My Note should arrive by the time I get home from work & I'll test it out myself & report back. I attached the email.apk file for everyone to test out.

Do you know the original author of this for the S2? Perhaps we can convince them to re-write this for the NOTE.
Download the below 2.3.5 version. It's working fine for me.

I assumed you tried the 2.3.5 version and it didn't work? Dang, I was going to upgrade my Note to 2.3.6 this weekend, but won't if this doesn't work.

Though it works but the fonts are too small which defeats the purpose of the 5.3" screen. I've been trying to edit the email.apk for the Note but apparently it is missing the classes.dex file, unlike the email.apk for the SGS2. I tried to put the classes.dex file into the Note email.apk but it won't run. Hope someone can help to solve this.

The thread name was something like "aosp style phone app" or something..just go through his threads ... I'm sure u will find it

The sliders in galaxy y's older firmware have the aosp sliders..if you could get me the phone.apk from older firmwares ill do it for you

You're right, I have a Phone.apk from an old Galaxy Y firmware, which of course doesn't work in my Galaxy Y.

Yeah, my rom is deodexed (running creed rom 3.5 if that matters)
the previous Phone.apk is from a non-rooted galaxy y running an old firmware, i guess that's why it didn't work 4 me.
I will test your modded apk and i hope it works, i will provide feedback ASAP.

The Phone.apk didn't work at all, network coverage went zero
I did everything correctly, I replaced the apk in /system/app and set the permissions to rw-r--r-- (using root explorer) and rebooted my device.
Did I miss something?

So i was bored waiting for google assistant to pop up and just did this and it worked,so i'm sharing it with you!
Ps : it's working for me with stable 10.2.98 Google Play Services version and 6.13.25.21 Google App version, so please test and confirm.
1. Go to settings/apps/Google app/manage space/clear all data.
Go to settings/apps/Google Play Services/manage space/clear all data.
3. Go to settings/language and input/change default language to US English by dragging it to the top.
3.Reboot and press home button and your done!
