Hello. Since my stock nexus 4 updated to KitKat OTA Exchange services has been using up a huge amount of my battery. I use the standard email app and have 2 accounts, a hotmail account and my college email. If I set these email accounts to sync manually, my battery usage is exactly as expected, but when I re-enable push, the battery usage of Exchange Services comes to the top of the list very quickly, and Email works its way pretty far up the list as well. I use my phone quite a bit, so usual battery life for me is probably about 8 hours, but my email brings it down to just a few hours. Is this a common problem? Or is there any way to better diagnose the problem?
Thanks

Here's my battery graph for last 12 hours, it mostly are standby, Display only consumes 20 minutes.
Android version: 4.4.1, Exchange service and Stock Email (2nd and 3rd) are draining battery somehow.
Do you guys have any other battery graph to share?

Hey everybody,
For about a week or 2 i noticed that my calendar is really using a lot of cpu power and draining my battery.
Below you see a screen shot..
I don't use my calendar very much.. just sometimes.

that sample you see there is only for 1 minute 45 seconds, in that time the calendar could have synced, and used 60% of the total battery used during that 1 minute 45 seconds.
I expect if you check after being unplugged for a few hours the calendar will appear normal again.
If you want to look at more detailed battery stats enter *#*#4636#*#* into the dialer and goto battery history.
No, this is a real drain, I had the same thing.
This is what i did to help it:
- Go to calendar
-press the menu button when you are in calendar
-press more in the menu of calendar
-go to Calendars
- when there you see all kind of things like facebook pc sync hollidays, sync with your google account
Just deselect them al, and the problem is gone.
I had the same thing. To fix it I cleared the data for all calendar apps and widgets.
The four I cleared are called Calendar, Calendar Storage, Calendar Sync Adapter and Calendar Widget.
Try pressing menu and selecting sort by size, then again to go to sort a-z. This should refresh the list again in alphabetical order and group them all together.
This worked for me perfectly.
download another calendar then
Ok thanks everybody..
Will try it to see if this works for me..
Will post it when i have some results!
Success..!!!
I went to the applications settings menu and cleared everything that had the word calendar in it.
then reopened the calendar, it took a second to load and then worked again like normal.
and now its not showing up as a memory hog anymore!
Thanks for the help!
So i have gone through two days (and 1 night) with my samsung galaxy s2 android 2.3.2 by just freezing some programs with titanium plus.
This proves that most stuff is just bloatware eating away from my precious battery for no reason.
A few things on my phone consumption. I work 8 hrs a day in a place where my phone doesn't pick up my main phone company line (H3G) so for most of the time i'm on roaming and therefore not using 3G data so that does help but not by much really... I do however barely touch the phone (4-5 times to check if someone sms'd me in the morning and 1 call at midday + mail check and facebook for 10mins).
I also turn off data and wi-fi during the night.
When i get back home i leave wi-fi and skype always on from 18.00 to 24.00 and i've had the phone for 2 weeks or so therefore i'm using it a lot in those hours.
These are my results (with 14% battery left mind you):

So what apps did i freeze with titanium backup pro? Not that many tbh:
Allshare
AP Mobile
Buddies Now
IM
IMEITracker
KIES air
Kies via WI-Fi
KOBO
Mobile Tracker
Samsung Apps
SNS Disclaimer
SNSAccountFb
SNSAccountLi
SNSAccountMS

Software Update
Voice Commands
Wi-Fi Sharing
Wi-Fi Sharing manager
Zinio Reader
I would also like to say that i DO NOT use juicedefender.
Hope this helps someone.
Your Awake and Screen On bar is very well synchronized, so you will get good battery backup.
I get same kind of backup I guess, but that's with JD Ultimate, hadn't freeze a single stuff so far, and what's your Display On time? That matters
Screen on time is 1Hour58minutes51Seconds

Oops, is it? Then you must have made more than 2 hours of Voice Call, right? And a lot of SMS?
15mins voice calls 13mins skypecalls 37mins music battery app says.
Hmm, mine is 5 hours, with just 15 mins of Call and none of the above.
Anyway, GN.

This stat is useless if you don't tell us your total uptime and what apps are draining your phone.
That is correct. Mine is around 2 days, and I will post a screen tomorrow.
Regards.
Hi All
For the last week or so my S5 has been draining it's battery really quickly.
Having looked on GSam battery Monitor I can see that most of the usage is App Usage and of this the bulk of the usage is from Google Play Services. Looking deeper the culprit seems to be a wakelock from: *sync*/com.google.gms.auth.api.credentials/com/google/eM_ADDR

As you can see in the pictures in a mere 36 1/2 minutes it's thrown up 10,000 wakelock requests, which seems little (hugely) on the high side!!
I've tried googling this and not had much luck finding anything which might help.
One thing I have noticed is if I go into settings>Accounts when I go to my Google account, I get the name of the account and it shows that it's syncing but unlike usual when it syncs quickly, it remains saying syncing and basically hangs and none of the buttons or options etc react. I'm guessing this is at the root of the issue but I'm at a loss as to what I can do to sort it out.
Has anyone experienced this in the past or have any thoughts how I might fix the issue?
Additional info:
Model: SM-G900F
Android Version: 4.4.2
Kernel version: 3.4.0-2089850
Build Number: KOT49H-G900FXXU1ANG2
Oh and it's rooted.
I had a bit of a play yesterday evening and discovered that if I went into data usage and switched off autosync, then switched off wifi and mobile internet and the turned auto datasync back on, I could go into the account setting and actually get into the area for my google account and enable and disable syncing of various items (Drive, Docs, news, weather, gmail etc etc).
After a fair bit of testing of one item at a time, it seems the problem is with my gmail account (or at least it definitely occurs when I select for my gmail to sync). As soon I selected this and renabled my wifi, when I went into accounts and selected the google account it constantly showed as syncing, at no point saying "last synced" as it had with some of the others I tried.
Obviously I want it to be syncing my gmail so I get emails without having to manually check my emails all the time. I've had a bit of a search about but not managed to find anything much (or at least anything much that is less than about 3 years old!) Has anyone else had this issue and fixed it?
Hello everyone.
I have a irritating problem with battery drain. Google play services use a more than 50% of battery usage, I have to charge few 2 times a day while I'm using phone normally (sometimes browsing Internet, sometimes browsing Facebook, no using GPS) and the battery lasts maximum 6 hours from 100% to 10%.
I don't know how to decrease this usage to minimum. Uninstalling Google play services makes it better, but android without it is useless.

How it can be 50% for you? All the apps together is only 3% for me (hard gaming, mobile legends bb, minecraft, gta sa, real racing etc)

Disable location services or set it i.eLocation services to device only mode.....Thumbs up if it worked
Check that you don't have emojis on your whatsapp name. For me, it was causing some background sync errors and caused huge battery drain

I will check with my friend next time...that's extremely odd but intriguing bug!
My friend is on holiday with the phone for a week, I might have to resort to a factory reset. To be fair, it hasn't had a wipe since upgrading from Lollipop to MM so it is overdue one.
I just flashed to the newest rom and now it's OK.
I don't know what caused this usage but it was annoying. After flash and clear all storages everything is good now.
Today was the first day in the one week I've had my oneplus 6t that I've had high google play services battery drain. It is at 11%
Has anyone experienced this, and what could have caused this?
My battery life wasn't that good today
Yes, same here today only, never noticed before. I kept wondering if I installed some app or may be some beta app sign up.

Could be one of these several updates from Google too, may be Google app? I am beta too.
Getting it here too, 20% when other apps are like 2-3%s. It must be a service issue then.
+1. Not as high as you guys but it definitely higher than normal.

This happens with all phones, even the Pixels. Update all your apps then clear the google services data. Reboot and usage should be about normal now.
Are you sure? That would reset all accounts and other info.
I tried Files by Google to clean up system files and that seems to clear it for now.

I remember reading something about this last week. I have the newest app don't see any issues...yet.
This has started happening to me now, first couple of days it was fine then it kicked in. The battery stats say it's running when in active use for 2hrs 2 mins but my screen on time is only 1hr 50 so I'd don't really understand that?
I had high Google Play Services drain too (about 12%). Turning off wifi and bluetooth scanning in Settings -> Google -> Location -> Scanning. Also disabled "Improved Location" under Google Location Accuracy in that same Location page. It brought my standby drain from 2% an hour to 0.5%. Google Maps is still fast as ever at locking my location.
