[Q] TMo LG G2 help - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After messing around with my phone and hoping to gain more storage space, I formatted my internal drive(via TWRP) without thinking of the consequences.
Background: my phone was rooted with TWRP v2.6.3.2 for recovery.
Now my phone is stuck on bootloop with the LG logo on the display. I connected the phone to a PC laptop and it's not being detected for obvious reasons. I am unable to enter download mode but can get to TWRP recovery. I tried method 2 here since I don't have ADB access, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696 but no joy.
Where do I go from here? TIA.

Since you can still access your recovery, try flashing a new ROM. I don't know why you're unable to get to download mode. If due to a miracle you're able to get to download mode, follow these steps to restore to factory settings.

Best of luck

For download mode hold just volume up, then plug the cable in.

Boot loop and recover stock ROM

Hello.
Recently I installed this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389394
...and I stuck on boot loop.
So angry of this stuff, however there should be a way,how to wipe data using recovery.
Actually I did the full wipe, but no luck. Boot loop is still present.
What's worse,I am not able 99% of time to enter recovery. Is there a way,how to SURE enter recovery? I hold buttons as I can,1% of attempts I am luckily entered there.
Another thing: If full wipe doesn't help,is there a way to reformat stock ROM or do I need some custom ROM to install?
Thanks.
anyone!!!
I have same issue. Need to install stock rom and adb not recognized. Wish there was some way to recover data too as I had some pics on there (yes I'm an idiot for not backing those up)
Hi.
I was using RR v22 and decided to flash stock kk2 rom via Odin.
It was all right but now my phone keep boot looping.
I can enter download mode.
What should I do?
Thx.

I tried home + vol. up + power to enter recovery mode and it worked (couldnt do it earlier)...
Then I full wiped and now I have my Note back!
Thx anyway!
last resort method.
enter download mode. (remove battery - use the 3 button combo vol down, home, power - reinsert battery) (easier if you have usb jig)
use pc-odin to flash stock rom.

Flashing Recovery Post Hard Brick

Hey,
I hard bricked my phone, the one where you connect to the PC 15 or so drives open up (no download mode, no recovery and no fastboot) and then managed to fix it (VIA SRK Tool which flashed a stock recovery instead of a custom one) and got download mode back.
KDZ Method isn't working, it keeps saying I need to restart my device 2%.
So is there any way of flashing the TWRP recovery through the download mode or at the very least any way to extract my data (only a few folders) through the download mode?
I don't know why but no one seems to notice this thread
Thanks a lot, any help will be much appreciated.
PS: Please ask if any further information is required
(I have a D801, I can get to download mode, factory reset screen and LG logo which then leads to the "Security error" coz there is no firmware in the phone.)

LGv20 not booting into Bootloader H918

Hi,
I have a H918 its not booting into download mode it just reboot continuously
I can get into to fastboot but not download mode no matter how many times i have tried this it doesnt work, i used a different battery.
From fastboot mode i tried flashing the recovery img i get an error saying remote unknown
Please suggest if there is a way to fix this phone any help would be much appreciated.
Fastboot IS bootloader...
i mean download mode not bootloader sorry for the confusion
With your device powered off, hold vol up and then plug it into a computer. That should bring up download mode
i tried but it shows download mode briefly for few seconds then it tries to reboot and repeatedly reboots i have done a factory reset but nothing really works
It can only boot into fastboot mode nothing else, after factory reset it will get stuck on the LG logo and will not boot
Bump
You flashed a modified boot, laf or recovery without unlocking your bootloader. You can TRY doing a fastboot oem unlock while in the bootloader, but if it fails, there is nothing you can do to fix your phone.
-- Brian
My bootloader was always unlocked, I can lock the unlock and lock the bootloader but cant boot into the download mode.. looks like i bricked my device for good
Try grabbing system img and flashing via fastboot, or about img

Huawei Y5 MYA-L22, NO ROOM, NO STOCK RECOVERY, FRP LOCKED

So I tried to unlock the bootloader of this phone and installed TWRP recovery and I did but then when I opened the phone I found no IMEI for the both SIM cards, anyway I thought it's a simple Rom reinstall problem, so at first it would sometimes boot into Stock recovery and sometime TWRP recovery, when it booted into TWRP Recovery I wiped everything accidentally and now the phone is Romless with a TWRP recovery only. I tried to flash Many custom roms and after flashing it just says no OS and boots into recovery again. the phone is like a rock
In Conclusion:
1. There's no OS
2. Only TWRP recovery
3. I can't flash stock recovery because OEM unlock is not enabled and in order to enable it I have to go to Developer options which I don't even have an OS to do this
4. I need stock Recovery to apply the update.app method
I need anyhelp to get the OS or Rom installed again even if it's custom ROM! I just want it to boot up!
UPDATE: I broke the TWRP recovery too! now it just boots on the Huawei logo for like 0.1 second and restarts and Huawei logo again and it keeps doing this, I can't acess anyhting

Hello,
Sorry for your phone,
You should use SP flash tool to recover it, you need to download a full ROM for this phone and then flash it to the phone,
You should find the tools via google easily!
Good luck
I think the imei problem will still exist, when you recover the phone, then I may guide you to overcome the imei problem..
---------- Post added at 05:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:56 PM ----------
BTW if you plug the USB you will get into default emergency recovery,, else you will get into TWRP

Unable to root (SM-T377W) with Odin3 or ..

Hi,
I have Samsung Tab E 8.0 (SM-T377W) and I can not root it in these ways!
1. I download SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-20171001224502.zip and copy in my tablet memory but when I go through the Android recovery menu and then select apply update from SD card, it errored me:
E: failed to find /misc partition
2. I could not install TeamWin because when I flash the TeamWin on it by Odin3, the Odin notify Fail.
3. Also, The applications of Towelroot and kingroot could not root my device too.
How can I root this Tablet?
Thanks.
Also, the Error [E: failed to find /misc partition] notify me every time I want to work with the Android Recovery menu items!(ex. when I want to clear cache or factory reset or ...)

i also have this exact model of tablet and ive been trying to install twrp so i can root but no avail. ive tried using a few methods to root like kingroot, kingoroot and framaroot and several others which have all failed. I have latest samsung and adb drivers installed. when trying to flash twrp to tablet it successfully flashes but i dont know when to boot into recovery mode. several different rooting guides(sm-t377w rooting guides) for this model have mentioned booting into recovery mode but all specified different times to hold the buttons down such as booting into recovery mode right before the end of flashing with auto-reboot selected or fully powering off without auto-reboot selected then pressing power, home and volume down then power, home and volume up as soon as "a blank screen" is seen. also get a "no command" screen right it goes into stock recovery when not flashing but idk if thats important. i just want to install twrp so i begin working on a root or find another method to root this tablet so i can remove bloatware and look into possible overclocking. anything that will free up resources so i will have less lag when i use it. any help is greatly appreciated. after a full week of attempting and fixing one brick im beginning to give u hope.

You cannot use the stock recovery to flash anything except stock roms or updates to stock roms.
Follow these instructions to get started. I copied these from y2k-inc if you want to thank him.
Easily done if you follow the rooting guide for the 6.0.1 ... anyway, here's how.
Download Odin (version 10.12.x) and then download TWRP into the same folder:
https://dl.twrp.me/gteslte/twrp-3.2....e.img.tar.html
Now donwload Super User: https://download.chainfire.eu/1220/S...etrieve_file=1
Run Odin (preferred in Admin mode) and load : twrp-3.2.0-0-gteslte.img.tar into the AP.
Put your Tablet into Download mode (Vol Down + Home + Power and then Vol Up), connect to your PC and Hit Start on Odin.
Wait for it to fully reboot and Power it Off, now reboot into Recovery mode (Vol Up + Home + Power), once in TWRP, copy Super User file into the Download folder of your Tablet, select Install from TWRP and install Super User. Reboot and enjoy Root
You can also flash after market roms in TWRP.
If you are on a later ROM (Android 9 or 10) you will be better off rooting with Magisk.
If you need help with any of this, do a detailed google search for it and select the XDA link for your best info.
