- your firmware now?
- what firmware do you want flash?
if you have already 257 no rooted you must return to 534 and root it
then you can upgrade with OTA and have 257 rooted
or flash a custom rom LB.

sorry if there is a thread asking this question before...
i have unlocked bootloader, rooted and currently
model R800i
build 3.0.A.2.184
version 2.3.2
if i OTA to 2.3.3 will it brick?
thank you
I am no expert so wait for someone who knows for sure, but I believe if you have an unlocked bootloader you will brick your phone with the update.
that's why i didn't process to update... help anyone could help give me a guild how to update to the latest firmware with rooted???
thanks
If you unlocked the bootloader, both OTA and SEUS will brick the phone. You'll have to flash the update manually.

FTF, flash with flashtool. TA removed. You don't have to wipe data if you're on the last version of 4.4.4 from rogers or elsewhere, works fine.
Hi there, I'm a total newbie to FTF flashing for the Xperia Z1. Just for my own clarification: I have a stock, unrooted, locked bootloader Rogers Xperia Z1 on 4.4.4. I can flash this using the flashtool and I will be on lollipop?
Thank you!

Yes
You will loose everything - install apps, settings, etc.
Only items on your External SD card will remain untouched.

Hey folks out there... I have made a step by step tutorial video on how to root 5.1.1 of our z2... Hope it will help everyone
This is downgrade method which use two tools which can root KitKat 4.4.2 firmwares on this device. So there is no point to use Kingroot method to achieve root. Simplier method is downgrade to 4.4.2 firmware by flashing correct ftf -file with Flashtool by @Androxyde and root device with Flashtool or XZDualrecovery by @[NUT].

I know with the Z3 i was able to flash an older firmware without unlocking the bootloader or doing any changes in order to be on a easily rootable version. Is it the same way with the X Compact?
There are some DirtyCow-tools to root phones, but I don't know if root is persistent or if it even works on the XCs ROMs. You can just download the earliest ROM you can find and try it youself. There are some ressources around, although not in this forum.
So yes, you should be able to downgrade and root, but so far nobody has posted any first person reports wether it works with the X Compact.
Thanks. I installed the firmware listed by Androplus in his advanced stock kernel 34.1.A.1.198 and worked from there. I guess in time there will be a way to root without unlocking bootloader but for now i'm happy. Now just waiting for a way to mirror the screen with the unlocked bootloader.
Hi All,
I have an Xperia z5 E6633 which I have previously rooted and in doing so unlocked the bootloader.
I am trying to get it back to stock as much as possible and hopefully reinstate the Android Security Updates, does anyone have any experience in this?
So far I have flashed a stock firmware and locked the bootloader using Flashtool, Flashed a what I believe to be stock kernel but am still unable to get OTA Security updates.
I think I may have installed a kernel for E6683 as well as the device is listed as such on the Xperia Companion and on Flashtool and believe flashing the stock kernel will fix this, though I dont seem to be able to find a stock kernel for E6633 on the internet.
Does anyone have the stock firmware/kernal currently and could possible provide these for me to flash?
Many Thanks.
