Go to your extended ROM >>> see if there is a BT.cab there, and of so run it. Otherwise you may have to reflash the ROM. Maybe others will advise differently.
Nope...that aint there... i searched a few extended rom compilations but couldnt find any BT.cab or similiar cab

Given we are using the same ROM version (Sin's merged), then I think the drivers are there but it sounds as thought the icon (BT_Icon.cab in the ROM) may be missing. What you could do is download BTH Tools v.1010 from XDA-Developers ... I found it yesterday by doing a search. This is installed from a PC and may help you get it going. It is not a BT engine, merely a means of activating/deactivating BT and it shows which battery is in use as well.
I have a weird one as well in that my BT works well in connecting with a laptop computer, but when I use it with a Plantronics M3000 BT earpiece, I have to re-do the connection the hard way (i.e., pair the damn thing) after every time the XDA II is suspended. I don't think it is the Plantronics device (which is a piece of ****e in my experience) alone .... will sort it even if I have to buy a better BT earpiece. Maybe others have some advice??
I hope someone is able to help me.
Okay I have the Wizard, upgraded to Wizard Mobile 6.
Shortly after, all my bluetooth devices (car kit, headset...) had their microphones die. In other words nobody could hear me when speaking through any kind of bluetooth.
I then flashed the Radio ROM to a different version, and bluetooth was repaired. But now the problem has returned for no reason.
Why does my Wizard's bluetooth audio in keep failing, yet its speaker works fine and I can hear other people?
Is there a recommended update to the Bluetooth Stack I can try?

I do have exactly the same problem. After flashing XDA Mobile 6 Release 3, microphone has worked for couple of days, and then suddenly died. Interesting, microphone is working with Notes but not with phone. I went back to
XDA Mobile 6 Release 2 for some other reasons (read: 2MB more free memory for critical application) but the problem with Bluetooth microphone remains. Radio is 2.25. Any advice?

There are also at least 3 people at the Wizard Mobile 6 thread with the same issue. Very surprised none of the experts here have been able to propose a fix. Makes the phone virtually worthless if you can't use it in the car etc.
As a workaround, I have found if you mute then unmute the phone volume, the issue is sometimes temporarily resolved for a short time. It always comes back though
I have been asked to join this thread. Per a PM:
We love the ROM you have provided, and are very thankful, however it was not until installing it that this issue arose. It does not seem fair to leave a number of people with a phone that is unusable for 'phone calls'.

(Bolding added by me)
I don't know what to tell you. If the rom doesn't work for you, then don't use it... Don't tell me its "not fair". I use MS Voice Command, and XM6r3 and have never seen this issue with my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone). I've also tested this out with a Plantronics Explorer 210 headset that I have and it has not problems with XM6r3 either. My A2DP headset (Spider) also works fine on XM6r3 with MS VC. I've stated this in the past when people have said they have BT issues on my rom. Sorry, but I can't reproduce it, so its hard for me to fix something that isn't broken for me.
Try this... Do a hardreset on your device (take a backup first if you want), then leave it as the base rom with NOTHING extra added. Run that way for a few days (how ever long it has taken before) and see if the problem happens again. If it doesn't then its not my rom but something being added to it (probably screwing with the registry someplace). If it does happen, then as I've stated before, I've seen a number of BT devices be flakey on WM6 (especially car kits). Try a different rom then. If someone with the problem can pin it down, I'll be happy to do what it takes to fix this issue if its something in the rom that is causing it.
Thanks mfrazz. What wasn't fair was not the bug, but that you had not responded to previous mentions of it, i.e. not fair to leave us with it. We love the ROM and put a lot of our life in your hands in a way, as we rely on our device so much for work and play. Hope you understand.
Now then, I have already tried a hard reset and the problem never occurs, until WM6 is put back on. Sure, 'use another ROM' is all very well, but we love yours - again, hope you appreciate the sentiment. If you're in a relationship, are you the kind of guy who tells a girl who loves you, 'find another boyfriend', or do you try to make it work
SO, I am wondering if this is related to the glitch you mention where sometimes when switching out of vibrate mode, the ring tone becomes muted. For that, your solution is to play the ringtone again, then it becomes unmuted.
Similarly, our Bluetooth devices mic's are being muted, and if we mute then unmute them again, then they become unmuted. A link that helps point you in the right direction?
Please note, this is not certain bluetooth devices being 'flaky', this is ALL devices. 4 at the latest count, including rock solid Nokia CARK7W car kits and Jabra headsets.
Some people put it down to MS Voice Command, which I have never installed. What does that program do, do you know, to cause the bug? Again I hope that might help point you in the right direction.
Please don't dump us Let's try to fix what is wrong in this relationship
BT problem solved?
CJSnet - not sure if you have resolved this. I was having the same problem and noticed people with reTouched dialer were not, so I loaded that dialer and the problems went away. I am using a Plantronics Voyager 510. Seems the problem might be with the standard dialer.
Hope this helps

Thanks, I'll give that a try. However WM6 has pretty much finished the Wizard for me, and I'm hoping to get a TyTN II soon as a replacement. Shame.
hey guys,
is there a way to pair a bluetoothkeyboard with the defy? And is there a cable to pair the defy with a tv?
Mfg.Homer
As for the cable to TV, I don't think so.
But wouldn't any Bluetooth keyboard just pair with the Defy, or is that dependent on some profile that is not present on the Defy? I.e. do you own a keyboard and can't make it work, or do you just want to know if it would work?
There is a keyboard from "HAMA" which works...but you need any add-on...
keyboards
Tried a chinese bluetooth kb ... driver didn´t work.
3rd party drivers did somehow, but have been a pain in the ass in daily use.
Hardware keyboard which would be best in thinking of energy doesn´t because of missing USB Host.
Still: Defy ist the best phone I ever had ... but the road is loohooong ...
A quick Google search suggests there are enough keyboards to choose from. Just check if there is an Android driver and you should be fine.
Don't really get why one would want a keyboard though. It kind of undoes the portability and it seems a hassle to use. Don't get me wrong: I loved the keyboard on my old HTC Wizard. But that one was integrated in the phone which might be a better option for you as well!

- because you need some sort of time machine to get another waterproof mobile with a querty keyboard.
I would have liked a micro one for a adventure trip to proper blog and chat - the phones are nearly usable for that.
It works with Froyo !
Sorry for such a late post. Anyway, I bought this cheap BT keyboard some time ago. Whilst running the stock Eclair ROM, I had to use 3rd party applications to handle it, but never without lots of issues. I had bought it for test purposes, since Android was not listed as a supported platform. But after I flashed Froyo (in my case, the 3.4.3-11 UK ROM), the keyboard just works as it should. After it was paired (the digit sequence specified on the phone - I chose the widely known 0000 - must be entered in the BT keyboard, followed by <Enter>), I just turn the keyboard on (with the Defy's BT radio also turned on, of course) and press any key. The bluetooth link is immediately established, and I'm able enter data to any applications through it.
Just my 2 cents...
Regards,
Carlos

thanks4info.
I will jump on the CM7 train as soon as (a)gps is ok and will try there.
Still hoping to get usb host running, as other projects successfully activated it per software. Will post results after playing around with CM7.

Wow! For a long time, there was no posts at all in this thread. Ok, back to business. You see, I'm running CM10 too. In fact, due to some issues, I'm still on Quarx 11/17 build. Anyway, until I saw your post, my keyboard was forgotten in a drawer. I took it off, turned it on, pressed a key, and, although it was already paired with the phone, an entry in the status bar came up, which, upon being tapped, asked me to either allow or deny the connection. After a couple of times answering 'Yes', the bluetooth icon, in the status bar, turned blue, and, from that point on, all the text I entered was correctly taken by the phone, without any issues. Have you gone through this phase as well?
EDIT: have just flashed Quarx's CM10.1 05/27 build. Couldn't find a way to make my BT keyboard work with it. Haven't tried his CM10 new buiild, but as they seem to share all the radio (BT, Wifi) parts, it is most probable that it won't work there either. I'm already back to his 11/17 build.
there's some keybords that works, but it depends on the ROM too.
I had a chinese one, and it was a lot better to type than the touch keyboard, but, for me it wasn't very useful because I was unable to use some accents, and I usualy type in Portuguese.
Hello, hopefully this will be a quick, easy question for someone. For some reason, when I try to make a call from my in-car bluetooth, it always returns 'Dialing Failed'.
ie, I push the 'Call' button on the steering wheel, say "Call Bob", the car will confirm "Calling Bob at Home" (which tells me it downloaded the phonebook properly), but then will just say "Dialing Failed".
The phone pairs fine, will receive calls with no issues, will play music and internet radio without a problem, and will even make calls if I hit Dial from the phone instead of the car buttons. It also used to work just fine with my old Motorola Milestone.
So, any suggestions? Is there some setting somewhere I'm missing? Do I have to start downloading some 3rd party apps? (would seem strange if I did)
Currently running Paranoid Android 3.99, stock kernel. Bluetooth is Chevy's MyLink, if it matters.
Thanks for your help!
I also discovered that it will make calls if I say the number instead of the contact name, or if I scroll through the car's screen and select the contact name.
Any suggestions? It just seems odd that it worked fine with a much older phone, but I can't get it to work with the Nexus.
I've tried a few different 3rd party apps, and nothing seems to help - the phone doesn't even seem to see any sort of command, I never see it try to do anything.
Is it something with the kernel? With the radio? Does anyone have this working properly? (ie bluetooth dials from the phonebook downloaded into the bluetooth device). I'd like to have some idea before I start mucking around and wasting too much time.
I'm a little disappointed, I just got the Nexus, and bluetooth functionality should be something straightforward and flawless, not have significant flaws like this.
So I've tried a few different ROMs, different kernels, and different radios, with the same results. Is this a known bug? This must be happening to other people. Is there anyone that can help?
Should I post this somewhere else?

Does the Chevy MyLink software download your contact list or access the list from a synced phone? If it downloads the list, I'd try removing it and re-downloading it to the car.

Yes, it downloads the phonebook. I've re-paired and re-downloaded it numerous times now, with each of the new ROMs/kernels/radios.
I'm thinking it is an Android 4.3 issue, assuming you have 4.3 on your Nexus.
I have had exactly the same issue with my HTC One since I changed the ROM from Android 4.2.2 to 4.3. With 4.2.2, voice dialing worked perfectly when paired with my Camaro Mylink.
Did you ever find a solution?

Try removing all brackets and hyphens from the phone book numbers. Worked for me.
Not a solution but a workaround.
Hi,
After upgrading to Android 8.0 on my H870 I'm encountering multiple issues.
Using my G6 with Ford Sync 2 or 3 keeps crashing Bluetooth. Meanwhile using Bluetooth with my Marshall Stockwell works absolutly fine. Unpairing and pairing again doesn't seem to work.
Also GPS in Google Maps only works for locating me, but when using it with Navigation my location keeps being stuck at my original position and doesn't move...
HERE also keeps being stuck with "Waiting for GPS".
Restarting the phone didn't help.
Does anyone have a solution to my problems? :crying:
Many thanks in advance
Solution:
After restarting my G6 about 3 to 4 times and disabling Call and Contact Access in the Bluetooth device settings and then restarting everything works fine now. (including GPS)
Update:
The problem is back again
Somewhat new solution:
By enabling the developer options my "Bluetooth AVRCP Version" was set to AVRCP 1.5, which isn't the default...
So by changing it to AVRCP 1.4 Bluetooth works fine now...
VS988 here: Everything seems mostly okay, except for the constant bluetooth crashes. Anybody else seeing that? Also, FWIW, not enjoying the system notifications. Trying to figure out how to turn those off.
Usual first fix after a major update is factory reset, did you try that yet?

No, that is such a time-consuming PITA that I always wait until I have no other option. Thanks, though.

I'm H870 EU user, no problems so far after oreo update (without factory reset), BT pairing works as it should...
GPS and navigation also works without bugs.
Just do a factory reset
I had frequent bluetooth crash notifications on nougat. On oreo bluetooth will not connect a2dp/avrcp beyond first pairing with my Pioneer car stereo ..still works fine on bt headsets that dont pull phonebook including my old basic sony car stereo.

If you're talking about persistant battery notification hold on it from notification panel..unfortunately it's all or none. Wish Google had the foresight to allow disable on a per app basis, but you know how wishes go...
I'm having the same problems with bluetooth. My headphones can connect, however after about 3 seconds they automatically disconnect for audio (though they somehow still connect to the phone, just not on audio).
My car still connects and works, however it does sound now like I am listening to a scratched CD (whereas both were working absolutely fine before the update). Haven't found anyone with a solution so far.
Verizon G6 VS988 here.
To respond to a couple of the suggestions here, I did a factory reset first because of bluetooth and battery problems. That didn't fix the problems. I just changed to AVRCP 1.4 Bluetooth and hopefully that fix works for bluetooth. I also have a Ford with Sync.
Something new ive noticed is if i place a call it puts up the audio output notification and everything works as normal. Having reset my phone and car both i can only say LG missed out on my next phone purchase even when running low on phone options.
How do u change to that ? Is it on the phone device settings cant seem to find out how
GPS problem in G6 is a common issue. No solutions so far.
Bluetooth wont work with any device I've tried it with. Many restarts, unpairing, turning on/off bluetooth. Nothing works, need this fixed.
Just adding another testimony of the issue.

I really hate to say this, but I really cannot recommend LG to anyone anymore after all the issues I've got with my phone...
Another question:
I have 2 NFC payment apps installed.
I'm now on version V20c-EUR-XX and since the upgrade I cannot change my default payment app, so when I'm in the store it always tries to pay with app 2 instead of app 1, even when app 1 is on the screen with the card I want to use...
This really frustrates me, because app 2 doesn't always work in stores (but is my preferred app)...

Is that issue because it's an LG phone? Or does it happen because of that version of Android?
One of my friends is using a Galaxy S8+ and he is running Android 8 (same as mine).
I just cannot think of any reason why they removed this feature...
(So it is a issue with my LG H870)
