CPU Spy+ to check CPU usage.
Wakelock Detector and BetterBatteryStats to check what exactly is possibly using the CPU and heating up the phone.
*#0228# in dialer for quick temperature check

battery draining issue

I bought a new I9505 for my girlfriend. it seems to have very serious battery draining problem. a standard over night standby, doing nothing, wifi connected, battery would drain 30~50%. I tried many different roms and kenrnels, they all work the same way. I also tried deleting batterystatus information file, still no luck. could anybody tell me what's going on with the i9505?
here are some screendhots of the battery usage.

Nope, can't tell you why. Get better battery stats and figure out what's keeping your phone awake and using the battery.
It'll be an app she has installed. You have to find out which one through process of elimination

I found an app called alarmmanager woke the system around 200times in roughly 4hrs. is this the reason? if it's built in system, how do I delete it?

What is going on with my system and google?

Android system and Google are eating my battery alive! Screen on time is about 11m and battery is at 84% with a little over 3hrs since discharge.
See screen shot..
Most of my posts are about my battery, sorry for that.. But thanks all at XDA for always helping with my amateur questions! ?

Do you have Google now enabled? If so, disable it. Also if you go into task manager and push the menu button and go to settings, you can stop any services from running. That helped me. Just stop Google services. Also at only 84%, android system usually is at the top of the list. If you look at android system there is a ton of things bundled in there. I'd wait until your batter is discharged a bit more and then check your battery stats. But try the settings in task manager, helped my battery a lot

I enjoy google now though... a week ago it was not doing this. Thanks for the topic will try it.

Battery charging

Why is my phone (sm-n900) charging itself ? Can anyone explain ? I have stock rootrd rom, please answer this question

It's not charging itself.
The battery is just calibrating. The graph is not an accurate depiction of what is actually happening with the battery, but merely an estimation. Therefore when it feels it's "guessed" wrong it'll change.

To check whether your phone is charging or not, you can use my app Phone INFO ★Samsung★ >> USAGE HISTORY >> Charger Connect Counter and check if this counter increases...
No issues with the phone. Nothing that you should worry about. No need to do battery calibration either, as it is completely normal.
When you use phone actively, it consumes large amount of battery. Phone uses consuming data to show the battery percentage, however when you stop the "heavy usage", phone is then re-configuring itself to show the real battery percentage. Happens on pretty much all devices.
Thank you guys !
