I want to know if it is possible to force a ongoing call/dialer app to be on top for the duration of the call. The reason for this is because on my carrier, MTN in South Africa, has a really neat deal. When making calls I get a certain percentage discount from call charges. It depends on how far I'm calling, whether it's to the same network etc. This information is shown as soon as the call connects. I've attached a screenshot of this message.
This message minimises the dialer and goes to homescreen, then when I want to end the call, I have to pull down the notification bar, select the ongoing call entry to get back to the call, then dismiss it. It's really quite annoying, so my question, is there a way to block this little message? An Xposed module maybe..? I don't know much about this kind of hacking but if someone who knows how could help me I'd be very grateful. If you need the phone.apk I'll provide that also.

So I did a search for this and didn't find it, but if I am stupid and just missed it, I appologize in advance.
When I get a voicemail, the notification pops up and I hit dismiss. The notification still stays on the 'desktop' and I can't get to the notiifcation of the missed call.
Is there anyway to actually dismiss the notification of voicemails and reverse the order so that missed calls notification comes up (so that I know who left the possible voicemail)?

you need to tap on the voicemail icon at the tome bar (on the right next to start menu) - this will bring up an extended menubar which you can then tap on the missed calls icon.
or press call button to goto the phone, use the menu opton to view call history.
Yeah, I know of that meathod, but is there anyway to make it the missed call the first default notification?
And also, is there anyway to truly dismiss the notification but let the voicemail notificatin stay up top? On a normal phone, it says you have a voicemail and it lets you use your phone normally after that, not insisting on you checking the voicemail.

This is especially severe when one is in Europe and has no intention of checking voicemail until returning to the states (or vice versa, I suppose). I have several times checked voicemail from overseas just to get rid of the notification.
Apparently, the Cingular 8525 (Hermes) has the same issue. I've opened an official ticket with Cingular/HTC and will be posting the replies. I guess this is a WM5 issue, since WM6 fixes the bug. But since there's not official upgrade that fixes the bug, I will stay on their asses until they do. However, since I don't have a Cingular 8125 (Wizard), I can't pursue a fix for that model. Has anybody else has a problem with 'ghost' voicemail icon in the Status Bar (the icon showing when there are no new Voicemail Messages). It only happens occasionally, mainly after SMS or emails are received.
Also, this may seem like a silly question - How do you turn the alarm off!?! I press the 'drop call' in the bottom right which stops the noise, but the icon still sits in the status bar!

Are you using your phone on Orange UK? I ask this because I am, and a couple of my Orange phones in the past have had this "problem". In every case, I have been able to get rid off this by calling Orange Customer Service on 150, then going through the myriad of voice menus to actually speak to someone concerning a Voice Mail problems, they can "refresh the voicemail settings" on their systems. This usually solves the problem. Hope it helps for you.
(Obviously if you're NOT with Orange UK, whoever your service provider is should be able to assist you in a similar way. Years ago when I was with Cellnet (that gives you a clue how long ago it was!) and Vodafone, they didn't use the voicemail icon, they used to just send you a text - I don't know if this is still the case or not.

I've just got this problem tonight. I couldnt get rid of the voicemail icon or that i had a voice message. what i did to get rid of it was phoned my phone from another and left a message. called voicemail, listened to message and deleted. the icon has now dissapeared.

I have read all over the Internet, but everyone makes complaint about some missed notifications. I need the opposite. When I reject the call I DON'T want to see any notification about missed call. To reject or not it is only my decision. How to remove this annoying feature?
My device is BA (Qtek 9090) with WM 6.1.
Start > Settings > Sounds and Notifications
select Missed call from drop down menu, then untick Show message on screen
but it will disable the notification for missed call too
IN ANY Windows Mobile Device, the cancelled/rejectedcall is treated as missed call
I know this. 10x. Idea is to find some software which will make difference between rejected and not answered calls. Of course, I want to know about missed calls and don't want to use stylus every time after rejecting the call.
Really this is a mess only for me?

I love this phone N4 but i don't really like the GUI when receiving call. When you need to pull to left reject the call and pull to right to receive the call. Sometimes i got the phone upside down and did that in the wrong way around (which i plan to receive the call but i rejected the call instead). So just wondering, is it possible to change the GUI when receiving call? like have a clearer (more colorful buttons) to receive the call.

Is there an app would make my blocked / Reject phone number go away and not show up on my "always on" - "locked screen" - "Home screen pull-down" screens as a missed call. What is the point of blocking/rejecting a call if they keep showing up on my phone??? The only thing I want showing up on my "always on" & "locked" screens is text messages. I'm really hoping I don't have to root to do this. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

I assume you are talking about a notification. You can use the clear notification action if you want to clear it, but MacroDroid cannot stop your system or other apps from creating notifications.
Not sure what you mean, when I actively reject a call, there isn't any notification, for me it's gone for good and if I want to review it I have to take a look at the call list.
What settings did you use to do that then? On my S7 Edge, once I put a number on rejected list, if they call back again, the little icon still shows up on my "always on", "locked" & "Home pulldown" screens.
I figured this xda forum would have a solution? Guess not...
Have you tried True Caller? Free 3rd party app for blocking unwanted calls, you can blacklist number, you can also block all blocked number, and they maintain a list of spam callers you can automatically block. You can choose to have notifications or no notifications.

I emailed truecaller with some questions. Not so sure after seeing one of the reviews:
Please revert back to previous version Double notification for missed call it pathetic for me. I don't want truecaller to handle my call the way it is now. Please revert back to previous version. It was definitely a 5 star application. I don't like truecaller to give me missed call notification. All the android phone by default gives it. Duplicate notification is not at all desirable.
I use Blacklist, does what I need it to do. I don't even notice when the NRA calls me 10 times a day for donations anymore.
