Switching 4.3 FW countries... will it trigger Knox? - Galaxy Note II General

Hi i wouldblike to update to 4.3 but its not yet available for my country. Can I use for example the HK firmware and then later on flash my country FW when its released? Will it trip up Knox?

"knox will continue same" as in will not increase if flashing different region official 4.3 rom
has anyone tested this ?

Yes, Iflashed leak 4.3 MK4 then I flashed official stock hong kong. My counter knox is 0

Knox will only change when u modified ur system with something unsigned by samsung.
E.g : rooting, change kernel, change recovery, change rom.
Otherwise it will stay the same. Official rom as long as signed digitally by samsung knox counter won't change.

I think you can not change CSC after doing this. As for Europe some roms are multi-CSC and will default to a random one.
Please correct me if I am wrong, i hope that i am.
LE: I think we can root and change CSC via:
Root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2553647 will not trip KNOX
CSC change:
1) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manniakk.cscselector&hl=ro
2) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bas.sie.cscchange&hl=ro [PAID App]

According to the thread yes. But those test on note 3.
U can try if u want on ur risk. From the looks of it, it will work.

LE: Hong Kong 4.3 rom does not change CSC for COA (Romania - Carrier unlocked) so when the 4.3 COA rom will come out you can just flash over.
P.S the keyboard has English but i find it a little odd.

EDIT : Had to adjust the Title to Show 4.1.1 as it seems SamMobile is fooling us , on their site is showing 4.1.2 but actually they are 4.1.1

Still downloading, didn`t test yet.
Might be able to set up the shortcuts on lock screen by changing csc parameters

Sounds good! Hopefully they'll actually roll 4.1.2 out to all those countries they haven't updated since 4.0 too...
It's a mistake of Samsung
I've downloaded the one for China and find out it's a 4.1.1 ROM, not 4.1.2.
So it's a mistake of Samsung.

My settings show 4.1.1 after flashing the Taiwaneses firmware file. I haven't had any luck flashing the Chinese firmware.
yep,still 4.1.1,both of China & Taiwan
The taiwanese and Chinese are the one and same firmware check the info.
What firmware were you on before this and what region are you from.
The reason you are not getting the shortcut icons could be two your note is not from the Chinese region and you flash firmware for the Chinese version.
Your not is a chinese version but you have flashed rom from some other region and also have changed the CSC code.
Nothing for thailand.
Come on Samsung.
Can someone please let me know which region my Note 10.1 N8000 belongs to and whether there is any Jellybean update available for it so far? Screenshot of About screen attached.

-create mj6 rdlv
-Flash created Firmware
-do the sd Card part
?? some ppl said something about other files i had to Flash ??
pls confirm/correct me give newies a chance to get pros
sorry, but as I have written it, my CSC is part of the CSC from the stock BTU MJ6 (XEF) and i won't take the risk to play with other CSC even if it seems to can be done
Maybe someone who has unbranded his unit can help you
EDIT : and for the second part, yes use RDLV and add to the zip the boot, non-hlos, modem and hidden part from the stock MJ6 you will use

thank you, extract the files from the tar.md5 and put them wehre in Odin 3.09 ?
so i wait for mj6 DBT right? dont wanna f*ck anything up with CSCs
rename the *.tar.md5 made by RDLV to *.tar and, with 7-zip, open it and add the other parts from the stock firmware (firmware unzipped with 7-zip)
Has anyone heard anything from DG?
I've created a modified version of URDLV that supports the extra bits of newer firmwares and ideally would like his permission before I post it.
Does anyone know which Forum he's living in now?

Lol, I've added an extra option to accommodate the new firmware requiring the modem and HLOS.
So there is now 3 options.
Full (this is a new modified version)
System (was the old full)
CSC (unchanged).

[Q] Carrier doesn't release updates

Dear all,
first of all, sorry if this question is repeated, but I couldn't find a good answer by searching.
I bought a i9505 Galaxy S4 that came with a version of Android that has been modified by the carrier. There's a lot of bloatware and everything, but worse, they haven't even released the Android 4.3.
Can I install a "default" firmware of a i9505 Galaxy S4, in order to solve this problem? Clean, carrier free?
If yes, can someone post a guide on how to do this? I'm completely new to this subject, have no experience at all.
Thank you very much in advance!
Anyone?
This problem is really annoying me...
Another try...
Is it possible to just flash android again or do I need to root my phone?
I'm new to Android.

You can directly flash a rom from your country free of branch (fob) or unbranched (ub), their updates are faster than carrier ones. You don't need to root the phone to do this.

You can flash that rom, but not with kies... kies will only update your installed rom, it is, zvv firmware. You must flash zto rom by Odin 3.09. It is easy, just search the forum.

[Q] Rooting S4, without installing new ROM?

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to the rooting scene so please go easy on me if I sound a little stupid. I've done a bit of reading from time to time over the last few months and it seems like there are a lot of different opinions and theories about rooting to and from the official ROMs with Knox. I'm on the official 4.3 now so I've already got Knox installed.
I'm wondering if it's easy to simply root the phone so I can adjust some settings (Eg. turning the annoying shutter sound off on the camera), but not install any new ROM, without tripping the Knox flag? I don't want to lose any warranty and I want to be able to update OTA officially when new updates come out. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your help.
Not without voiding the Knox warranty, no. If that's important to you, forget about custom firmware.
