I am using my tablet connected to an external monitor via HDMI and would like to "close" the tablet onto the keyboard without having it power down. Anybody have an idea how to do this? I am using screen standby for the market which blanks the screen, but when I close the tablet onto the keyboard it shuts down.
Thanks.

Hi folks,
I bought the Acer Dockingstation for the A500/A501 and it doesn´t seem to work
correctly. I already got a replacement unit which shows exactly the same problems as the first one.
Here is what I tried:
I connected the Dockingstation with the Power Supply of the A501. When docking the tablet, Nemo Player starts as it should and the tablet begins charging. Headphone out on the Dock works as well without a problems.
What doesn´t work and makes the Dock mostly worthless to me is the Remote feature.
The tablet does nothing when I press keys on the remote, neither in Nemo Player nor
Switching on/off the tablet.
I checked the remote with a camera, it´s working and sends out beams of light. I suppose the problem is the Dockingstation.
Should there be a power indicator light showing the Dock is connected to Power? Above the Power sign on the Dock there seems to be a LED.
What I also recognized is that there is a high sound when connecting the power supply to the Dock which does not exist when connecting the tablet directly to the power supply.
Can anyone help me on this topic? I´m especially interested in the Power LED should there be one lighting up, when the Dock is connected to Power?
Thanks in advance for you help
Tobias
Hey guys I am hoping someone can help with this because I am frustrated bad. I got the keyboard dock yesterday and every time I dock the pad the screen begins flicking on/off. It isn't usable and it is unresponsive to the power button. I have tried rebooting it docked and re-docking but I still get the same issue.
The connection seems solid and when the screen comes on I can use the mouse and keyboard until the screen goes back to sleep or whatever it is doing.
I have tried to disable the track pad but that doesn't seem to help at all.
I have not seen this issue in the forum so hopefully someone can point in the right direction or I am just going to take the thing back.
I also toggled the timeout period to 3 minutes but it was a no go.
It will flicker on for about 5-10 seconds then go off and then back on a few seconds later.
I am running 8.4.4.11
and dock version 209
Thanks for your help,
Pure
Hi!
Is it possible to configure the Transformer to automatically turn the Display on when the Battery is loaded and switch it off if not?
Maybe an app can do that?
For Background:
I'm planing to install the tab in my car and switching the power adapter with the ignition. Would be cool if the screen turns on when I start the car and turns off when it's shut down.
found something:

Tasker can do this, and much more..

I currently have a docking station that connects via USB and connects 2 monitors, 6 USB, LAN, etc. I have found that there does not seem to be any built in functionality to change lid closing behavior when the dock is plugged in.
For example, when undocked, I want the computer to sleep when I close the lid.
When docked, I want the screens to extend when the lid is open. But when I close the lid, turn off the built in monitor and run only the two docked monitors.
I am currently managing this via the power plan lid closing settings. If I set the lid close action to Do Nothing, then the laptop screen is still on and I cannot see it. (things get lost on that screen)
If I set the lid close action to Sleep, then the computer sleeps, but I am able to wake it and log back in with the docked keyboard. Then both docked monitors work and the laptop screen doesn't even show up in Display Settings options.
This second option technically meets my needs, but I find it rather annoying. Is there any piece of software that will just manage this stuff similar to how many Linux distros do? Surely the computer can be smart enough to switch off the laptop screen when the lid is closed.
So I'm using the Fire HD 8 as a wall tablet with Fully and Sharptools for home automation. I need to keep the tablet "always on" and use a black screen saver because apparently if the screen locks, the only way to unlock it is to press the button. Which would require me to remove the tablet from the wall mount so quite the pain.
The black screen saver at night is a glowing light grey.
Curious if there is a way to do something with the 7th Gen that would allow it to be woken by an app? Without having to pry the sucker open and root it with Linux?

Click to collapse
Can you wake your Fire tablet itself by using MacroDroid device automation app from Google Play
Sideloaded that, will see if I can figure out how to actually enable that.
Hmmm...created a screen unlock macro with "swipe from top right down" as the trigger. Didn't seem to do anything, unless I configured it wrong.
