What does all this info have to do with getting Google Talk working? Surely it's irrelevant to the functionality of the app.

I don't know if in other pages he says something different, but i say only that the last release is R169 (the same here with the same release code...). i think that he cut-n-paste from xda
I have it runing but wifi, bluetooth, gps and mobile internet not working, and there is no sense 3.0, there is sense 2.1! This is very fast and beautifull version but hmm is not usable without wifi...
Here I packed our Gingerbread 2.3.3 Sense rom, got it runing, but bad news is: wifi, bluetooth, gps, mobile internet not working! This is beautifull rom, fast rom, camera app is very great... etc, but hmmm, maybe someone port it to 100% working. I not tested playing videos (maybe it working with Gingerbread?)

Another and easiest method:
Copy your apps (.apk) into /sdcard/androidapps/ folder and it's be installed during next bootup.

All of the available ROMs have the built in tethering hacked so that it works without any issues, all you do is hit the Mobile Hotspot and it starts right up.

Ok great , Im used to the old droid x days of the wifi tether app ,but I have a GNEX and it also has a built in tether which works. I was thinking because the free wifi tether was one of the most important app that android developed and also it get me into the Android rooting world.

So i was bored waiting for google assistant to pop up and just did this and it worked,so i'm sharing it with you!
Ps : it's working for me with stable 10.2.98 Google Play Services version and 6.13.25.21 Google App version, so please test and confirm.
1. Go to settings/apps/Google app/manage space/clear all data.
Go to settings/apps/Google Play Services/manage space/clear all data.
3. Go to settings/language and input/change default language to US English by dragging it to the top.
3.Reboot and press home button and your done!

Just skipped the last step since I use US English as default on daily basis

I managed to deodex the file but after installing the Magisk module it didn't seem to work. Has it worked for you?
What were you using it for? I used it for GPS and it worked fine

I tested it in Netflix. Taking screenshots. Mock GPS works fine but did you test it on Pokémon Go?
