The stock rom would make you swipe the screen everytime the screen was turned on, even if your password time out had not been reach yet, but after I installed Mint v2 that has been removed and when you wake the device it goes right to your home screen.
Does anyone know how to enable this again? I've tried to search here and on the i9505 forums but could not find anything.
thank!

Not sure on stock since I didn't really use tw on this device but its usually setting > security that ROM probably has it turn off or something

Nope, I don't have anything in there about it. I had to take pattern off to make it swipe every time it wakes. Hopefully someone can figure it out Soon so I can put it back to pattern.
Thanks though.

On every phone I have had, after a few failed password attempts I get prompted to login using my google account but on my Nexus 4 I receive no such option. is this a new "feature" of the newer versions of android or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
Works perfectly fine for me when the pop-up appears that you'll have to wait 30 seconds there is a button next to emergency call which is labeled something like "forgot password ?"
But when you turn off/on the screen the button is gone

Thanks for replying.
After a few hours of searching I have come to the conclusion that the "forgot password?" button is for pattern only while PIN and Password do not have this option. I did try a patter and was able to login using google but not with a PIN.
I had this same issue about 2 weeks ago . I was changing my password while talking to some girl.
I guess I accidentally hit some buttons. Took me about 2hrs steady to figure out the password.
I thought I was going to need a factory reset :banghead:
But I didn't even see the option when I booted with volume key , ?

a solution created new acount...
I have searched the forums and Google to no avail.
I use the pattern unlock on my ATT GS4 but about 50% of the time the pattern unlock does not come up, but a box to swipe to unlock comes up instead. This is very similar to the problem that I experienced with my GS2.
Is there a fix for this? I am using stock ATT version MF3 unrooted.
There's an option in settings->security that can be changed to delay the password lock from showing immediately. sounds like it set to delay. Check that see if it's the problem.

Thanks, I think that may have fixed it.

somethimes when I put my finger on the scanner instead of unlock it it ask for the pattern password and sometimes it works well.
(when I try with finger that isn't in the system its vibrate and do nothing so from this I figure that it does recognize my finger when I use the right one and it open the pattern)
what can I do
Edit:i found the problem I was used an app names screen lock that make this problem if someone have the same problem check if u use an app that have connection with the lock screen you can check this is settings security
It asks for the pattern on the first fingerprint unlock after a reboot. Could it be your case?

It will do this when you first restart your phone.
Happens on every reboot, as @lomax79 and @geoff5093 said. I have also had it occasionally ask for my password for "extra protection".
do you have a lock screen replacement or perhaps you are using a launcher that has lockscreen settings enabled?
if so, that is likely the 'issue'. Try disabling it/them.
I occasionally get the password screen after attempting to unlock with a fingerprint. This is not after a reboot, just random times throughout the day. At first I thought it was random reboots while in my pocket, but the uptime clock has not been reset.
I've been getting this from day one and it seems to have good times and bad times regarding g how often it happens I could understand it happening if I was buying something.
Oh and it seems to happen more if I shut the phone down with Tap screen but if I put phone down and let it power down on its own it won't ask for password on next restart, bugs me a bit.hope Google can polish it up a bit.

It's not happen just after reboot it happen sometimes per day
It's possible your phone has been constantly rebooting. The only time it will ask for your pin or password is when you first boot up the device as an extra security layer. I've RMA'd my current device for that reason as well. Expecting a new one Monday. If the problem keeps happening I'd recommend RMA'ing
found the problem
How you solve ?

I just noticed that if you hit power or home button, then pull the notification bar down and toggle WiFi on or off. It will unlock the phone without a password or fingerprint. Can others try it and post their results maybe it's just my phone.
I'm on T-mobile and use the fingerprint lock
just your phone, mine asks for a fingerprint after trying to disable wifi!

No problem here: asks for fingerprint or code.

Maybe you have smart lock on?
Nah, asks for fingerprint/password when I try to disable/enable WiFi.

Probably smart lock or isn't locked. OP, on your lock screen a little lock icon at the bottom will indicate locked or unlocked. If it shows locked and unlocks when you do the WiFi settings crap then that's weird...
