connect through Screen Mirroring, it shows my LED TV and says Connecting... but eventually does not get connected!!!
I then get a message saying " Screen mirroring disabled" on my Note 3.
Is there anyone who can help me get this resolved?
I tried updating the Allshare app on playstore and installed the Screen Mirroring Patch available on Playstore as well. No luck!
Thanks!

Hi, yes my Note 3 is stock (Android 4.4.2 Kernel ver 3.4.1-1168347) and Screen Mirroring doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

Is it possible to make tab 4 7.0 support otg?

As the title implies i was wondering whether my tab 4 7.0 support otg?
I bought an otg 3.0 usb and i couldn't open it..

My Tab 4 opens using various OTG cables and drives.
I have an OTG Cable which I use for connecting a PS3 controller and playing N64 games at my work with others.
My Meenova Dash Micro opens up with a standard Samsung File Manager pop up showing my files and connecting an sd card reader to a standard OTG cable works the same.
I would expect maybe the device itself perhaps is not compatible.
I have noticed with one in my store, the Wifi Only Version seems to be the one that has issues with OTG. The connected versions seem to be open to OTG. Personally that makes no sense but it seems to be the same with the Galaxy Tab 3 as well.
Can you specify the version of your tab 4? My tab 4 version is sm-t231
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
No, the 7.0 version of the Tab 4 does not use a Snapdragon like the rest, it uses a Marvell chipset which does not support OTG. I suggest you get one of these which works perfectly with the 7 inch Tab 4 (and unlike most other portable devices that let you access USB hard drives via wifi it does support SMB in addition to it's own app). Note that you must save the wifi password twice before turning it off or you will need to do a hard reset of the adapter (not the tablet).
