I have the dreaded "Wifi connection is unstable issue" on my VZN Note 3. Someone made a post saying there may be fix by putting in *#0011# then tapping the settings button and then turning wifi power saving off.
I think the service code given may be for a different carrier than VZN because nothing happens when I input it. Hitting the call button just sends me to Verizon's automotronic voice.
Anyone know what the code should be and how to input it?

Hello-
I have searched around- but I was wondering if anyone knew of a program that would solve my problem with my key lock.
Basically, what happens when someone calls is my phone will automatically answer. Since the touchscreen becomes active, it will touch the answer button or some other button.
Some people have blamed it on the way I pick up my phone.. or the pouch.. or whatever. Frankly, the reason isnt what is important to me- I just want my phone to stay locked when it is locked and only allow pickup by pressing an actual button...
Any thoughts? I cant imagine I am the only user with this issue.

It could be wrong by setting up your PPC. You can check again as follows:
Settings=> Phone=> More=> Automatic pickup: do not select 'Answer incoming calls without pressing'=> OK

Nope.. that is not it. It isnt that it automatically picks up after a certain amount of rings.
If you get a call with the Wing, the actual screen allows you to press answer or ignore- even while in screen lock. You should be forced to have to press an actual button, imo.
I read somewhere that I should disable roaming to prevent missed calls. Should I also disable data roaming?
Also, is this the explanation on why I would look at my phone and see that it had switched to airplane mode?

as for plane mode, holding the hardware End button for a few seconds puts it in plane mode, ive noticed sometimes the holster pinches it and does that

not that i know of, sorry, ive been looking for something too, all the button mappers ive seen only deal with the shortcut buttons on the side and top
Its a system function, ie. a layer beyond what button mappers do.
There is something in the registry I believe you can edit to change that, although I don't recall where. I did it on another HTC device once.
Simple work around... simply lock the keypad or put the phone in standby before putting it in the holster. One button pushed, problem solved.
I don't know why allowing voice roaming would cause you miss calls. Data roaming could cause this, though. EVDO supports calls ringing through even in an active data session, but 1xRTT does not. Most of Sprint's roaming agreements only let you data roam on 1x. So if you're roaming and in a data session, you won't receive calls.
not sure if anyone is still interested but i found the reg key to disable going into flight mode with the end call button
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/PhoneExtendFunction/CDMA/
set FlightModeSwitchByPnHEndKey to 0
Hello.
Does anyone know why and most importantly how to prevent end of calls when pressing power button?
I've tripple checked option in accessibility settings of the phone, no checbox checked to allow such behaviour.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
Try reflashing the rom, it could fix it. Then let us know if its fixed

Doesn't anyone else think that it's way too easy to accidentally call 911 on the g2? With dt2w - all it takes is 4 obtuse knocks and you're connected to your friendly local dispatcher...
After spending the last 8 hours searching every possible thread, trying every relevant xposed module, and looking for and modifying system files(which lead to several soft bricks), I still haven't been able to remove the emergency call button on the lock screen.
Wanam xposed(for samsung) and several KK modules have the option but there are none for lollipop.
Any ideas?
By law it has to be there I believe.
But I'd think pressing that button and the various combination keys followed by call is unlikely.

I think the law would only apply to the manufacturers so that they put it there. I don't think it would be illegal for someone to remove it.
It's actually exceedingly easy to accidentally dial 911 on the g2. All you have to do is hold the button on the lockscreen and press once on the preset. It wouldn't be an issue if the emergency call button accessed the dial pad where you could dial manually.
Nevertheless, there still has to be a way to remove it on a rooted g2 w/ lollipop. Can someone with some skill share that information?
as the topic says; How to turn off emergency call? by pressing the power button twice while the screen is off ?
i saw some youtube videos where they have an option for pressing the power button twice launches the camera. but i don't see it anywhere. and instead of the camera, my op5 makes an emergency call. which is annoying!
i think thats an indian custom. i read that the law demands that. otherwise its under key settings.

probably hidden in some config file

This annoying "feature" activates only if your OP5 was bought in India and has an Indian SIM in one of the SIM slots.
I removed the Indian SIM and it does not dial 911 when power button is double clicked.
I put the India SIM back on, but had and set it to "inactive" in the software, but the issue persists.
The only way to get around this is to not have an Indian SIM in either of the slots.
It was a bit annoying as I am not in India and I activate my Indian SIM only for banking, but just because the SIM is in the phone, this "feature" is forced on us. I reached out and spoke to the customer care, but they pretty much said that it is how it is, and they "might" change it in the future, but I won't hold my breath...
I can understand the phone having a panic button, but I feel it is only fair to ask it to kick in if the Indian SIM is activated or if the phone is in India. We shall wait and see if OP will actually do something about it.
Is there a way to disable this if you have root ?
or an rooted app ?
Anyone?

i found a way on OOS 5.0 (oreo)
simply turn off double tap to wake in gestures.
It works like a charm
Nope.
Well
1. Didn't work for me (I'm on OB19).
2. I'm not going to go without D2W anyway.
Any developers around that could point us to the right mod?

Thanks! This is certainly in the right area.
However, could you be more specific as to which file to manipulate - I tried fiddling about with it a little bit, but no dice so far.
And if you also know how to enable the double tap to launch camera again, that'd be great.

Finally found the solution.
Received Android P update today. I can see an option to turn off emergency call. Just Navigate to Settings - > Security & Lock Screen -> Emergency Rescue -> Emergency Call Trigger just set it to disable.
Thanks! solution worked
Thank you buddy! Finally got the Emergency button to NOT work... phew, what a relief
