Hi folks,
I bought the Acer Dockingstation for the A500/A501 and it doesn´t seem to work
correctly. I already got a replacement unit which shows exactly the same problems as the first one.
Here is what I tried:
I connected the Dockingstation with the Power Supply of the A501. When docking the tablet, Nemo Player starts as it should and the tablet begins charging. Headphone out on the Dock works as well without a problems.
What doesn´t work and makes the Dock mostly worthless to me is the Remote feature.
The tablet does nothing when I press keys on the remote, neither in Nemo Player nor
Switching on/off the tablet.
I checked the remote with a camera, it´s working and sends out beams of light. I suppose the problem is the Dockingstation.
Should there be a power indicator light showing the Dock is connected to Power? Above the Power sign on the Dock there seems to be a LED.
What I also recognized is that there is a high sound when connecting the power supply to the Dock which does not exist when connecting the tablet directly to the power supply.
Can anyone help me on this topic? I´m especially interested in the Power LED should there be one lighting up, when the Dock is connected to Power?
Thanks in advance for you help
Tobias

I'm new to Mortscript and trying to work out how to code a small script to turn the power on when I connect my Kaiser to my Brodit car kit. The power & backlight come on when I power from USB or the mains charger but not when in the Brodit, even though the red charging light is on.
I'm hoping a Mortscript that detects (ExternalPowered() could be used to power on the device. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as having to find the power button on the Kaiser every time I'm in the car is a pain.
Tytn II running Laurentius26_WM_6.1_PRO.V6a
Bad chance. No program is executed while in standby, so it's a classical recursion problem: You'd need to power on to execute a program that powers on. Only some basic system routines (like clock, phone, and a scheduler for alarm clock, appointments, etc.) are running in standby, and there's no way to add own ones.
While it's possible to power on your device with RunAt (which uses the scheduler mentioned above, WM calls this "Notifications"), this wouldn't be much good - it would also turn on your device if it's in your pocket, and a PowerOff if not externally powered might cause it's done while you were doing something else...
Does anyone know if its possible to automatically turn on this device when an external power is applied.
Basically if the battery is flat and the phone is turned off. When a external power supply is supplied ( normal mini usb power cable ) I want the phone to turn on.
I'm hoping for a software solution but if its not possible, does anyone if a hardware solution is known.
If the answer is still no, does anyone know of a WM phone that does offer this option ?
Thanks

I'm getting fed up of the screen turning itself on for things it really doesn't need to - for example:
connecting the charger cable
disconnecting the charger cable
getting to 100 % charged status
connect headphone cable
If I do want the screen back on at those times, I could just press the Home button. Any suggestions on how to stop this annoying functionality as I can't find an option for it?
Andre
I would like to know this as well. As would everyone else who charges it at night, I imagine. (Preferably without the need to root.. But I doubt that's possible.)
Would like to add "When answering call over headset" to that. It keeps muting itself in my pocket because of that every. single. bloody. time!
I normally have the "don't turn screen off while charging" mode enabled, so I can see it when it's on my desktop stand, and just manually turn the screen off with the power button once I don't need it. But the bleeping thing turns itself back on when charge is at 100%, and so it then stays on unless I'm there to turn it off. So I've have had to disable that mode.
There's a perfectly good LED to show me the charging status, why do I need the whole screen to wake too?
Andre
Any ROMs or kernels out there that anyone could suggest which support disabling the annoying screen-wakes on 100% charge, connect-to-charger, disconnect-from-charger, headset insert, etc.?
Andre
For anyone else looking for the same answer, try Wanam's Xposed module (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-wanam-xposed-customize-stock-t2383484) which allows you to disable a number of the more pointless screen-wakes (including 100% charge, and unplugging charger). Hopefully he can fix the remaining ones at some point too.
Requires root of course.

Hi all,
just having some issues with switching off my RK3288 box if the HDMI connection is lost.
The TV box is mounted in my car and power is switched off if I pull out the key. This is for sure a dirty power off and I don´t like it at all.
I tried different apps for switching the box off.
Unfortunately every time the box switches off for a second and goes back on.
If I could find a power off app that really switches off, instead to reboot, I could get that working with Tasker...
Any tips for a power off app, that really switches off a RK3288 box?
Seems that recently my nexus player remote has just cropped out. Currently I'm using the android app as well as the HDMI-CEC functionality through the TV remote. Bluetooth on the player is functioning normally. The remote, no matter what, will not enter pairing mode when I hold the home and back buttons. The LED blinks three times in rapid succession and then nothing. Fresh batteries, nothing. Searched for it with other Bluetooth devices, nothing. What's up with my remote? Has this happened to anybody else? My player isn't even a year old yet :/
Did you find a solution to this? This just happened to me. Thought the batteries were dead but fresh batteries don't help.
Press and hold both the back button and the home key at the same time to enter pairing mode for the Nexus remote.
I've got the same problem, cant pair it anymore...
