[Q] Disabling S Planer as default calendar app - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There is any way I can disable S Planer as my default calendar app? Down on the aplications settings there is the clear defaults option for most apps, but not S Planer.
I´m on 4.3 Stock, non rooted and not willing to root my device too soon.
Any help is aprecciated.

Knox counter does not void warranty. I saw many users confirming they got warranty despite Knox counter wasn't 0

Can someone explain me how warranty works? What happends if Knox Counter become 0x1? Will it avoid warranty? Also hardware warranty? I like to flash roms, so do you suggest Note 3 to me? Now i have an HTC One....

Knox counter hit 0x1 then you need to send in for repairs you will get bill..
You'll still be allowed to send it in for repairs, you just need to pay for them.
I sent mine to samsung service centre. No charges when they fix my phone. From singapore

Very lucky indeed. It's because of situations like yours that the Knox flag exists in the first place. You borked a flash and lacked the skill to fix it, no way Samsung should be obliged to fix it for free.

If you're in EU region your warranty still be valid for hardware problems, if not caused by software(overclock..eg).
Does anyone know if 0x1 is still covered by warranty in Australia. I've read that some parts of the world still have cover.

Rooting mja

Hello everyone and thanks for helping me out in my last post. OK so I wait and get my mja update, which by the way fixed all the bugs on the gs4. Now I am thinking I want to root but I can't find a guide online anywhere, a Lil help would be appreciated.

You haven't searched or read much. You can use CF auto root.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
No I have done my research CF doesn't work with sprint gs4 Mja build
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
hm I did cf auto root, and it worked just fine for me.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
It made knox go 0x1 right?

The only way to root MJA is to use CF and trip the Knox counter.

OK just a few more questions. So in the distant future will it be possible to turn knox back to 0x0 and unroot phone?

Maybe. But it doesn't matter. At this point in time, it has been confirmed that Sprint will not be denying service for devices with the Knox counter tripped.

Yep your right. Only thing I'm having trouble with now is where is my cwm to flash cyanogenmod.
I also have great news for all gs4 users who aren't rooted yet and running mja. I ran cf auto root on my pc with all anti-virus turned off and everything worked perfect, no SU or knox problems at. I was on sprint mja build.
Read up, make sure u have the right software and drivers and you should be fine.

From galaxys3man30:
Mr.kennyglass123 just got some confirmed info that sprint will repair/replace your phone with the knox counter set 0x1 so that's some positive news. I've have been able to successfully root and add a custom kernel to 4.3 without any issues and it's not as bad as it seems just people where making the mistake of trying to go back to a earlier update and with the new bootloader that just not possible right now. So, it's not that scary to do this update but I can understand where ur coming from thou buddy. I will be here to help you with it if you need me buddy I have successfully remove all of knox from the ota rom so far so it's that hard to get removed and such. Just trying to give some encouraging info buddy.

An important clarification, Sprint will do this! Samsung will NOT!!!! It is very important you understand the difference. If you are paying for Sprint TEP (Total Equipment Protection), Best Buy Protection, or even Square Trade Insurance then the Knox flag shouldn't be a problem. If you do not have any of the insurance packages and you are solely relying on the Samsung warranty for your phone than you should know that Samsung will reject any warranty claim if the Knox flag is tripped or they can tell that you rooted it. They will fix your phone for a fee.

[Q] How do i know my device is knox secured?

Hey Xda,

Yep...your bootloader is secured...knox will trigger 0x1 if you root it and/or flash custom rom or mods and you loose warranty

Re - enable Knox?

Hi so I rooted my phone and super user asked me to disable Knox so I did. But I use Knox frequently and now I can't get access it just says device not authorised. Is there away to enable it without a full reset?

Bad news bro. You have voided the warrantly.
Check knox flag is now 0x1

By rooting your phone and assuming you ended up with Knox 0x1, you can no longer use Knox.
You can use KNOX, it just isn't classed as *secure* -- Superuser has disabled KNOX on you, you'll have to find KNOX stuff in either TiB or in Application manager and re-enable it again. If that doesn't fix, then you'll have to unroot (if you choose to re-root don't agree to freezing KNOX when prompted)
/M
If knox counter is triped....it will not work anymore. ..no way to reverse besides a change of main board
Teleported from my SM-N9005 from the Enterprise
Oh so once knox is tripped you can no longer use it? I thought it was just a warranty thing
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
Well this is a bit of a bummer. There has to be some way to turn it back. I didn't know it couldn't be reenabled. Oh well. I don't need the warranty.

Root without triggering knox?

Hi I wanted to know if there is any way to root without triggering the knox warranty thing ....just want to root ..
Never had a phone with warranty before so don't wanna mess this up.

No way to do that directly. HOWEVER for N900 it seems to be possible to reset knox flag and downgrade - look after the relevant threads around!

As long as the fault will not stop you from doing it - for instance if the USB connector is no longer working you will not be able to get that back
