I have noticed download speeds way quicker on 4G rather than my Wifi at home. I downloaded Hyperdrive RLS3 last night after i got off work, as i was driving home i noticed how fast it was downloading it took it about 20 mins to download a 1.2gb file. On the other hand when i try to download files that large on my wifi at home it takes hours, Is there somthing i can do to fix this i thought it might be a slow SD card but i dont think thats the case considering how fast its downloading on 4g. If there is a fix will someone please post. Thanks and

He made that comment because your thread title is mispelled. It says "wife" instead of "wifi"
You can download a speed test app to verify your speeds.
4G is definitely faster than my home wifi.
Your wife is faster than mine, Lucky guy.
Multiple factors involved in your home internet. Probably doesn't belong in this forum but I'll answer for your reference.
If you're using DSL, (AT&T) that's your problem. Acquire a faster service
Assuming you're using a cable modem service (Comcast, TimeWarner, Cox cable, etc) Check if your service is DOCSIS 3.0 compliant. If so, make sure you have a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem. You can buy one yourself or get one from your provider.
Next step, Ensure you have an updated wireless router that has 1GB NIC ports. (Apple airport Extreme or Netgear R6300v2 AC-1750, come to mind) If you have a 10 year old Linksys G router, that's a bottle neck
3rd step ensure your service is set to higher download speed. For example Comcast has "Blast" option which allows an advertised 30MB Download speeds.
Another ISP is Verizon FIOS if it's available in your area.
I'm guessing your ISP or current equipment is your home internet speed issue. Hope this info was helpful.

This wouldn't have worked for you anyway, this is for the 4g not the 3g. 3g is not out yet, you are probably better off with the downgrade to wifi and the update to ics, the wifi updates happen quicker, how did you do it?

As for the 4G update, so far, so good. I updated and it seems snappier, also 4G reception in my house seems better. Not sure if it's placebo effect or not. I guess time will tell. There are new CDMA and LTE radios included and no bootloader update. This has been a LONG time coming!

See my reply in the "manual update" thread for this patch. I have it installed on my Xoom without using a USB cable. You follow the previously mentioned method but instead use a custom recovery to update.
I attempted an update, but I got an error with the zip file. Can someone post a verified MD5 checksum? Thanks!

Did 4.3 update using OTA and re-rooted. Running stock rooted and stock kernel.
Ever since the upgrade my wifi speeds are terrible compared to the rest of the devices on my network. This is new to the 4.3 update as last night before I updated my N10 speed tests matched my phone speed tests.
This is frustrating as I have tried everything I can think of and it never changes the wifi speed. It makes using my N10 as I have all along and as I intended useless.
Any ideas on what could have changed to cause this issue?

Nevermind! My speedtest app was set to a server on the other side of the country for some reason. Changed it to the local server and speeds are where they should be.
Mods feel free to delete. Sorry for the misleading post. My mistake on not checking the server location although I don't know how it got changed.
All is well in 4.3 land again.

Very nice. Sincere thanks. I was getting worried. Now, i can be patiently and wait for roms for the 720t. That app and Xposed is satisfying me huge. Root worked fine for MK5. Philz worked fine. Works well, and fast. This is probablly the only reason why i would want to keep Spark. I can clearly see a different in speeds vs. my wifes S3 also running 4G LTE. (not spark)

I had my first taste of spark near Nashville last night, 45 down, 15 up! Blown away! I am ok with a rooted, stock system. I have tether!
i've been working on this tether thing all morning. i've read tons and have followed every thread. i have sprint galaxy s4 4.4.2 NAF. it's rooted, and i downloaded the wifi tether router app that was recommended. everything is installed. when i run the app (enable router) i get the network name: WiFiTeher-AP and network key: abc123456 in red. there's a dialogue box at the bottom for received and sent data- both read 0mb. i have two computers with wireless receivers and the tether network doesn't appear on either. i've refreshed and waited, but to no avail. everything looks like it's working correctly, but i can't get the tether network to come up on my network list. so, where do i go from here?

Wow...that's pretty decent.
I got this speed in Millbrae, CA too bad I live in Hayward, CA.
But the Wi-Fi sucks. I have a 150/150 connection and can't get 20 down, upload is between 60-80.

Wifi seems good to me. no problems connecting via 802.11ac @ 866 Mbps.

Now, only if the rest of us could get Google Fiber. The reason for my question, is that many things can be done after rooting, and one of those things may have caused it to tank. Freezing apps, deleting files, changing permissions, you know, the usual stuff you can do after rooting. It was asked poorly, but that's what was meant. :cyclops:

Ah ok, thanks for the clarification. You had me worried for a second. I had rooted my damn phone before I even checked the internet speed with spark.
Everybody deserves Google Fiber. it's ridiculous. A year from now I'll probably have a petabyte of storage space at home because of all the crap I download.

I tested before and after. The WiFi sucks on both N and AC.
My phone was rooted and I used my phone to tether to my laptop to take the speed test.

Wifi works great on this phone. It's your router.
I love that you assume it's my router. WiFi on my other devices is phenomenal and my router is an ASUS RT‑AC68U. It's not my router or any settings, it's the phone. I'm planning on taking my Note back to stock to have a fresh start and seeing if anything changes.

Try to change your router channel. I have the ac66u and it maxes out my connection of 60/60 anywhere in my house.
Hi, so today I have installed CM12.1 unofficial on my S5. I loved the rom, everything was perfect but I couldn't get LTE working. My Note 4 (N910c) gets 2 bars of indication in the same room, speed is 20mbs+. When I launch mobile data on S5, it takes long to estabilish connection, then only gets H+, and after several seconds it drops to 3G What can I do? CM is blazing fast compared to stock ROMs, but I can't imagine myself using 3G to YT/web etc... Help please! I have the newest modem/bl (BOC7).
I'm sure you've already checked your APN settings to be what your carrier advises. If not that is something to start with.

I am not ATT, i'm from Poland so Soo.. weird situation today. I've been in city centre where LTE signal is pretty good. For like 3-4h it was constantly switching between 3G/H/H+, and suddenly it caught LTE. Now I am at home and it still connects to LTE, 2 bars just like in Note 4. I am pretty confused now. It seems that modem/kernel/APN are all right, maybe a kind of system trigger that "stabilizes" the signal? 3G/H+ has 5 bars here, LTE only 2. I have already put a tick to "LTE (preffered) in network options. How about this?

Wow that is cool! I remember my CM12 used to constantly wobble between H/H+ and once I finally gave up messing with it and screen turned off for 15-20 minutes, I'd turn the screen back on and find myself on a 4G LTE signal (feeling great). Once I made a call it drops to 3G, which is normal, but after I'd hang up it wouldn't necessarily switch back to 4G any time soon.
So I gave edgarf28's XtreStoLite a shot and haven't looked back since! It is touchwiz based, but it is light, debloated, lighting fast, and it just works. I'm on XtreStoLite 2.1, and I have no complains at all.
I have the same problem on a SM-G900T running on AT&T. After every reboot can only get H/H+ leave it alone and will grab LTE 10 to 40 mins after the screen is off. Leave the screen on and won't grab LTE. And of course make a phone call you lose LTE connection. And how long it takes to get back is very random. I can't find a solution to this and got a G900T so I can run AOSP. I was tired of touchwiz and trying to get themed apps and dialers. now I am screwed I wish I could find a solution to this.

I have working lte data but no 3g, so when I move out of lte area the signal icon just shows an exclamation point, any help would be greatly appreciated.
The way I fixed mine was by removing all apn entries I didn't need. This caused the search for LTE to speed up no issues since

I removed all but the first APN and still no 3g, just signal indicator with exclamation mark.

Why not upgrade to the latest CM12.1? I am on the October one and all the network issues are resolved.

I really don't know why the development stopped for klteusc, but if I were to guess, I'd guess it is probably covered under another variant.
For example, since klteusc is a cdma phone I won't be surprised to see US cellular CM getting absorbed into kltespr development. But this is just a hypothetical scenario because I couldn't find any proof. But it is worth looking into if anyone is talking about it online.
