titanium backup is the utility for you,,if it doesn't restore data then try restoring data only after app is installed,, if else try creating a update zip

how to backup files
Hi, you can try BackupCow.com, which is a good way to backup files to another computers, network drives/shared folders, local folders, external hard drives, iPhone/iPad. You can also build your own cloud storage by utilizing in-house Windows computers.

TRitanium Backup and it should save all data if they are local,I've never expierenced any issues with it. Also in case you dont like rom ,tou c make a backup in cmw with your rom and restore it to original state later.

I'm using Rom Toolbox pro :good: its workin perfect..
I backup my updated apps with data to external sd when Im installing new custom rom ..
You can backup game cache also ..it gives everything back perfect..:good:

titanium backup s the Best So Far ...

I tried backing up Angry Birds w/Data, backup went fine but not the restore .. Angrybirds FCd on startup after the restore. Did not try to re-install the APK tough..
It works when I backup the data files.

Worked for me as well. I had to restore the app from titanium then restore the data separately.
works fine for me too
Alright.....Thanks for your replies....
It worked also for me!

[Q] switching nand rom

before nand we all just download different builds and just copy the data.img file to the next build and basically kept all of our data , app, widget etc.
but what can we do now?
i cant change the data.img file in the nand roms...
how do i change roms and keep all my stuff?
You're gonna need to start backing up and restoring what you want to keep. I recommend titanium backup.

Titanium Backup will backup all apps and most data (like settings, preferences etc.). Beware that if an app offers to download something for additional functionality, that will not always be backupped, as it isn't always stored in the same location. No harm done there, as it doesn't contain settings in such scenario. If you restore the app, all settings will be restored too.
Sincerely,
Mac

nope. you pick the apps you want to backup and then in the new rom you restore them all.

but you all say thet titanium backup is the right thing to do so....
thx.

backing up everything

HI, I have looked around this website and others before I ask this so if i missed something I apologize. My goal is to have a complete backup of my android system. This includes all apps, system settings and game saves (so close to being done with angry birds). Which I believe is called a nandroid backup (?) I also want to backup my ebooks stored at /sdcard/Ebooks and my Masters of Orion 2 game saved in /sdcard/moo2. Will a nandroid backup do this? If not what could I use for a complete backup? I have used the toolkit using option 4 in the backup options however I only get 3 files appox 20mb in size total which cant be everything as bugless beast alone is 233mb without all my apps and data.
What am I missing? Thanx guys alot.
Use titanium backup, works great for me.
Edit: a nandroid backup will backup everything into one lump sum. Titanium backup saves everything individually so you can restore say your game data after you wipe and install a new rom

[Q] Best way to backup everything before flashing?

Hi, What apps do you guys use to backup up your SMS, Contacts, Apps etc before you wipe everything and install a new rom.
Im looking for one that has a restore feature that can easily be used without there being any problems where I'm left with all my data lost
Cheers!

Nandroid backup via CWM or Titanium Backup with rooted device.
Export to xml in titanium backup for sms
Google looks after contracts
Titanium backup for apps
Make a nandroid before you try a new Rom incase you want to go back or forget to backup something

There is also Helium which doesn't require root if you run it plugged into USB on your computer.
Hi guys!
Sorry for the late reply, but thank you for the suggestions!
Titanium backup looks too complicated :L I'm using TWRP atm so a Nandroid backup isn't an option for me I don't think..?
Helium seems to appeal for me, so I will try it out

I would advise you to make at least an EFS backup. You can use the backup function in TWRP for that.
Otherwise, Titanium backup has no real competitor, and is not complicated at all. Try it. You'll thank me later.

If some1 knows the way than pls feel free to share with me. Thanks in advance
U can use Superbackup app and copy the backup folder to your pc to keep it safe. And when you want to restore simply send the backup folder to phone and restore using superbackup
