Lost ALL data - Phone won't boot - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've managed to loose alll the data on my internal SD Card now... I can't get it to reboot into recovery or into the normal boot. How can I get it back to a stage where I can boot it normally? I tried to wipe the data partition and then sideload a ROM.. which failed because it said update.zip wasn't available... did a reboot and now it won't go anywhere at all..HEELLPPP

Try it.

I grabbed that... The data on the phone is all gone.. so what I had to do was put the ROM (echoe) onto a Micro SD card and load it that way... It has loaded it says successfully however it just sits at the loading screen and never seems to go past that...so I tried using the ZIP file for the boot loop like was suggested.. but it seems to be doing the same thing... stuck on the loading screen... not rebooting... just sitting there playing the animation in its correct loop.

I tried using adb logcat but its not getting to the point that logcat can even see the USB device I'm not sure what else I can do?

Can do download mode and use Odin to flash stock rom?

SM-9005

I saw your firmware @ Sammobile and they have MI7 for your model and carrier.

I just tried using the Sprint AP and CSC file and it said "FAIL!" and now I can't get to CWM or anything.. The only thing is says when trying to go to recovery is Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
I don't know the exact model of the phone as I can't get to any place I'd normally know how to view it as there is no OS

Take the battery out and little stick at back of the phone or check the sticker on the box if you still have it.

I just had a look on sammobile.. and did a search for SM-9005 and got no results at all :\ There's also nothing in the latest firmware.. Am I looking in the wrong spot? http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/

You will need to look under firmwares and look up your model. Im not sure if it will let you download unless you signed in. If not just register its free.

There seems to be everything BUT Australia or Telstra :'(

Its there
Sent from my SM-N900W8 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

kewl.. found it...wasn't quite where I was expecting to find the searching tool.. I did a search for 5009 and everything but Australia came up.. then I found that pare you suggested.. however samsung decided to put it on hotfile.. didn't quite have 4.5 hours left at work to wait to download it.. cost me $9... better hope this works..

SM-N9005 - you forgot the N in the model, probably why it hasn't shown up dude.
It is there though.

Glad you found it.

OK i've got the file from sammobile.. its "N9005XXUBMI7_N9005TELBMI2_N9005XXUBMI6_HOME.tar.md5" .. what do I do with this? or do I use "N9005XXUBMI7_N9005TELBMI2_TEL.zip" if so? how do I apply it?

Using Odin3 I get this happen:
<ID:0/009> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/009> Initialzation..
<ID:0/009> Set PIT file..
<ID:0/009> DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET!!

Use the odin version and odin manual you find here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2104988
I'll take a look. Thanks
I've noticed that from recovery, when I choose to reboot into Bootloader, I get the fuzzy screen continuously.
What is rebooting to the bootloader supposed to look like?

The original recovery has no "reboot into bootloader" option.
Dude... use a stock samsung rom, use the odin I give on that page and use odin as written in the manual you find there.

Ok, i'll give that a try now. I didn't know it had to be a certain version of Odin.
Thanks
Still no luck.
Looks like it's stuck like that.
Thanks for your help anyway.
I've also noticed that after flashing stock firmware via Odin, the phone stays stuck on the bootloader, unless I do a factory reset in recovery.
EDIT: I've also just noticed that according to the link below, I am flashing the wrong firmware, but I downloaded the UK stock N8010 firmware from Sammobile. Strange.

Still no luck. I guess I'll have o cope with it for now. I'll eventually send it to get fixed.

You can look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2268735
You can use my batch file N8000_SaveMyPitfile.zip or N8020_SaveMyPitfile and send me or post the pit file result for control.
As you can see the batch make only a copy of a little portion memory of N8010
So i can verify it (if it is completed for ex.) post it as regular n8010 pit file and post new batch for save my pit file of N8010 16GB!
If you still need the pitfile, I've ordered a red note 10.1 wifi only 16gb. (which is the n8010, I think)
It will arrive this Friday or Saturday; if I'm at home to open the door, that is.
So it might be Monday or later (I'll try to keep you posted)
I'll install a custom recovery and get root anyway. (Is there TWRP for it?)

Somehow I have broken my GT-N8010 a few days ago and I've been trying to find a pit file since that day, so I would need this pit file too, please.
Regarding your question about TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133920
What version of Odin have you tried?
Actually, you do not need a pit.
Please boot into recovery (Vol-Up + Power + Home) and tell me what your CSC is.

I'm currently at work, but will have a look when I'm at home.
But as far as I found out, an update via PDA File from Samsung (Stock FW) didn't change anything.
Also all tips on other threads:
- Wipe data /Cache, Dalvic Cache, System and so on changed nothing.
It freezes at the Boot Image "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1"
Best Regards

[Q] - Help Firmware upgrade encountered an issue

Hello guys,
I am a S4 owner, coming from a rooted S3 with custom roms. I am trying to root my brand new S4 but there's an issue whenever i try to flash the CF-Auto Root, i get the following error <ID:0/003> There is no PIT partitionand FAILED on Odin.
The phone is not soft-bricked, as I can perfectly boot it up.
I don't know what i'm supposed to do, i am still on the official samsung stock firmware, i tried flashing CWM Recovery before rooting and after going into recovery mode I remembered that you can't have a custom recovery without rooting first. Did flashing CWM mess something up and it's causing me to get that FAIL on Odin?
Cheers.

( Solved )SGS4 DO NOT ACCEPT formate or replace the Rom

Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings
I got SGS4 4G version. Since buy almost two months ago. I install recovery and root of the device and everything is normal. Before a few days I decided to update the device and installation of another rom available. Through the program of Odin in the first attempt appeared following problem: 'there is no pit partition.'
discussed the problem, and found that I must add a pit file during setup the rom. I did it, but there is a problem again :
'Complete write operation failed'
Solutions i make it:
trying to install more than 3 different rom.
Change Computer
change cable usb and experience more than 3 types
installed cooked rom ( ) succeeded
attempt to format not succeed,
through entry in recovery and wipe data ends and returns on, but device remains as it is, without any change.
You ticked repartition case that's why odin demanded a pit file.I think you used a wrong pit file you need a pit file that corresponds to your internal memory size and your device model.

Mate, NEVER tick repartition when flashing a rom with ODIN... This will require a PIT file and this can really brick your phone if you have the wrong one or a corrupted PIT file.
Flashing the PIT file is the last thing you do to recover your phone before sending in to service center...

HELP! Failed to mount /data (Invalid Arguement) on reovery reboot!

Not sure why this is happening. I have a Verizon stock S7 and have never tried to flash or anything. I've noticed that this error message pops up everytime I go to reboot while in reovery mode. Whether it'a a factory reset/format data or a cache format. I've done factory resets fine since this error message so I'm not sure what it affects.
Has anyone else had this and what exactly does it mean?

Did you happen to try out the method I suggested then? You can enable those settings either after you successfully flash or if it still fails.

Can't find reactivation lock in my settings and really don't want to go through another factory reset... Did like 15 in the past 2 days. Annother user narrowed it down to just the way the code is written in the recovery.

Understandable, I would feel the same way. I guess just don't worry about it then until you ever feel the need to update your phone.
Just for S&G I went into my recovery and did not seem to have the problem you were having, I use the Verizon variant as well.
Good luck and sorry i couldn't figure it out.

Bricked? Note 4

Hey guys.
So i got an update a few hours ago, downloaded it and tried to install it. Everything was going normal, but when the 'system update installing' was at a 100%, it stayed there for a few minutes and then the screen turned black. Waited for like an hour but nothinig happened. So i pulled the battery and tried to reboot, but it directly went into download mode with the message:
Could not do normal boot.
ddi : mmc_read failed
Odin mode (High speed)
Rebooted in recovery mode, started installing the system update again, and the same thing happened. Basically i'm in a installing loop now.
So then i tried to install stock rom with Odin, but the process failed and got the message that there was no pit partition.
Tried to flash a pit partition, but got the messages:
File analysis..
SetupConnection..
Complete (write) operation failed.
Now i literally have no clue what to do. I can't do a full wipe because i can't get into actual recovery mode, and flashing something with Odin seems impossible too.
Does anyone have any tips? Really feeling lost atm.
Thanks in advance

N910F, running stock android 6.0
Go to note4/511 and download each and every file except for the one named as apq8084.pit.
https://mega.nz/#F!QIMmFRIT!Ns3AM-n0FUoMqOOWUif9ng
Load all the files in their respective slots of Odin.
Select repatriation, f.time reset and uncheck auto reboot.
Flash.
That's it done.
If you are still not able to fix your phone, then refer this thread:

This the folder in that mega link.
Yes, the firmware is 5.1.1, thats the only recovery firmware available for any note 4 model.
If you want to fix your phone, then this is the method.

Don't worry. Just keep re-flashing those files. I have had the same problem couple of times. It did fail, but 1 out of 25 flashes was successful, at least for me.
I also noticed that once I flashed the repair firmware, I couldn't just update my phone to its latest version. It kept failing.
There is a workaround for that. Remove your SD & SIM card, flash either the 4.4.4 or the 5.1.1 repair firmware until successful. Go through first time setup normally. Once at home screen, go to system updates and disable automatic updates. Then download "Dummy File Generator" from Play Store and keep generating (Full) & deleting dummy files 10-20 times until it happens smoothly and without any FCs.
Then download the latest firmware for your device and flash it through ODIN.
It failed once for me, but worked the 2nd time. I still have to use WakeLock manager so that the device doesn't freeze, lag or reboot automatically.
Caution: It is time consuming.

Thanks for your reply, but fortunately the problem is fixed. Shame is that I have no clue how lol. This morning after waking up (had the battery out the whole night), I started the device and it started updating again. But this time, instead of looping the recovery, it just normally rebooted, started optimising the apps and acted like nothing happened.. not even lost any files or anything lol. Very strange
That's good for u then

Oh. Great. I have had to re-flash so many times by now that I could probably work for Samsung and get paid well.
