[Q] Nexus 7 - Stuck on "Booting Downloaded Image"Bootloader - booting Custom recovery
Hello,
I am stuck rooting my device. Everything goes well until it flashes my custom recovery. It will flash it but when it attempts to boot it, it is just stuck on bootloader saying "Booting downloaded image" in the top left corner, when it should do it instantly.
Android 4.4 - JWR66Y
Tried w/ Wug's toolkit and fastboot. Both have the same problem.

SOLVED!
Well, after installing 4.2 OTA update on my Nexus 7 everything went fine until I installed Franco's kernel from his app.
Then I got stuck on an infinite booting process. I tried to re-flash the OTA .zip but I got an error because of the modified kernel I had just installed.
In Franco's official thread I read that the problem got solved by flashing the boot.img included in the OTA update, so I extracted the "boot.img.p" in the zip, renamed it to "boot.img", turned the tablet in fastboot mode, connected it to my PC, in which I'm running the "Google Nexus 7 Toolkit", and flashed that boot.img. Instead of solving the problem, I've got a beautiful "Booting Failed" line in the fastboot mode.
I decided to go further and do a fresh install. I downloaded the 4.2 factory image directly from Google, and flashed it using "Google Nexus 7 Toolkit". Now I can't even access the recovery mode.
Is this toolkit what is messing things up? What would you recommend??
EDIT:
I re-downloaded the factory image, and re-flashed using the Toolkit. Now the process ended pretty well, but now I'm on a boot loop (the X has been glowing for 15 minutes and counting). Then, rebooted into bootloader mode and Installed the CWM recovery using the Toolkit. Rebooted into the new recovery, and after a full wipe, solved!
Hope this helps to someone someday.
I was booting up after flashing Modaco 4.2 and I was on SmoothROM 4.1.2. The tablet would not boot so I assume I flashed the ROM incorrectly.
I turn off the device and then boot into FastBoot. After selecting Recovery from FastBoot, it gets stuck on the Google Image.
Please help. Thanks!
Yesterday I installed unlocked bootloader v8, TWRP recovery and rooted my device. But now I can't boot in recovery, when I try bootloader says: "booting recovery kernel image", next thing I see a android logo with a red caution mark coming out of his belly.
Can someone help me? What am I doing wrong?

Because you still have the stock android recovery installed.
And that's more than likely because you probably restarted your tab, under a stock ICS rom, and didn't delete the boot.recovery.p and/or install-recovery.sh files in the System directory. In this case, every time you boot into the OS, it overwrites your current custom recovery, and installs the stock recovery.
Delete those 2 files, then flash your custom recovery.

i was using xperia rom,but unfortunately bottom of the touch has broken making it irresponsive.i had to flash another rom.so,i flashed non-touch CWM recovery flashed rom and gapps via sideload.after successful flashing it rebooted got boot animation then it restarted itself, said optimising apps again rebooted.thought of installing another rom.entered bootloader selected recovery from then on it only displays only CWM logo at center of screen and restarts.now am unable to boot it to bootloader...tried removing the battery pins, but still the same problem.
Somehow I've messed up my recovery and it won't boot anymore. The phone boots up just fine, but not into recovery mode. When I try and go into recovery mode, the blue text "Recovery Booting" shows, sits for about 5-10 seconds, then boots up the regular system (currently the latest cyanogenmod M6 release).
I've tried flashing different recoveries using Odin 3.09 and 1.85, but both of them fail with "Odin Fail (auth)". On the screen it says "odin secure check recovery failed". I've also tried flashing different recoveries through ROM Manager and GooManager, both of which claim they flashed successfully, but still won't boot into recovery. The phone is still rooted, is there any way I can get a working recovery back??
