Im looking for fixes for my issues with the DVP.
First off I have 2 apps that wont download or update. I have an ilomilo update will not update unless using the wifi or connecting to the PC. The sims 3 is the same way. Trying to use wifi doesnt work and tends to lock up and needs a battery pull. Connecting to the PC doesnt do anything and havent figured out to sync apps doing so without buying from the marketplace from the PC.
Lately I have been witness some lag and hesitation for some reason, not sure if its going between 3g and Edge. But today i noticed it bad and was wondering if there is any fix for this. To further explain my situation i may be texting a message and it takes about 5 seconds for the first letter to come up then its fine. Not sure if anyone else has witnessed this issue. I cycled the phone off then on and hoped this fixed it. Havent really witnessed it after that.
Is their any fix for my issues I really need my apps to download and clear off because i paid for the Sims 3 and havent even played it yet.
i'd contact Dell and request a replacement, your phone shouldn't lock up when WIFI is enabled, it could be a hardware issue.
im on the phone with Dell now, I told him to send me a replacement.
But he also said Dell is working on an update to fix the WIFI issue whih is suppose to be released this Month.
Lets see if they actually replace my device or deny me, the guy said he had to talk to his manager
Well I figured out one of my problems but its still a problem they have to fix. I found out I cant let the phone sleep while trying to update apps or download big apps over WIFI. Weird, but thats the only way i could download stuff that was in quen

That seems to be a common issue. If I let my phone go into standby while installing an app it will often not come out of sleep.
exactly what i was running into. They need to fix that, i dont want to keep my screen active while while the app downloads
hi guys, for the last day or so I have been having some issues with my atrix. It started with not being able to get connected to some of my bluetooth devices and now I seem to not be able to turn on Wifi or Bluetooth at all. Bluetooh just pauses for a second and then doesn't turn on while Wifi actually says "Error" I am unable to modify any settings under wifi.
I am running the latest Gingerblur, I have rebooted several times, uninstalled any apps that manage Wifi or bluetooth and even tried pulling the battery. Any advice?
Ugh Update: I just factory restored it and still getting errors.
Currently in the process of downloading the SBF and re-flashing. I will update this thread with the results for the next guy that has this issue!
Downloaded the 1.5x sbf flashed it, same error... Ps At&T Tech support clearly don't know much about anything...
Problem appears to be hardware related I have been sent to motorola for troubleshooting. UGH.
Thanks
I am having the same issue as well IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE PLZ HELP!!!!
I am also having this same problem with my Atrix that I have only had for about 4-6 months now. Bluetooth pauses, and Wifi says "Error" underneath it. This happened shortly after AT&T/Motorola provided the 2.3.4 Update for my phone. I have unlocked/rooted/and ROM'd with CM7 and still continue with the same issue. I would really appreciate any help that we could get to resolve this issue.
I too, have this issue. I tried all sorts of radio's and switched kernels and roms and wifi and bluetooth will not work on any of them.... I initially thought the problem happened right after I switched to CM7, but it's possible I just hadn't noticed the issue before (since I really haven't used wifi in over a month). And then while testing the power controls in the new notification drawer I noticed wifi and bluetooth didn't appear to be responding.
see my comments (and others) in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1267582
UPDATE: Fixed, see post #7 for details.
Had my Nook about a week now. I know all about SOD, and have Tasker set to turn WiFi off when the screen is off, and it hasn't been a problem.
What has been a problem is the WiFi randomly dying. WiFi will be on, but it won't recognize my home network. After a reboot everything is back to normal.
I looked through another thread in the dev section about this, the thread had some examples of router settings. My router settings match those, and I'm still having this problem.
So I'm not sure- is it a kernel issue with the wifi driver, or still a router problem? Anyone else having this kind of issue and can point me in the right direction, maybe other router settings to try?
Thanks!
When you bring up the list of access points, does it see any of them? That is, do any APs have the little signal-strength meter next to them?
If not, that's a problem that ISTR has been fixed in recent nightlies; at least, I haven't encountered it in a couple of weeks, after getting it nearly daily.

No, it doesn't recognize the AP at all, and if I try to manually connect it'll connect for a second then drop it.
I'm a couple nightlies behind so I'll update and see if that helps.
What rom are you using with your nook? or just the stock rom. I have the same issue with the 87 nightly build, but it's gone when I tried a newer build.
I was just about to post something like. I have a similar Issue. I dont know what ROM I was running before ( flashed it many months ago, was Froyo) but yesterday I installed CM7 (Gingerbread) (from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030227 ) and I have the same issue.
Wifi works and randomnly dies. It still shows connected and full signal strength, but it won't access the network/internet until I reboot it. All other devices connected to the router work fine, including an EVO 4G running Gingerbread.
Any Ideas?
Ok so I'm on the latest CM7 nightly now, still experiencing this problem. WiFi just drops out randomly, often in the middle of loading something.
When this happens I can see that WiFi is on, but it can't see any AP's- so it's not a router issue. Restarting fixes it, but it's annoying to be reading something then have to restart just to get connected again.
So now I'm thinking it's a kernel problem. Is there anyone who's running an older version of CM7 without the OC kernel built in, and has experienced this same issue?
Ok, got it fixed, or so I think. Figured I'd update here so anyone else having the same problem can get help.
The issue, as was suggested in another thread, is with having too many AP's saved. Because the NC was synced with my google account, it automatically downloaded a whole list of AP's from my phone. I went into wireless settings and deleted everything except the 2 or 3 I use on a regular basis, and the wifi is solid as a rock now.
About 3-4 days ago, my connections to wifi went in the toilet. Meaning; every wifi spot I connect to (home, parents, store, restaurant) gives me around or less than dial up speeds. Even though I was having this on every wifi connection I use, I still troubleshooted my on router setup, to no avail.
After searching pretty intensively, I came across one other person with this exact same issue. He found that his issue fixed with the latest Android Webview update; however, mine did not. So, just to test it, I disabled Webview entirely, and magically, my wifi was fast again. But, about 45 mins later, it got slow again.
I am sure a factory reset would fix it, I just got done getting everything back on it from a reset 2 weeks ago after my Lollipop update. Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this issue, without a factory reset?
Bump.
I tried a factory reset, and it didn't fix this issue. I'm assuming I just need to get a replacement.
I had to fight with Verizon (as I have the VS980) for over an hour, but I finally have a replacement coming. Seeing as no one seems to either have any clue on this issue, or are willing to help, I figured it was all I could do.
Hello Guys, I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask something like this, so apologies if I'm asking in the wrong place, but I've searched a lot the past days and haven't found a solution yet :/
Less than a week ago, I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab A6 (SM-T285) 7" LTE, and pretty much since day one, the tablet keeps disconnecting and reconnecting on every wi-fi I tried so far (3-4 different networks). I lose my connection for a couple seconds, causing any app running to lag a bit, then the notification that I have been connected to (the same) wi-fi comes up, and it starts working again. I googled a bit and tried using WPS button, Keep Wifi on during sleep, always allow scanning, even turned flight mode on, but the problem remains. Also, googling usually returned solutions that were aimed towards the router, although I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the tablet, since it's not just on one router. I'm at a loss on how to fix this and the only thing I can compe up with atm is to try a factory reset, which is weird, since the problem was with the tablet literally from the beggining. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance

I haven't really encountered that problem on my device. If you still have problems with the device after factory reset I suggest you try to get a replacement and see if it fixes it. You can also test if the problem goes away if your device is the only one connected to the router or setup a static IP. You can also post a logcat during the interruption so that we can get a better a handle on what is happening.

I get the same issue on my T280, highly annoying.
It seems better since the latest update, it's done this since day 1.

Try to re-flash your firmware and then install root. There is an application that grasps the Wi-Fi, so it doesn't disconnect and reconnect everytime.

Also, if you don't want to root and just stay in stock firmware, then go to this link (it is from a Samsung Moderator and yes, it is official): http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...7407616!1470947554734&from_osc=&homeid=342384
Solution brief statement:
- disable Connectivity Monitor and Wireless Uplink
- set the AP is set on fixed channels
- run the lastest stable upgrade of both AP and Controller

Not sure what you're trying to advise here or why you're advising to flash stock firmware and root?
Also the link to the knowledge base solution doesn't work as its session key has expired.

What do you mean "Also the link to the knowledge base solution doesn't work as its session key has expire."? I have just checked the website and the session key has not expired and it still works for me.

Never mind got it working by using a different browser.
Thanks for posting it, but Samsung's 'solution' [emoji55] is to simply disconnect and reconnect the wifi which I have already tried.
It's related to the device not the network as I don't have any issue with any of my other devices on the same network.
Maybe if they'd release some source code that actually worked I might be able to do something about it instead of them refusing my request.

Ok, if I find a solution, I'll be sure to tell you.
+1 I'm also getting this issue like crazy on my T280
Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
Mine too. I have the T280, Best Buy has the T350 for $20 more. Has dual band wifi. Might try exchange it, but I rooted it already. Can I go back to stock without them knowing?
I was dealing with this issue although it was never more than an annoyance because it never actually interrupted my wifi connection, it just showed the little toast message that said it reconnected
I somehow magically got the device to stop doing this and I don't know exactly what fixed it, but I think the step that did it was flashing the stock firmware to the device. After that, it never seemed to have the annoying bug again.
The other things that could have done it relate to installing root and using Link2SD to disable some bloatware and moving all user apps to the SD card, but my guess is the fix came from flashing the stock ROM
I have the same problem with SM-T280 (T280XXU0AQA4), tried many wireless network and I have always disconnections. There is a solution for this problem?

Also for me since day 1
I have the exact same issue with my A6 10.1.
Posted about it a while back, I tried a factory reset, i tried clearing the cache. I took it to the service centre who did a complete software rebuild. I reset my router to factory and gave the tablet a static ip address. In the end I got a replacement, the replacement has the exact same issue. A friend bought the tablet the same day I did and has the exact same issue, they also got a replacement, their replacement also has the issue. So that's 4 out of 4.
Samsung couldn't care less, I've called customer service who suggested taking it to the service centre or getting a replacement, both things I've done. I've emailed and received nothing but generic cut and paste replies telling me to factory reset and clear the cache partition. I'm over my 30 days and can't return it. So I have a lovely paper weight and I'm back to using my iPad 3 because it may be slow as anything but at least it stays connected to wifi.

It may not be Samsung's problem but the place where you bought your tablet from. You might have to reflash it to stock (the ODIN way or the Samsung Smart Switch way). Some stores refurbish items and just take the same item repackage after thinking that it is okay to use because they just hook up the tablet to the computer without it actually connecting to the wifi.
If you want to do the ODIN way, you should try going to www.updato.com and find your software and device number and install it. There will be a guide there.
If you want to do the Samsung Smart Switch way, just go download it for the PC and it should tell you how to do it. (YOU NEED YOUR DEVICE NUMBER AND SERIAL NUMBER!)
Or if it still doesn't connect online, it might be because the host file is messed up. It is located in ./system/etc./host
I'm not sure but you should be able to find it through ES File Explorer.

Thanks but I took it to the local service centre who reflashed the firmware and it made no difference. Support told me it's a known software issue but they don't know when or even if a fix will be released.
It connects to the wifi fine, it just drops connection constantly, it shows as connected and I'm sat less then three feet from my router but try streaming or opening play store and it says no connection retry. Then you have to wait until it decides to work again, sometimes that's seconds, sometimes a few minutes. Sometimes you have to manually disconnect and reconnect wifi or turn the device off then back on. Rince and repeat.
I'll download smart switch and give it a go but I don't see it helping to be honest.

Try rooting your device and then check your hosts file and fix it. Sometimes, after when I installed Freedom (In-App purchase hack) it updates the Host file to disable it to connecting to the Internet. It should only say 127.0.0.1 Host, not something like app referrer: 108.xxx.xxx

Thanks but I honest'y can't be bothered with it anymore. As I said myself and a friend got the same tablet, we've both had the same issues, we both got replacements, both the replacements have the exact same issue and I assume it's massively unlikely all 4 tablets have host file issues. I've wasted hours of my life on this (resetting my router to factory for some reason caused my wifi printer to flail which took 4 days to fix). I've not rooted it and haven't installed anything that should mess with the host file.
I may change my mind and give it a go one day when I'm bored. I assume rooting doesn't invalidate the warranty/trip the knox etc?
I ran smart switch last night, backed up, reinstalled the sofrware then restored from backup. Only the backup didn't restore all the app settings, so it removed all the progress on the games I had been playing.

Root does trip your warranty and it is a pain in the but when you are trying to install applications like Oasis's Island app because it knows if you had a "modified" OS. So, you have to be careful on what kind of application you still want to use.
If you can get another replacement or exchange, reset your device and then hand in to the store for a SM-T350 or some other device.
I know that SM-T350's are good for games and other content like watching videos.
Hope I helped and I wish you the best of luck.
The T280/T285 doesn't have knox, so nothing to trip.
Can confirm reflashing stock did not fix it on my t280. Starting to think the only fix is to get a different tablet...
