Hi, so the issue is my note 3 is stuck in a wierd loop.
N900A un rooted un flashed or anything. stock firmware straight from AT&A. no SD card.
ive been using it for about 3-4 days with no issues at all. today it suddenly turned off. i tried turning it on but it wont load up. i tried using the recovery mode to wipe evertyhing and start fresh. i cant do anything! the phone freezes after about 3-5 sec. i needed about 20 restarts just to get past the configuration menu when you start up your phone for the first time (had to do it in 2-3 sec). now my phone does load to the opening screen but will get stuck and restart after a couple of sec. i even managed to put airplane mode on but still no luck
sometimes i will get a random "XXX has stopped" error.
please help me i have no idea what to do that is my first android phone.
i attached a short film of what happens (youtube):

take it back to AT&T for a replacement. in 3-4 days of actually obtaining the device it should NOT be doing what you have described if the device is completely stock, unrooted, etc etc. Show them what it is doing, get a little pissed off and you should get a new phone

im not in the states any more... i got relocated and i bought the phone to take with me
i see... that complicates it a bit now
you could attempt to root it and install a custom recovery and try flashing a different rom for your phone?
or
i guess you could always flash a newer firmware for your device?

KIES wont recognize the device. i can only get it to work when in "odin" mode and even then all i can do is emergency recovery and no regular access to the phone.

You could use kies to do an emergency recovery. It's in one of the options. You just need to put the model number and serial number in and connect it in download mode. It gives full instructions as you do it.

I tried below but my phone is struck at intital logo Samsung galaxy S4 screen its not turning on.
Install and run Chainfire's TRIANGLE AWAY (I9505 ONLY, I9500 is NOT SUPPORTED YET)
NOTE: There is an option "System modified workaround", please tick this and restart your phone. Device Status should be back to OFFICIAL!! Use it with caution!!
Next few steps are ONLY for people who couldn't reset it with Triangle Away...
1. Reboot into Download Mode and check if Binary & System are OFFICIAL.
2. Only if the BINARY Status is still Custom, download and extract OFFICIAL STATUS MOD(.tar.md5): GT-I9500 or GT-I9505 - open in Odin as PDA (password: djembey2013)
3. In some cases FACTORY DATA RESET (Phone Settings=>Accounts=>Backup & reset =>Factory Data Reset) is required to reset Device Status.
You probably just need to do a factory reset. If the Odin flash was successful, simply boot into recovery (volume up+home+power) delete user data. reboot.
not working
still struck on samething no progress after logo
need serious help
my phone is not working need urgent help
Why do you start messing with your phone when you have no idea what you are doing? Thats just dumb.
What are you doing with Triangle Away? Do you have any idea what it does?

Download Samsung Kies,
Go to tools and click firmware upgrade and initialization
If you have 9505 type in Model: GT-I9505 If you have 9500 type in Model: GT-9500
Now it will ask your S/N Number. If you cannot boot to android then pull out the battery and there must be S/N Number (NOT Battery S/N)
If you can boot to android, then go to Settings, touch more then scroll down find and touch about device, then touch status, scroll down and see the serial number
type it in Kies
Then follow instruction from kies
you must boot to download mode first (you can do this with: turn off the device then press Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button and then if you release it and press volume up to continue it)
not working
When i tried got error saying GT-I9505 does not support intializing

Kies won't work because you have a custom rom installed.
Why dont you just flash a custom rom in the recovery?
1. Do a factory reset in recovery. Wipe system/data/cache.
2. Flash a custom rom.
3. Boot.
It's as simple as that.
Or do you want to flash a stock rom? If so, make sure you flash a knox disabled stock rom.

I'm sure you can get it running with odin. Download Odin ver 3.07. Download the stock mh6 firmware from sammobile.com. it's a zip file. Use 7-zip to extract the .tar.md5 file from it. Use that file in odin, PDA slot. Only have auto-reboot checked in Odin.
i used the exe og legija to recover my i9505 so i can boot in download mode but
when i install an official firmware with pit thru odin after the flash is pass success the i9505 is dead again ...
any idea?? In the phone when start flashing is appear 3 lines in red saying:
START [240,1440]
BAR [240,1440]
END [240,1440]
any help plz thx

We need to know exactly what you've done to the phone in the order you've done it - firmware which was originally on the phone, any OTA updates, exactly what you flashed/in what order, what happened to the phone that made you need to Odin flash it.
Little details will be important so far as getting your phone up & running as soon as possible goes, I.E the less details you give the longer it's going to take for that to happen

Then i download from sammobile a stock rom of vodafone and the pit file for the S4 i9505, i flash it with pit and the stock official rom of the terminal (re-partition mark,f.reset time mark, and autoreebot mark). Odin end and say pass. but when i try to power on the phone go again into a brick (phone, can't no enter in recovery and can't enter in download mode, also the phone no power on). i use odin 3.07 , 3.09 and 1.85 i got this versions and i try some configurations like unmark re-partition,and unmark autoreboot with the same problem. (He turn un qualcome mode). i also try to install a new recovery and the same syntoms. also when i flash any thing the phone goes to the same status all ok but no power on, no recovery and no download mode.
any ideas???

Which Tab4 do you have? Tmobile? If so I have a zip file you can use to odin back to stock. I had the same thing happen to me when I tried to root. Once it gets to that point, kies doesn't seem to function. But odin still recognizes the device. I have an SM-T337T. Let me know.
Could you post the link of the rooting method site please?

Only think i've found for that firmware is a UK version. Not quite sure why there isn't a US version readily available. Anyhow, You can download it from here. The version from June might be able to be rooted using towelroot. But the May version definately can be rooted using that method. Here is the link Hope it helps.

So i wanted to root my phone, following a tutorial on androidsoul(i cant post link yet i just googled edge plus root)
after like 20 tries to flash with odin it finally passes(dunno why. nothing changed the last 5 tries... and odin tooks about 1h for the flash..)
finally their i decided to add some lines in the build.prop to tweak the ram management -.-
so heres where the **** begins. The device bootlooped, so i downloaded the firmware for my device nummer with the vodafone branding and tried to flash it.
it fails and the phone gets some kind of bricket i get a message i need to emergency firmware recovery with some kind of samsung crap software, which doesnt support my device(neither kies 3).
good thing i can still enter the download mode but when i try to flash, odin stucks at setupconnection or iniialazion or get pit mapping or sboot.bin or cm.bin in this momen at boot.img .. just somewhere everytime.
I already deleted kies and tried all my ports.
any ideas??

I would be tempted to take it back to where you got it and ask them to replace it... its up to you if you say it was because you were trying to root it or not...
If it t'were me I would blame an Update or App Corruption - though I am a gifted linguist (read: Bull****ter) and can normally get things sorted, your average shop employee wont know enough about rooting (hopefully) or KNOX (hopefully) so they will just replace it.
But thats not a Guarantee (as with all changes you make its your device and your responsibility if it goes wrong, warranty void etc etc etc)
I'm hopeful you are able to get this sorted and keep us posted if its replaced etc
Hello everyone
Please bear me with me for I am a dinosaur that grew up with Symbian phones, then was forced to use Windows phones and now recently converted to Android, therefore not an expert in this field.
Bought the Note 4 off ebay in UK. Mobile banking app and Android Pay say my phone is rooted however Root Checker says it isn't . I have tried to update to Marshmallow through ODIN but I get the FAIL Auth error every time I try...
In settings the phone shows up as N910F however it is a N910V ... I do need help to figure out the precise model though just to make sure I am installing the correct software.
Also, I am using a Lebara SIM card (partners with Vodafone) here in UK, not sure if that matters.
Would really appreciate if someone would have the patience to guide me how to install Marshmallow on my phone, I just want a clean one and no rooting. Tried different tutorials on the internet but none worked for me or I am surely doing something wrong.
Many thanks in advance!

Hi Andy I'm also in the UK with note 4. To find out the correct model you need to boot to download mode. Power off the phone, Hold volume down + home + power together. It will boot to download mode and from there it will show you the model.

Ahh you have the verizon varient.
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/117781/N910VVRS2CPL1_N910VVZW2CPL1_VZW/
Here is the stock marshmallow firmware for your device.
Download and unzip the firmware. Place it in odin in AP. In odin options enable auto reboot and uncheck repartition. Put phone in download mode, connect to pc and start.
Thanks for the firmware , that worked like a charm. Is it possible to install a non-Verizon version on this phone? One that does not have the Verizon preloaded apps?
Also, do you know anything about the Note 4 getting the Nougat update?

You can only flash firmware for your device which is N910V. Which means unfortunately you can only flash verizon firmware. However you can root your phone and use titanium backup to remove the bloat.
As for the N update I have read and heard rumours that we will get it but I don't have my hopes up. Even though the Note 4 is 2 years old it's still a high end device. It hasn't been officially announced yet. Only been announced for s6/s7 and future releases

1st download the firmware.
Download odin, latest version is fine but I use v3.10.6
On phone settings go to about device, tap build number 7 times until developer options is there, go on developer options and enable USB debugging.
Plug phone to pc to make sure drivers are up to date.
Once firmware is downloaded unzip it.
Power off phone and put into download mode, vol down + home + power.
Open odin and click AP, insert the firmware. Odin options should be, re partition UNCHECKED, auto reboot checked, f reset time checked.
Plug phone into pc, in odin log it will say added with blue box saying com:3 or similar.
Press start and it will flash and reboot. The first boot can loop a few times or hang on the Samsung logo for a little while it's normal.
If it hangs for more than 15 minutes remove the battery for a few minutes then power on again and it will boot.
If you get any errors or are unsure let me know.
