Hi,
Since updating my GT-I9500 to Android 4.3, my phone has been draining battery very badly. In the battery stats, it shows "Android OS" as the culprit. Using BetterBatteryStats, it shows ssp_sensorhub_wake_lock has been running continuously since last reboot. BetterBatteryStats also show that my phone is awake (100%) since unplugged.
I am seeing this since MJ5 firmware. I am currently running MK8. Stock rooted.
Can anyone help?

It is important to see the second battery graph (tap over the little graph above).
Do you have any wather station app (humidity and air pressure) or widget running? Try to uninstall all those apps so you can locale the problem, and then install them one to one and watch...
Also you can try to wipe cache and dalvik, or even overflash same rom again with odin 3.09.

1) Please find new battery stats below, with the 2nd graph.
2) I have Ambient installed but it has been greenified (I have been suspecting this app all along since SSP is possibly referring to the device sensors). I will try to uninstall it and update.
3) Cache & Dalvik has been wiped a few times, no improvement. To re-flash using Odin 3.09, I'll try later but I do not see how this can help the situation. I used 3.07.

Uninstalled Ambient. No improvement. Disabled Air Gesture, I can see the ssp_sensorhub_wake_lock gone in BetterBatteryStats top list but battery is still bad and Android OS is still at the top.

Ok, in the 2nd graph we can see there is no partial wakelocks. About Odin 3.09, yes, if you have i9500 Odin 3.07 is ok, I thought you had LTE version.

Before be sure if it works, you should start a new battery cicle (from unpowered), or set in battery starts a custom reference.

Yup, I'm currently monitoring for a few cycles. Will update the result in 1 or 2 days.

Ah ok, Russia, thanks. I think it's the only country, so not to much tested. I'd prefer to test this problem with a very tested ROM such as any MK1...

I have a feeling it's Google Search causing this issue. I iwas using the Nexus 5 apk on my phone. I uninstalled the update, and re-update via Play Store and my phone no longer having the "Android OS" topping the battery stat. It has been >2 days without issue.
Dies anyone ralize what was this issue about? I'm just having the same problem and uninstalling Google search did not solve it

I've got a strange problem on my n7. After fully charging and unplucking, the battery indicator will show 100 percent for about an hour. Better battery stats is also reporting 100 percent for an hour.
I'm currently running pa 2.20 but also had this problem on slim bean and stock. I think it started after I used the Franco kernel for some time. At least, that's when I first noticed it.
Installing a new rom, a factory reset, relocking and unlocking the bootloader and reinstalling stock all did not help.
Does anybody have an idea what's going on here and how I can solve this problem?

I know that Franco Kernel use a custom Ramdisk, that even when flashing a new kernel it may not get overwritten, whether this could affect the battery stats, you would have to ask him.
I asked in bricked kernel dev forum, if it was required to flash a new boot.img when loading new custom kernel, and the answer was only if coming from a Franco Kernel, due to his custom ramdisk.
I know that following this guide will return you to stock everything, including the ramdisk
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796
. In theory you can just flash a stock boot.img via fastboot and achieve the same result, you lose root and all, but I've never done it, only restored a factory image via adb.
showing 100% for an hour or more is normal while using. if sleeping it could show 100% for several or more hours. it actually shows 100% when the real capacity is at 95%. if you leave it plugged in after it shows 100%, you can charge the battery a bit more.

yes. instead of worrying about it, enjoy you device and its awesome battery life
Just signed up to this site today (3mins ago) after likeing the look of custom ROMS (seen it on CNET UK).
So installed my first custom ROM yesterday at about 10-11 pm. Went through all processes rebooted my phone
Switched it back on came up with usual Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505,went onto next screen and said Google instead of Samsung.
So I thought great its worked, so I went through setup phone (English' United kingdom, do you have a Google account etc).
Once all that was done I adjusted some settings like ringtones etc, played around with it for a while to get used to the ROM.
At about 1130 - 1145pm I unplugged my phone (100% charged).
Woke up today and picked my phone up to check the time (745am) and emails but my my phone didn't respond I thought **** its bricked so I held power but just to make sure it wasn't battery was dead and it was! Anyone else haveing battery problems with the leaked android 4.3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341026
(Above is the ROM I downloaded)
I have nothing else apart from a rooted GT-I9505 XXUAMDM no custom kernel just this Custom ROM.
Any help will be appreciated my battery lasted about 8 hrs with no use cause I was asleep!
Yes battery is currently an issue with any 4.3 roms. Keep in mind that Google hasn't OFFICIALLY announced any release date for 4.3.
So the leak we have right now is probably the developer version and/or a version which is on a very early stage.
Oh btw you're lucky to get 8hrs of battery others reported 4 or 6hrs

Use odin how exactly im new to the custom rom seen
Try flashing the 4.2.2 google edition instead. The 4.3 version is leaked and not even supposed to be released for public use, hence may have issues.
Edit: hmm.. The rom you linked to is 4.2.2? Is it not?

I have all location stuff off. If you have on that might drain battery.
I was getting poor battery using 4.3 like 4-5 hrs with little use have since gone back to 4.2.2 hope the devs can work there magic and fix soon for us

I also had a terrifying battery life. I would recommend getting the 4.2.2 "Google edition" rom created by jamal2367. It's pre rooted and has all the features from the 4.3 update and best of all, the battery is great!
Isn't that leaked 4.3 rom currently for TW only? I would highly recommend one of the AOSP roms. Use either Illusion or Liquidsmooth provided they are released for this type of the phone, I have the T-Mobile M919.

Still no solution ... "Android OS" and "Android System" processes still quickly draining the baterry, even after 3 omega v23(kitkat) flashes + 1 wanamlite rom 4.4.2. Same results all the time.I think this is TW related problem and I will try a non-TW 4.4.2. custom ROM.I Will post back soon
Updated to stock 4.4.2 India ROM. Battery life is so far so good. 4% drop over-night. Shall post updated after EOD. The Android system is running because of the com.sec.sviewcover application. Think it is triggering the sensor without the cover and the phone is searching for it. If we can freeze it then hopefully the drain can be restricted.

A pity that wakelock detector doesn't work for the moment.
Yesterday, 1st full day using stock rooted lollipop, i had 22hours before battery fully drained, with 2:50h screen on time,
wifi & 3g activated, auto sync too, 2 reboots and apps installations.
You'll have an idea at the end of the day.
Also, if it drains, maybe because of "gadget" apps.
i know that stock email app in previous android versions is a battery-eater app.
Also, maybe check in your account settings the syncs activated and uncheck some.
Strange....with kitkat I had the same settings...and I could use my nexus for more than a day
This lollipop is a major drainer! I'm disappointed... I'm sticking with KitKat for now till I get the Nexus 6

You guys seem to be getting the wifi "miscellaneous" drain. The stock images were supposed to fix that (hence the delay). I would try a complete reset.
Once more I've flashed lolipop.....
Fastboot method, rooting with NRT....
After 7 hours of non intensive use, 51% battery remains ....what's this S..t ?
any help please.....
I've done a complete reset and installed a factory image and I'm having severe drain...

I'm going to try just the exact way you describe it. I'll let you know if it works. And thanks for the tip!

So ?
I have the note 4 from verizon, rooted with xpossed and running JASMINE ROM 7.0 and every time I'm using my phone at ~35% it thinks it's dead n shuts it's self down without the shutdown process it just goes to a black screen. Then it attempts to reboot but gets stuck in a bootloop until I plug it in then it reads 34 or 35%. I have colaborated the battery with root essentials app from Google play store. On the other hand when I'm not using it it dies around 20% it does the same thing. Is this a hardware or software issue?

Unfortunately dialing *#0228# doesn't work on my current ROM, do you know of an app or another way I can access this menu?

I am facing the same problem the link which was given to you won't solve the issue so i think it's a software related or it's a "bug".. mine shuts down at 15 to 10% and goes into a bootloop..
So my recommendation is do not attempt to do anything. buying a new battery or factory reseting your phone will not solve this problem i tried every method in xda
Just use it as it's hoping that next update solves this problem "fingercrossd"
Cheers

I was trying out this ROM [ROM][6.0.1]Nseven [N910VVZW2CPL1][1/10/2017]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/development/note-4-grace-7-t3434155/page233 and in the post there's a kernel that I flashed to be able to install the ROM and after using the ROM I decided to restore my phone from a backup on TWRP and didn't re flash my boot img and my battery seems to last longer. I did have to re install supersu binary from TWRP to get it working but my phone battery seems to be working much better then before. Here's the kernel link from OP or u can find it in the link above BeastMode-Kernel_2_ZL.zip - OneDrive
https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=...1517&parId=6729B30E83B8764C!185&action=locate I would recommend to test it I'm not sure if it actually helped or not but it seems to have just wanted to let you know as an idea or an option i guess.

*Update My first battery cycle lasted till 4% after i took the screen shot within 2 min phone died
I am on the 2nd cycle now, my max battery cycle for the battery to calibrate probably is 5 full cycles if the problem remains.. my only solution is a custom rom and kernel.
