[Q] How do I remove default music widget from lock screen? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Whenever I have any audio playing from any program(radio/music/audiobook program), my default lock screen will add a page like this and shown as the default:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It looks more like a bug than a feature because it's ugly as hell and sort of shows the album art but overlaid by a ~75% transparent black cover, only pause button is available, and I cannot remove this no matter what(press & hold does nothing). Again no matter what the settings are in the audio/music program(I've tried poweramp, rocket player, tune in radio, & listen audiobook player), this page always shows up as my default lock screen, to see my own custom lock screen, I have to swipe left.
I'm using the At&T version of Note 3 if that makes a difference. anyone experiences similar issue and has a solution?

am I the only one with this issue here???
that would be really weird but I've searched everywhere and don't see a solution.

I use power amp and I have the same thing but I do have skip song and back

still waiting to see if anyone comes up a solution for this...

Its not an issue.
I use Poweramp, and it has a setting to disable it in lock screen settings.
Make sure "Enable Android Lock Screen" is not ticked.
Am not sure about the other players , but I believe they have an option to disable it.

it doesn't seem to matter. I've tried Poweramp, Rocket player, Tune-in radio & built-in music player(different and a bit nicer looking, still can't remove it). And I've tried it with 3 different note3 with different firmware(all at&t, factory ROMs just rooted). did you verify this with your note 3 or you just assume it'll work on note 3 the same as nexus 7?

This recently began displaying on my phone as well. I use poweramp but in the past few days I've now got this widget on the main screen that I cannot remove. I prefer to see the clock. What gives?

I'm also interested in this.. I hate this widget popping out on my lockscreen when lauching music.
Is there any xposed module for that ? I only found one for hidding the (stock) text message notification on lockscreen.

wow! thanks for this. I had my music player widely displayed on my lock screen before. I did this and it worked!

thanks in advance!
Looks like the same Lockscreen used on Samsung Pixon.
For me, its just another not memory-optimized Samsung-App and the "Press and hold on one button" is not a very safe lock...
Hmmmm....
I keep seeing this lock screen around the net. Mine has the standard 6.5 slide to unlock. Where did you get this one?
This is a old version of windows default lock screen.

it comes standard on the i920 verizon version of the Omnia 2, except it doesn't say hold to unlock, just push to unlock. Over on modaco someone tried to alter it to make the button a slide to unlock but leave the rest, as it has controls for touchplayer built into it. Maybe someone here who knows flash and action script will have better luck?

Try Yellow Man by SSkin / Prompt. It works great on Omnia i8000

anyone? Personally I like the Samsung lockscreen because of the touchplayer controls built in. So if someone can figure out a way to turn the button into a slider it would be awesome..
did you try Slide2Unlock. Not using it myself, but they have some nice options, but I don't remember if they have a music player options build in.
yeah i tried that, with vj brisk, but I am trying not to install more stuff..trying to keep free space and use fewer resources.
I had it.... And switched it instantly when i heard of S2U2....
Why? because of the lack of customization... and i think its more safe having a slide to wanser when getting the pda from the pockets
to VODOOS user
Yes, if you install Slide2Play, when the app is open, the controls show up on the lockscreen. even better that the S2U2 has some options to open S2P when you plug the hearphones, it has a option to show album-art on lock screen when playing music... and some more things... shame is that S2P is a bit basic... But in adiction with S2U2 , works very well.

Hi Where can get the look screens on omnia 2 divice in spanish version

Is there an app to put power control widget in notification pulldown?

That would be sweet. Pretty much the only feature of my long gone jailbroken I*phone (sbsettings) that I miss was activating that screen with a swipe without exiting the focused application. It must be possible in android. Any info?
Quicksettings?
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
There is an app in the market called "Quick Settings" which can be placed in the Ongoing notification dropdown that is customizable to include everything on the power control widget and more.
I am a fan of "power strip", a great paid app.
Quick Settings is really nice. Thanks y'all.
FYI, I've also used NOTIFi by Sisedi Media. It's skinnable and has a polished look that's a little different from the normal android UI.
Try QuickDesk Beta. It's a single extra homescreen that you access by double tapping the home button. Can put any widgets or shortcuts that you can put on your home screen. That way, all you have to do is double tap your home button, use the power strip, then hit back to get out of QuickDesk Beta and you'll be back in your original app.
The MIUI ROM has this as a fixed element at the bottom of the drop down.

The amount of times i've wished I didn't have to return to Home Screen to toggle GPS / WIFI etc - this is the absolute perfect solution. If it had customisable entries where we could launch a task switcher - WIN WIN!
+1 hopefully.
Perhaps this thread should be moved to Andoid General for greater visibility?
Steve.
theres an app thats called "in app toggle wifi" or something where you just have to hold the search softkey for a couple of seconds. even better in that it is hidden.
A good alternative is quickdesk by ruqqq, I've set it to bring up its "screen" on home double tap.
quickdesk is awesome. Not only can use power control but any app that you want without leaving any application. love it
Just noticed that the galaxy tab has this too.

Music Widget

Hi all - does anyone have a music widget for the galaxy tab? After a really simple one which can have a 60% opacity background (Want it to match my home screen)
Seems my Galaxy tab doesn't have one stock, which is annoying.
One like the one on the dell streak would be good.
Any ideas?
Cheers
would love to have one of this too, the one with the whole screen, just for the hell of it ^^
saw it once on sense or somewhere, but its definitely out there
like this..

available to download from the market, PURE MUSIC WIDGET ..

I like Mixzing, they have 3 diff sized widgets a full screen, mid sized, and a simple bar. I don't think you can lower opacity, but i think you can skin it if you buy the full version. Amazing music player & Video player as well, doesn't eat your CPU either.
these are all transparent widgets

Try Music Mod from the Market. It is modified standard Android music app and it has widgets. If there only were controls on the Lockscreen it would be even better.
That's exactly what I posted
I use power amp best one on the market in my opinion n has 5 diffrent widgets well worth the $
Got what I was after in the end
how?
how did you get the genie google weather widget to go transparent ?

why don't you try Winamp for Android? it's free in Market and has also a nice widget....
So does PowerAmp.
its not actually a widget, but the shake2play next app works well for me. I just launch after my music app and whenever i want to skip a song, i gently shake the tab once and it either shuffles or skips to next song. Great for me when im listening to music and don't want even open my tab

change brightness

is there anyway to change brightness without minimizing application or going to setting menu or use widgets. Tab 2 has this cool notification bar from where you can do lots of things like changing turning off/on gps,wi-fi,sync, change volume and brightness (manually) or set auto. And it does it without interruption.. very useful! On Nexus 7 it's a whole different thing.. i use power toggles from playstore and it has that option to put the toggles in the notification bar.. it works but not the way i would like it to.. Like for example i'm watching youtube and i want to bump up the brightness i pull down notification bar select brightness slider and youtube stops the video.. now after i adjusted the brightness i have to click on play icon sometimes the video resumes sometimes it reloads or rebuffers.
You get the point.. Thanks!
Try Widgetsoid.
It might work better for you than power toggles

no it does the same thing .. ohh well!
quad core should handle simple things like that.. i'll write to painless death see what they gonna tell
Maybe this?
nope the same thing.. i guess it's JB itself! No matter what i try it does the same thing stops(pauses) youtube. I wish youtube had those gesture controls like in MX player or BS player or basically any other third party video players!
Notification Toggle. You can have access to all the settings like WiFi, GPS, brightness, sound etc. all in the notification drawer.

yeah i've tried it not exactly what i'm looking for.. I want application that would do it seamlessly without any interruption. Just like volume.. when press volume rocker the volume control pops out over playing video you can still use the rocker or you can slide the volume on screen while your video plays I want the same thing with the brightness ..
I just use Jkay's deluxe settings. It integrates the settings in the notifications panel

What you want is display brightness ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rubberbigpepper.DisplayBrightness&hl=en ). It makes swiping your notification bar adjust brightness. Go through the settings to get it like you want. Hope that helps.

Can i add the S3 Alarm app? (o replace N4 stock)? as it's more functional & usable...
Hi, it's been over a month as i have replaced my S3 LTE with Note 4, and one thing i'm VERY unhappy with, is the changes they've made to the stock alarm app. Here are the changes i've noticed:
1) background is now white, which actually decreased visibility. i thought i would get used to it, but i can't.
2) fonts are now bigger and slimmer - also harder to focus.
3) alarms now DO NOT change background to let you know if it will be dark (or no) at that time (actually very useful feature)
4) stopwatch/timer - changed font, changed digits, i found the readability is worse now.
5) world time - no more flags, and i thought the readability was better in the previous version too.
6) next alarm is no longer shown in the lockscreen! this is a big problem (you don't see easily if it is set correctly or no).
another thing is that i really enjoyed the S3 app every moment i used it, and with the new version it's the opposite.
here are the screenshots to illustrate:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
my questions are:
is it possible to copy the S3 alarm app and use it as a primary one? (for stopwatch it's definitely more useful, and i use it frequently on bike trips)
is it possible to totally replace alarm with the previous version? (if i'm not mistaken, it also has a service running all the time, so just copying might not be enough)
any way to fix missing next alarm on the lock screen, without installing any 3rd party apps (which will decrease security)?
thanks!
Hello, I also chanced from S3 to Note 4, and I have replaced many of the samsung apps with stock android apps like: Clock. Calender, messages, calculator, keyboard etc......

Its stock android, Not samsung.
If you must have the one from S3, download stock S3 rom, inside app folder there is an app called clock.apk or something similar. You can try to install it on note 4, if it fails samsung must have put some copyright stuff on it.
