Hello everybody,
I really need your help for rooting my 3G Nexus 7 32GB in order to be able to use it as a Wi-Fi hotspot. It has Android 4.2.2 JDQ39 Jelly Bean and I tried to root it by this tutorial on YouTube: Nexus 7 ROOT - How to Root Nexus 7! (Android 4.2.1/4.2.2)
However, I could not be able to find CWM-SuperSU-v0.94.zip or even UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.04.zip in the SD Card after going to the Recovery Mode and I don't know why
Some people suggested to me to use recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-grouper.img instead of recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.0.6-grouper.img and even with that I could not find anything in the SD Card.
I am sure that I pasted both CWM-SuperSU-v0.94.zip and UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.04.zip in the SD Card from my machine (with Windows 7) to Nexus 7 but I don't know what the problem is
Could you please help me with this?
There is possibly a few storage locations. One is storage, the other may be under SDcard. The storage was changed under 4.2.2 iirc and depending on how you upgraded, some of your old sd card storage may be in an emulated folder.
I use the word SD card loosely as that's what it shows on my N7. I know it doesn't have a SD card.
Hi guys,
im currently running the jellybean app but it doesnt allow you to move apps to your sd card. Which roms can you as most dont make it very clear if they do or dont.
I use Android 4.2.2, And i can't use Link2SD to move data to SD card like you.
I thinks in ANdroid 4.2.2, Link2SD not work.
What was all the commotion about a while back regarding KitKat and SD cards? My phone seems to function EXACTLY the same as a phone running 4.2.2. I can move files about on the SD card, I can install appd to SD card, I can use third party apps to move files around on the SD card...

I am on MDK bootloader unlocked and one day I tried aosp and kitkat 4.4.2, it was running fine and I still could move app to sd card as usual but later I found out my sd card became useless, I still can use the card to store any thing but I cannot delete file that I stored from sd card and card cannot be formatted either. Does kitkat 4.4.2 broke the sd card? It seems that I can delete everything from card successfully but when I check card again, all files I deleted are still on the card. Does anyone have any idea?

Do you mean you back to touchwiz from aosp by restoring backup or by fresh install?

Google broke the SD card unless your rooted. The system can access the SD Card, but users can't write to it. If you have root you can edit the platform.xml and add R/W to media to fix the issue.
Samsung/ATT/T-Mobile could have fixed it but didn't. It's considered a security risk by Google, there are people that are for releasing the code as is and people that believe that Samsung should have addressed it.
I've got a strange problem here. My ROM is rooted, running 4.4.2 (dreaded KitKat); I've applied the SD card fix - manually edited the /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml file, *and* applied the Xposed fix for external SD card. After rebooting, i'm able to save new photos to my SD card. But after a while, damn Kitkat does not allow writing to the SD card again - the platform.xml file is unchanged, but something else prevents me from writing anything to the SD card. I hate KitKat, beggining to hate Google big time...!
Does anybody have a permanent fix for this stupidity that KitKat introduced? I'm reallyl desperate here...
Damn you Google!!!!
Thanks
I have the infamous issue RE: SD Cards in KitKat (read: can't write to it). I am running Hyperdrive. I have downloaded and run all of the fixes available at https://play.google.com/store/search?q=KitKat SD Fix and while they report that it is fixed, I am unable to transfer files from my PC to my SD Card.
This is really starting to piss me off ...
UPDATE: The xposed fix resolved the issue! WOOHOO!
