Can I get the bootloader for my original I9505XXUDMH6_I9505OLBDMG1_XME (4.2.2) firmware as a separate file or is it built into the firmware? I flashed the I9505XXUEMJ5_I9505OLBEMJ5_XME (4.3) firmware and now I desperately want to downgrade back to 4.2.2.

Thanx for the info.

I currently have 4.2.2 with the old bootloader on i9505. I would like to keep it Knox free, but would also like
to try a newer rom. Is there a rom that is as close as possible to stock Samsung 4.3 (obviously
without Knox or new bootloader)?

Which modem would suit the PDA: XXUEML6 version? The same one that came with XXUEML6 in stock? I have heard conflicting reports about different modem versions playing not so nice and its better to match them with what came with stock rom?
I assume also that XXUEML6 WiFi_FIX will need to be flashed via Odin after flashing a modem?
clarification
So do you mean without knox and without bootloader or do you mean or do you mean without knox but with a bootlaoder as it is the older bootloader that i am trying to find for i9505. i understand some forums say you cannot roll back the firmware from 4.4.2 to 4.2. I however am having the screen rotation problem with the new 4.4.2 so i'm trying to find a way and one way might be to install a custom rom with old bootloader via CWM install zip function to replace the new 4.4.2 bootloader. This will then allow me to roll back the firmware to an older version and kill my screen rotation problems.

Hello, im trying to unroot my phone and return it to stock firmware to update it to 4.3, ofc then ill have to root it again, the basic need for me to update is that im trying to install my apps on sd card, which firmware 4.2.2 that i have does not allow. But i cant find my stock firmware on the websites, the version i got is I9500XXUAMDK. Bought my S4 in Saudi arabia, so anyone has a link to that firmware? or should i flash an updated firmware directly? im trying to unroot guide over here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477 so what exactly should i do? e.e
Note: does the 4.2.3 update have options to install to SD? if it does i pretty much prefer it to 4.3 since i hear it has some problems.
HERE we go. You only have to flash this firmware for unroot it if this is the correct firmware for ur phone
thanks! But a question arises xD is this 4.2.2 or 4.2.3 or 4.3?

Hi ,
Once you upgrade your bootloader is not possible to go back to 4..2.2 (or 4.3)
You upgrade your bootloader if:
Flash a stock rom 4.3 and higher
you do not upgrade your bootloader if:
root , install custom recovery and flash a custom rom , there are a few good rom based in samsung stock 4.3 and 4.4.2 you can try them see if you like them and if you don't you can always flash stock 4.2.2 and be as you were
Ok, so essensialy i can't downgrade the bootloader to 4.2.
but a official 4.2.2 firmware (without knox) will work on a 4.4 bootloader ??? (again i don't care about knox working or not)

It has been done to 4.3 in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2744061
they have flashed a 4.3 ROM without bootloader over a 4.4 ROM so the result is a 4.3 rom with a 4.4 bootloader

HI ,
Mate if you flash with Odin or OTA (kies) you will change the bootloader , ok? so once you have a 4..4 bootloader installed there is no way to install back a 4,2,2 stock ( official ) firmware , 4.4.2 official firmware includes 4.4.2 bootloader and flashing an older bootloader than the one you have is not possible (yet)
your options are:
4.2.2 bootloader
stay there do nothing
Upgrade to official 4.4 and not be able to downgrade to 4.2.2 official
root , install CWM and install any custom rom you want ( 4.2.2 , 4.3 or 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 ) and if you do not like any of them go back to official 4.2.2
Once you upgrade to official 4.4.2 there is no way to go back to official 4.2.2 , the only way to go back to 4.2.2 would be with a custom rom

Ok mate ,
Good luck .
Sorry if this is a noob question but will running an old bootloader (say 4.4.2 NA6) with a newer official rom (like 4.4.2 NE4) allow me to downgrade using Mobile Odin Pro?
And if thats the case, are there likely to be any performance issues with running an old bootloader with a new firmware?
KitKat boatloader works on all KitKat roms. Is good to update to latest boatloader to match the rom but no biggie if not.

is it possible to downgrade lollipop stock rom to stock jellybean?or do i need to downgrade first to kitkat stock before downgrading to jellybean?i want to do this because i have apps that i used when im on jellybean which is not compatible with kitkat and lollipop.
Using Odin you should be able to downgrade directly to Android 4.3
You will have to do a factory reset in recovery.
I did my factory reset after downgrading the firmware, but guessing you could do it before the downgrade and then not have to worry about the auto-reboot in Odin.
Hi
I have a problem during flashing from 4.4.2 to 4.3. After start the process fails by aboot.mbn. If I remove the file aboot.mbn in the md5-package and start the process again, it works. The mobile flashs back to 4.3, but it hasn't sound and I can't record Video or Soundmemo. Please help! I don't what to do.
I'm looking forward.
Best wishes
Aboot.mbn is the bootloader. You cannot flash a 4.3 bootloader over a 4.4.2 bootloader.

Is there any way to go around the bootloader? Would it help to flash lollipop 5.0.1 and then to flash back to jelly bean 4.3 or the lollipop has a bootloader locker too.
Thank's so much!!
There is no way to downgrade the bootloader to 4.3 once the phone has been flashed with 4.4.2 or newer. This applies to many Samsung phones including the s3, note 3, note 4, etc.

I flashed my S3 from 4.4.4 to 4.3 and tab 3 from 4.4.2 to 4.2.2 without any problems...why it doesn't works on S4?
Are you sure that the ROM you used to downgrade included a bootloader?
For the s3, it may be possible to go to a 4.3 bootloader as there was no bootloader after 4.4.2 but I'm not 100% sure. I have no idea about the tab.

yes, there were one. I've rolled my s4 back to 4.3 now, but I have no sound in it...What can I do?

You installed the 4.3 bootloader too? You may want to run Samsung Phone Info from the play store to confirm.

I'm not sure. I removed the file aboot.mbn and converted the md5 archive to tar archive and finaly flashed my s4. It works, but there's only no sound in thy system.

I'm not able to downgrade it from lollipop too. I haven't the option to unlock the oem in the developer options
The OEM unlock bootloader option is only useful where a phone has a locked bootloader. In the case of your s4, the bootloader is not locked and cannot be downgraded.
The aboot.mbn file is the bootloader and removing it means the phone is running a 4.3 ROM on a 4.4.2 bootloader. This is probably why not every works properly.

How can I solve this problem?
You can solve the sound problem by flashing a newer ROM.
You cannot downgrade the bootloader and trying to downgrade may brick the phone by damaging the bootloader.

Why it worked with tab 3 and s3? I saw many videos on youtube, there rolled guys the system back...Well, Ithink it's my fate to have the kitkat. I hate this system.
The s3 and Tab 3 are totally different items. Being able to downgrade a bootloader on one device does not automatically mean every bootloader in a company's product line can be downgraded.
Have you tried running a custom ROM on the phone? You may find those more palatable.

There is no way to run a completely stock 4.3 ROM, including the bootloader, on the s4 once it has been upgraded to 4.4.2 or 5.01.
