[Q] Kangakat 4.4 - network issue - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hi,
my network is not working after I flash Kangakat. I have to search multiple times network manually. IF I happen to be connected, as soon as I start a call, I get disconnected.
I run an i337M and I did flash the fix after flashing the rom. Temporary flashed Gummyrom.
Any ideas?
PS: I have been flashing rom for 3-4 years. I followed the steps to flash. No dirty flash.

Bump!
Now I am connected on the network. Issue I have is when I make a call, the phone shows that I lost the signal but I'm still on the call. And after the call ends, it takes couple of minutes to be on the data network. Any idea

Issue resolved
Download and flashed last modem for i337 through ODIN.
Modem can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542043
Big thanks to Danvdh!

[Q] I flash a rom now I can not make or receive calls

I recently try to flash golden eye (tmobile) rom to my samsung galaxy s4.
I used this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2363523
however once i finish flashing the rom I realize my internet connection kept dropping so I try calling tmobile to make sure if that area had coverage. Well there came another problem...I could not make calls not even to customer service. Then my brother told me he was calling me and it kept going to voicemail.
So I used clockwork mod recovery to install goldeneye.
After this issue I used odin to install the stock firmware and then I re rooted the phone to install triangle away and delete my counter and repeated the process by using odin to install stock firmware to unroot my phone.
And I am still having the problem of not being able to make or receive calls and worse my internet connection drops. :crying::crying::crying::crying:
How can I fix this problem the phone load regular just my connections to my network is not there

[Q] Phone keeps droping signal - can't make calls - have to reboot to get signal

New problem here - this has been happening for about 3 weeks now.
I have i337 on AT&T rooted running NB1 Baseband and Danvdh's GPE rom
For the last 3 weeks my phone reception has been dropping out completely and I have to reboot the get signal. I can not make or receive calls and switching to Airplane mode and back does not help... I have to reboot to be able to make phone calls again.
I have tried all the new 4.3 and 4.4 modems and have switched back and forth between Danvdh and iB4StiD's GPE - I was running iB4STiD's rom for the last 6 months with zero problems...
I have checked my APN and all the information is correct when I am connected to a network .
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I switched to a touchwiz ROM and noticed that the phone says Sim can not be detected and requires a reboot to re recognize Sim card... I have replaced the Sim card today and same issue persists... Any help?

[Q] i9505 LTE modem flash issue

Hi all,
I've had my phone locked on Tele2 (CRO) network which I needed to unlock to be able to use T-mobile SIM. I've used Odin 3.04 and followed the instructions to update modem to I9505XXUFNB9. I've managed to unlock the network this way and use my new SIM but the connection (both phone and mobile data) kept switching on and off constantly.
After that I've tried another firmware, namely I9505XXUFNDG for T-mobile but the problem now is that mobile is almost always off with no possiblity to connect and WiFi is blocked completely (security notification "Your device's security has blocked an action").
Basebands registered properly after every flash.
Phone is not rooted and me not being a power user would just love it to work as it was intended to
Followed the guide, all firmwares downloaded from here
Appreciate any help.
Might be onto something. After reading through this post seems I need to apply WiFi fix but I cannot tell which one to use for my phone (I9505XXUFNDG) as it's not posted. Kernel version 3.4.0-481100.
I've tried I9505_WiFi_FIX_MDM.tar and I9505_WiFi_FIX_MDF.tar but they just messed up the phone completely.
Thx a lot.

Hi ,
you should flash the fix for the modem you have installed , try following:
Flash another modem from the list there
Now flash the modem wifi fix for that modem
If still in trouble re flash stock and start all over again.....

Thx, did just that and now it works properly.
Much obliged.
a problem started to show recently; when i select LTE/WCDMA/GSM for auto connect network mode when the mode switches due to signal availability it doesn't get reconnected. i.e. while under LTE it works fine but if i move and get out of reach it should automatically switch to slower network which it doesn't. this works fine if i select WCDMA/GSM then the switches are fine but LTE is not available under this.
one more thing i noticed since i'+ve flashed the phone is that the upper part of the phone gets very very hot (a lot more than before). since the flash i've also had to replace a microSD card which died within weeks (not necessarily connected but worth noting).
any suggestions welcome.

Data connection and Blank screen during calls for I9505

I flashed the SlimKat version 9 of 4.4.4 on my Samsung Galaxy S4 (I9505), but since then whenever I make or receive a phone call, the screen goes blank and becomes inaccessible.
That prevents me from hanging up or doing anything else with the phone. I have to wait a good 10-15 seconds after the call is closed in order to access my phone back again.
The second issue I have noticed is that the data connection, 3G and LTE, gets disconnected when the phone is locked and unlocked quick enough.
How do I resolve this issue?
I have tried factory reset => re-flashing the ROM but it does not work.
Please help!
Are you on the latest bootloader + modem?

Nope. Where can I get it?
My Baseband is I9505XXUBMG4
Is there a reason that you are still on the 4.2.2 bootloader?
You can do two things:
A.
Read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50787570&postcount=2549
then pick a modem +wififixx from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50965837&postcount=2627
Pick a 4.4.2 modem (maybe you can also pick a lollipop modem but i'm not sure.. You have to look for it. Just paste the part in google and it will tell you what version it is (eg I9505XXUBMG4 = 4.2.2)
B.
Flash a kitkat/lollipop stock rom.

I flashed the I9505XXUGNE5 modem which is 4.4.2 as per the thread you mentioned above and the data connection issue is resolved.
BUT ... now I can't make phone calls ... I call someone or someone calls me, the whole screen goes blank and the person cannot hear me nor I can hear them.
I tried reflashing the modem again but it did not fix the issue.

[UPDATE]
I flashed the bootloader too and managed to get the sound back. so now data connection works great, phone calls work but the screen still goes blank when I call or receive a call ... lols
So it's pretty much the same issue but with the upgraded firmware version.

The easiest solution is to just flash the latest Lollipop firmware. Then you have everything up-to-date and matching bootloader + modem.

Out of Service Network most of the time after flashing custom ROM

I hope I am posting in the right section.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (I9505) and it was crashing on the stock ROM so I flashed the Imperium LL Rom v11.0. The problem I am having is my phone reporting no network signal or "Out of service". But not always. After a reboot I usually have network signal. After locking and unlocking the phone I never have. The signal usually comes within a few minutes. When my phone is reporting "Out of service" I cannot make calls but I can still receive calls. And after the received call has terminated I can still not make calls. After a few minutes the network signal icon comes and I can make calls. Until I lock my phone because it gets lost everytime.
Some info:
1. I was on a rooted Stock 4.2.2 before I flashed the Imperium LL Rom.
2. The IMEI seems to have changed. I never took note of it before flashing, so it might have always been different but the IMEI reported by the phone is different from the IMEI on the sticker underneath the phone battery. I tried the Xposed IMEI changer but the problem still happens so this may be unrelated.
3. While searching I found it could be an invalid Modem driver. In the settings the Baseband version is I9505XXUBMEA so I tried flashing the driver for that version using ODIN. No change.
4. I tried via Recovery to flash Slim80 Kernel Cleaning Script v1.9 and then the Imperium Kernel v3.3 but no change.
I did a factory wipe before flashing the firmware.
Any help or suggestions please?
Thanks!
I have actually solved this. What I had tried before was flashing the modem with the same Baseband I had previously ie: I9505XXUBMEA thinking that there were specific versions which needed specific drivers. Upon reading more I found out that newer versions of the modem should be installed and that XX was a carrier code and the last 2 letters are how recent the driver is. So I tried the latest modem (XXUHOE2) I could find similar to the Imperium Build which is XXUHOJ2 and it seems to be working. My phone retains the network signal when put to sleep.
The fact the IMEI changed is weird and I don't know if it makes a difference. Maybe it was always like this..but it is strange that it is different to the one on the sticker. The format is correct because only the last 4 digits differ.
Anyway I hope this info helps someone with similar problems.
How can I mark the title for this as [Solved]? I can't find any way.
